Happy Valentine’s Day.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to the grocery this morning…

I thought Ice Bear had been pulled out of the claw machine…

But he was just moved from the front corner to the back corner. poor guy…

They were still out of pandas and trains…

But there were still plenty of Valentine’s Day balloons…

Lotsa balloons…

Cincinnati was expecting a big winter storm starting later in the afternoon. And that made the check-out lines really long…

And we stopped for coffees…

Arsenal smacked around Leeds United, 4-2. And Michigan was finally back from their three week COVID pause and they had to play away to Wisconsin…

And BOOM! They didn’t miss a beat…

After the Michigan game, we went over to Taft’s for pizza…

We tried Taft’s newest beer, Hazy Cabana Juice

It was really good. We got some loaded tots…

Very blurry tots. And we got a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza…

Taft’s had a Valentine’s Day special with a heart-shaped pizza and cannoli. We didn’t get the special deal but they had extra cannoli and gave us a couple…

Good evening from Northside…

And then we hung out and had a few drinks and watched Mavs basketball…

It probably wasn’t the world’s most romantic Valentine’s Day but it was a really great Sunday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈπŸ•πŸ€β€οΈ

Superb Owl Sunday.

Happy Superb Owl Sunday!

We were up super early this morning, even before the sunrise…

Good morning from Northside…

And we were off to run over the the grocery…

We always go to the grocery early, but we wanted to get over extra early this morning. We thought it might start to get a bit nutty with people stocking up on supplies for The Big Gameβ„’…

It looked like Ice Bear was rescued from the claw machine…

He used to be right where the zebra is now. I hope he went to a good home…

Both the panda and the train were out of stick in the International Aisle…

And there were still a few balloons left but no owl balloons…

Just lots and lots of hearts…

As is tradition, we stopped for coffee after the grocery…

Here’s another photo of Genifer’s new desk. She moved it over in front of the window…

It looks really nice in there.

And good evening from Northside…

I was cheering for Tom Brady in The Big Gameβ„’…

And there you go. We had a whole bunch of chip and dippers while we watched the game. It was a pretty great Superb Bowl Sunday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜•οΈπŸ¦‰πŸˆπŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Happy Saturday!

It’s Saturday! Happy Saturday!

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to the grocery this morning…

And Ice Bear was still locked inside the claw grab machine…

And there was only one panda and the trains were all sold out…

We always liked 21st Amendment’s Hell or High Watermelon. But we’ve never seen Hell or High Mango before. We’ll have to give it a try sometime…

And we saw this M-43 NE IPA from Old Nation Brewing in Williamston, Michigan over on the other side of Lansing…

I’d never really heard of One Nation Brewing or Williamston before. There were still some football balloons before next weekend’s Superb Owl big game…

And there were some Valentine’s Day balloons…

Bunches and bunches of Valentine’s Day balloons…

We stopped at Biggby for coffee…

And we had a BOGO…

We’re saving our Christmas Biggby gift cards for when we don’t have a free one…

Mmmmm… Biggby…

Arsenal played a nil-nil draw with United. And Xavier resumed their season, picking up right where they left off with a 13 point win at Butler.

Good evening from Northside…

And later it started snowing…

It started snowing kind of a lot for us. We were watching the snow accumulate on our street from our third-floor WyzeCam

We watched The White Tiger on Netflix and then started season one of Unit 42. The White Tiger was pretty good and Unit 42 is just pretty okay. And that was our Saturday It was a pretty happy Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸŽˆβ˜•οΈβ„οΈπŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Hello, Ice Bear.

We got up pretty early this morning and it was still a little dark…

Good morning from Northside…

Before we got to work, we ran over to the grocery store because we didn’t feel like going over the weekend…

Ice Bear was still trapped in the claw machine…

And there were some great balloons. I still really like the frog balloons…

And the hummingbird bird was pretty neat too…

And we stopped to get some Biggby Coffee too..

And then we got down to business and knocked out all our work…

Tonight, we watched Snowpiercer on Netflix. We’re pretty late to the game on this one but it’s one of those Dystopian future society movies. We watched it. It was bad. So bad that three days later, we’re still talking about the plot holes in this movie, why they decided to save humanity from another Ice Age with a train that circumnavigates the globe and why that is quite possibly the dumbest way to save mankind. There was talk about putting together a Powerpoint presentation on just why it was so bad just in case this movie ever came up in conversation. I don’t know who we would be talking to, but we’d be ready just in case. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈπŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Also, come to find out Snowpiercer is a mini-series on TNT starring Sean Bean and Jennifer Connelly? My only question is… Whyyy?! I think we’re going to give that one a hard pass.

A cold & snowy Saturday.

It was a could and snowy morning in Northside…

Good morning from Northside…

We went over to the grocery this morning. It counts as our Saturday activity…

Both the panda and train were on the shelf today…

And the football balloons still dominated the balloons…

And then we got coffees from Mad Llama

JAVA WHIPS!

After that we were pretty lazy…

We still had some flurries this evening…

Good evening from Northside…

You can see the snowflakes on Mack’s head…

We had a Kroger flatbread pizza for lunch with Caesar salad. It was really good. Somehow, I didn’t take a photo of it. I don’t remember what we had for dinner.

But we had tiramisu for dessert…

Michigan got thumped by Minnesota. And we watched Outside the Wire on Netflix. It was pretty good. We had another good pandemic Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸŒ¨οΈβ„οΈπŸ€πŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Another great Sunday.

The sky was very pretty this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We had our normal weekend outing to the grocery…

The Valentine’s Day stuff is out in force…

Both the panda and the train were in the international aisle…

These balloons were very cheerful. I liked the little frog…

And Ice Bear was still trapped inside in the claw grab machine…

We stopped for Biggby coffee

It was time to say goodbye to our Christmas tree again…

We made BLTs with seasoned curly fries for lunch…

Xavier beat Providence with a buzz-beater and Wichita State handled Cincinnati.

The sky was pretty this evening as well..

Good evening from Northside…

This evening we finished Manhunt: Unabomber. It was pretty good. Very interesting.

And twelve years ago today, I got started on Twitter…

I don’t really post a lot on Twitter, or really on any social media anymore. But I sure do scroll through my Twitter feed all the dang time. I wonder how much I’ll keep looking at Twitter after January 20th. This is probably going to help a bunch…

It sounds like it’s already making Twitter a better place. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸΌπŸš‚β˜•οΈπŸŽ„πŸ₯ͺ❀️

Deep dish Sunday.

Today was our last day of the our long holiday break…

And it was another grey and rainy day.

Good morning from Northside…

This morning we ran over to the grocery store to get stuff for the upcoming week…

According to the balloons at Kroger, I guess the next major holiday is the Superb Owl…

We made BLTs for lunch with turkey bacon. I really like turkey bacon a lot. I made my BLTs on little Hawaiian rolls with two slices of cheese. They were delicious…

We watched football until it was time to take the dogs on their walk.

And then it was good evening from Northside…

For dinner tonight, we enjoyed out second Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza that JJVE sent us for Christmas. The deep dish cheese pizza was really good and we were really excited to try the pepperoni one…

It looked and smelled so good…

It was delicious! Thanks so much for the delicious pizzas, JJVE! We really enjoyed them.

For dessert, Genifer made gooey deep dish cookies with chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. And we paired the cookies with little ice cream party cups…

They were delicious as well. Genifer always finds the best recipes to make.

This evening we finished the second season of Marcella on Netflix. It’s a good show.

We had a wonderful long holiday break. NO matter how long it is, it never feels long enough. I think I always have delusions of grandeur that I’m going to get more done or get more accomplished. This time I didn’t really accomplish a whole lot. But at least, we got to hang out and spend lots of time together and watch a bunch of movies and have a great holiday. And it was very relaxing. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈπŸŽˆπŸ₯ͺπŸ•πŸͺπŸ“Ί

The last Saturday before Christmas.

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to the grocery store this morning…

Jell-O just upped the jello game with Jell-O Play…

These might have been around for a while but they’re new to me. Both panda and the train were on the shelf in the international aisle today…

Check out the old-skool Doritos packaging…

And Kroger didn’t have any special balloons today…

What the heck?! After we were done at the grocery, we headed to Biggby for coffee

Day 19 of my Lego City Advent Calendar…

We were pretty lazy when we got home…

I don’t know why I found this so funny…

It was just the open bag of sugar in a tupperware container but the sugar was still in the bag and I thought that was really funny. But I’m weird… so, yeah.

I got this little serving of full-cooked shrimps at the grocery and ate them for lunch. Geri found this super extra spicy cocktail sauce. It’s so good. Such horseradishy goodness…

The shrimp are just a delivery vehicle to get the spicy cocktail sauce into my mouth.

Good evening from Northside…

We made some White Russian drinks this evening…

And Oscar was just like, “Are we going to go upstairs any time soon?”

Sorry, buddy. We had another pretty good Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ›οΈβ˜•οΈπŸΎπŸ¦πŸ₯ƒβ€οΈ

A rainy Saturday.

The weather forecast said was supposed to be a rainy weekend…

They weren’t kidding. Good morning from Northside…

We dodged the raindrops and ran over to the grocery store…

It’s hard to believe that next Thursday will be Thanksgiving. There were some great Thanksgiving balloons at the store this morning…

They had Christmas balloons too… because why not?

After the grocery, we stopped for Saturday morning coffee at Biggby

It was a rainy day and we all just sort of laid around today…

We ate leftover pizza and watched the MLS Cup Playoffs play-in matches. And another exciting match was sullied by nonsensical MLS officiating when the match went to penalty shoot-outs

And the result was a 22-minute shoot-out that involved the Orlando City’s keeper getting sent off for his second bookable offense…

Upon review, he was judged to have clearly come off his line to make a save…

And he was sent off as a result. After all that on the very next penalty, NYCFC’s keeper came off his line in the EXACT same manner to make the save to force sudden death…

And ridiculously enough, he was not booked. The kick was not retaken. Nothing. Fine as you were. And Bob’s your uncle. But that’s MLS for you. No consistency. It was one of the most unnecessarily bizarre penalty shoot-outs I’ve ever seen.

After all that mess, we took the dogs on a walk around the block…

It was still rainy. Good evening from Northside…

And later we watched Michigan take over 4 1/2 hours and three overtimes to finally get the W at Rutgers

It was a pretty good lazy Saturday despite all the rain. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸŒ§οΈπŸŽˆβ˜•οΈπŸ•βš½οΈπŸˆβ€οΈ

And our basement is still completely dry.

A big sports Saturday.

Dang! It was another beautiful morning…

Good morning from Northside…

And we walked down the path by the school to look at the sunrise again

We drove over to Oakley to go to the grocery. But first, we stopped to fuel up Genifer’s Audi. The sun was just coming up over the buildings…

And then it was on to the grocery…

Kroger was completely sold out of both the panda bear and the train

So somebody does actually buy them. I wonder if they are any good? Someday, I’ll manage to sneak them into our cart.

Kroger did have a very nice assortment of great balloons today…

With it being so close to Halloween, I almost got this Monster POP!

And then we got our Saturday morning Mad Llama coffee…

Good evening from Northside…

Genifer made a slow-cooker pot roast for dinner tonight…

I made mine into an open-faced roast beef sammich…

And it was awesome! I’d been craving a sammich like this for a whlie now.

Mack kept bringing me his football. He must really be ready to kickoff another season of Michigan football as well…

Later this evening, all my teams kicked off at exactly the same time…

On the TV, I had with my Louisville City hosting Tampa Bay Rowdies the USL Eastern Conference finals. On the iPad, I had my Minnesota United versus our FC Cincinnati. And on the iPod, I had the opener of the Michigan football season as they played away to Minnesota.

LouCity lost 2-1. MNUFC stole one from FC|C 1-0 on a late scramble in the 90+2′, and Michigan whooped Minnesota 49-24. I guess two out of three isn’t bad. Louisville had a wonderful season that included a run of 13 games unbeaten, with eight straight wins that ended with tonight’s loss. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β€οΈ

UPDATE: USL made the determination that the season will conclude after Tampa Bay Rowdies and Phoenix Rising FC each progressed through the playoffs to win the Eastern Conference and Western Conference titles, respectively. USL announced that the 2020 USL Championship Final will not be played after multiple persons within the clubs tested positive for COVID-19. The final was scheduled for Sunday, November 1. Tampa Bay and Phoenix will explore the possibility of a 2021 Season Kickoff game between the two clubs prior to the start of the 2021 Championship season.

Wow. A season without a champion. 2020 just keeps getting better.
