It was another really delicious meal. The cheesy chicken was really terrific and the green beans were really good. I think crispy onions can make anything even more delicious. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.
While I was working this afternoon, I listened to Leicester beat Chelsea 2-0to go top of the Premier League. And this evening, we watched Michigan bounce back from their first loss by thumping Maryland 87-63.
Today, we remember the legacy of a great man. We honor The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr… a man who dared to dream while standing fearlessly in the face of adversity. We celebrate the man who taught us to dream while still loving others…
“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.”
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”
“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.”
“Only in the darkness can you see the stars.”
“Everybody can be great … because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
We both had the day off work today for the holiday. It was a cold and snowy day…
Good morning from Northside…
Genifer made cheesy buffalo chicken pasta with garlic bread for lunch…
Good evening from Northside…
I realized when we got to the stairs at the top of the hill at the end of our street that I had forgotten my little fisheye Moment lens…
Today, we watched Arsenal beat Newcastle 3-0. And we watched the MLK Day NBA games especially the Grizzlies win over the Suns. I like the Griz. I think they have the best logo in the NBA. It was a very nice day off. And another very low-key, relaxing day. 😀🌄❄️🔥🐔⚽️🏀❤️
I played four teams but I didn’t realize that all four of my teams of PPR (Points Per Reception). I’d never played PPR leagues before and it showed. Two of my four teams teams made the playoffs and my best finish was 3rd place…
My other teams finished fourth, fifth and seventh, all in eight team leagues. Is that bad? It’s not good. But I still think fantasy football is so much fun. It makes the football season really interesting and enjoyable, especially when you’re winning. Which I wasn’t. 😀🏈🏆❤️
And it was another really good dinner. The noodles and the garlic-seasme sauce was terrific. And I ate all the snow peas first. I just not a big fan of most steaks. It was tasty. But there was just a lot of beef. And I kept ending up with just this ball of meat in my mouth. I could have used a lot more of the noodles and snow peas and less of the steak. But it was still another super tasty meal. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.
The sky was really odd tonight. It was mostly cloudy with just this little sliver that was very bright right at the horizon. Good evening from Northside…
Later this evening was the MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference Final between my beloved Minnesota United and Seattle Sounders…
Minnesota was a pretty sizeable underdog coming into this match…
But Minnesota really took the game to Seattle and led 1-0 at half courtesy of a golazo freekick wonderstrike by their new star player Argentine Emanuel Reynoso…
COME ON YOU LOONS! United added their second in the 67th minute on a Bakaye Dibassy header from another Reynoso freekick. The Loons were up Dos a Cero and I was on cloud nine. Sounders pulled one back in the 75th minute as they continued to turn up the pressure. 😬 And the Loons couldn’t hold on as Seattle stormed back to score two more goals, both off of corners, one in the 89th and the other at 90+4 to win the match 3-2. Crushing. Absolutely crushing.
But it was one heck of a playoff run and a tremendous season for Minnesota United. No one expected them to reach the conference finals in just their fourth season in MLS. And even though the Loons season is over, it was still a pretty darn good Monday. 😀🌄☁️🍜⚽️🏆🥲❤️
With Stove Top stuffing! I love Stove Top stuffing…
Thankfully, it’s finally Stove Top stuffing season again. Stuffing makes it feel like autumn. Did I mention I love stuffing?
Good evening from Northside…
And that was our Tuesday. We watched the the Rays go 3-0 up on the cheaters from Houston. And the Braves took a 2-0 lead over the Dodgers. A Rays versus Braves World Series wouldn’t be too bad. 😀🌄⚾️❤️
When I wake up every morning, the first thing I do is look at the weather. Then I doom scroll through the news emails (1440, CNN 5 Things, NYT Morning Briefing, & NPR Daily News) in my inbox really quick. Then I check the Sports 365 app to see what sports are going to be taking place later in the day. I use Sports 365 to help decide what I’m going to wear and if there will be anything interesting to watch later. I checked the app this morning and saw this…
That’s never happened before. Inside Sports 365, I tagged 42 teams and 11 competitions as favourites. Apparently, none of them were playing their respective sports today. Now I have no idea what I’m going to wear today and more importantly what I’m going to watch later. After Sports 365, the next app I look at is my Timehop. These photos were in my Timehop this morning…
My Minnesota United was playing FC Cincinnati tonight at Minnesota. Apparently even with the pandemic, a ban on spectators at the matches AND the match being played all the way in Minnesota, FC Cincinnati matches are still blacked out on ESPN+…
Come to find out that thankfully, you can actually stream the FC|C matches through YouTubeTV now…
I had five fantasy baseball teams competing in ESPN head-to-head points leagues. To be honest, I had a really hard time getting into fantasy baseball this season. I neglected my teams a lot and had a hard time remembering to update them. Four of my teams didn’t do very well. But even with all my neglect, my Whipty Dips finished 5-2 on the season…
They actually made the playoffs in the winner’s bracket…
And come to find out, they actually won their league…
While we out in West Chester, we visited Geri for a bit, gathered Oscar and Bear to finally bring them back home with us and then we headed back to Northside…
