It was a really fun Saturday.

This morning we were out running errands and got coffees from Hyde Perk

Later, we went down to Over-the-Rhine. We stopped to admire OtR’s Ziegler Park

Then we stopped at The Pony for lunch. They had Bell’s Pineapple Jalapeno Oberon on tap. And it was sooooo good…

The Pony has some of the best chicken tenders in all of Cincinnati…

Then we walked down Main Street to finally get to check out the relatively new Pins Mechanical Company just down from The Pony…

Pins has Duck Pin Bowling…

We didn’t try any bowling. We’ll have to save that fun for another time. And upon the second floor of Pins…

Pins has a whole bunch of pinball machines…

Upon the third floor, they have an awesome patio with a bocce ball court and giant Jenga. But that is another story for another time. On the way home, we stopped at Second Place to watch the end of the Champions League Final…

It was another pretty fun Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸ΄πŸŽ³β€οΈ

Camp Washington Chili.

Today, we stumbled across Camp Washington Chili

Camp Washington Chili is a fixture in the Cincinnati Chili scene. Since 1940, Camp Washington Chili has been proudly serving up chili from theΒ one and only Camp Washington Chili Parlor! I knew of them because they sponsored the coney eating contests on Fountain Square. And their coneys are really good. We hadn’t been looking very hard for Camp Washington Chili or anything. I knew it was over by us somewhere. But I wasn’t exactly sure where it was. And today, we just drove right by it. I learned thatΒ Camp Washington is just south of Northside. It’s tucked in between the I-75 to the east and Mill Creek to the West.

Now that we know exactly where Camp Washington Chili is, we’ll have to stop and give it a try sometime soon. πŸ˜€πŸ§€πŸŒβ€οΈ

Slow down and grill.

We drove out to suburbia this afternoon to have a Memorial Day cook-out with Geri…

Steaks were just the tip of the iceberg. There were also cheeseburgers and hot dogs and all sorts of sides. Soooo much food. It was a good time. It’s always really good to see her. And one the way home, we saw this double rainbow…

And it stuck around until we got on the highway to head home…

Pretty cool. πŸ˜€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ₯©πŸŒˆβ€οΈ

A pretty low-key weekend.

I didn’t take very many photos this weekend. Not many at all. Yesterday, Mack went to the vet to get his allergy shot. We walked down to Second Place to eat cheeseburgers and watch the Newcastle versus Brighton soccer match. And we just watched Netflix for the rest of the day. We binge-watched the first season of Chambers. It was pretty good. But it got kinda weird at the end. And we watched FC Cincinnati lose. Again. This time they lost 1-0 away to New Jersey Red Bulls. That’s really all we did. It was a pretty chill Saturday.

Today, we ran some errands to get some stuff for our upcoming road trip. We got some new stuff from Old Navy where I saw this adorable gift bag…

I have a very real thing for monsters right now. I even started a Pinterest board of just monster illustrations. Later, we ate this Trader Joe’s pepperoni pizza…

It was really good. Have we mentioned we love Trader Joe’s? πŸ˜€πŸ—ΊοΈπŸ‘ΉπŸ•β€οΈ

A busy Tuesday.

Good morning from Northside. I had a big day planned on my last day before I started my new job tomorrow…

This morning we took Oscar to get his haircut before our epic road trip next week…

After dropping off Oscar, I dropped off Genifer at work before heading downtown to drop off my key fob at Deskey. I wasn’t going to be needing that anymore…

I dropped off my fob. Ran over to Rookwood Commons to go to Old Navy. I wanted a new navy polo shirt. I ended up finding one and a bunch of other stuff for our road trip. From there, I went to the grocery store to get dog food and cat litter and other odds and ends since I won’t be able just to walk around the corner to CVS or the hardware store anymore. On my way home, I picked up a couple of McDonald’s Filet O’Fish for lunch. And while I was eating my fish, I ordered us two general admission tickets for the upcoming USMNT match versus Venezuela at Nippert Stadium…

I went to go pick-up Oscar from the groomers but he wasn’t quite ready yet. I had about a half hour to kill so I went to check out Maverick’s Comics & Cards in Finneytown…

And then it was time to pick up Oscar…

He looks so handsome. At Maverick’s, I found a bunch of Usagi Yojimbo back issues…

Later, I went to pickup Genifer from work, and on the way home, we stopped for a beer and a fried bologna sammich with some loaded cheese fries…

Just today, Listermann released a collaboration Bottle Logic Brewing called Scoring Discrepancies. It was a with Imperial Stout with peanut butter and raspberry…

It was a lot of running around. But I really feel like I got a lot accomplished today. πŸ˜€β€οΈ

Sunday morning.

We woke up early this morning to get over to Trader Joe’s before it got too crazy…

One of the things we’ve found at Trader Joe’s that we really like are these Bambas…

They are like cheese curls but instead of cheese, they’re peanut butter. Soo good. We got lotsa good stuff…

After we were done at Trader Joe’s, we stopped for breakfast at Wild Eggs

Their menu had lots of good sounding stuff but unfortunately, we aren’t huge breakfast people. We like breakfast just not a lot of it. Genifer got two scrambled eggs and some sausage links…

I ordered just a Belgian waffle…

Everything was really good. We’ll have to build up more of an appetite and head back to try some of the more elaborate offerings at Wild Eggs. πŸ˜€πŸ₯žβ€οΈ

And we were back home by 10:00am.

Saturday morning errands.

This morning we got up and moving and headed over to Trader Joe’s in Kenwood…

We love Trader Joe’s. We’ve become kind of obsessed with their stuff especially their Mandarin Orange Chicken. It’s better almost every takeout Chinese food that we’ve had. And it’s only $4.99. It’s so dang good.

Then we stopped by the new At Home store in Norwood…

I felt like I was in that last scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark

From there, we headed out to The West Side to collect our taxes. We got money back on the federal but we owed the state and city. But we came out ahead. After we got our taxes, we stopped into Menier’s Fine Meats…

I wanted to try their World Famous Chicken Salad

We a little container of the chicken salad (it was awesome), a little bit of their pasta salad and a couple of these awesome buffalo chicken egg rolls…

Meiner’s has really great stuff. And their meats looked out of this world. We’ll have to go back when it’s a little bit warmer outside when we can grill a bunch of stuff. After we were done at Meiner’s, we stopped a BDubs to share some boneless wings for lunch…

Oh, and mini corn dogs. I love their mini corn dogs…

On the way home from The West Side, we saw this sign for Chester’s Chicken at a Shell gas station on Boudinot…

That chicken is so darn cute. I wonder how the chicken is? It was a really good Saturday morning. We got a lot accomplished and we were still home by one o’clock.

Big fun Saturday.

I’m not exactly sure how it happened but this afternoon we ended up at BJ’s Brewhouse at Rookwood Commons for lunch…

Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with BJ’s. BJ’s has some really good stuff. We just never really eat there. We’ve been to BJ’s a couple of times back during the NFL playoffs. They had a pretty killer happy hour on Sundays during football season. But that’s the only time we’ve really been here. Yet, today we stopped in for lunch…

Their Tatonka Stout is pretty good, as is their PM Porter. We started with these little stuffed mushrooms. They were really tasty but could have been a little bigger…

BJ’s menu is ridiculously large. If you can think of it, chances are it’s probably on BJ’s rather extensive menu. Genifer got their BJ’s classic chicken sammich

I had BJ’s hand-pulled turkey dip

BJ’s had some delicious stuff. It was a really good lunch. After lunch, we met our friend Tayler at Overlook Lodge in Pleasant Ridge for a drink. Every time we’re at Overlook, I always notice more details. This place is so neat…

But this video was the clincher. Soooo freaking cool. Little details make things amazing. Speaking of amazing… we stopped at Share Cheesebar in PRidge after Overlook…

We got some of the most incredible cheese from Cheesebar. But I don’t remember what it was called. And that’s a shame. We also got this incredible Pimento Cheese…

Holy cow, I love pimento cheese spread!

It was another really fun Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸ§€β€οΈ

BDubs & Brink Brewing.

After dropping off our taxes, we stopped at BDubs on The Westside for lunch…

I think their mini corn dogs are one of the best things around…

Genifer ordered garlic parmesan boneless wings…

And a side of fries…

I had the buffalo chicken sammich…

After we were done with lunch, we stopped at Brink Brewing in College Hill…

Brink always has some pretty awesome beers…

Great lunch and great beers make for a great Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸ”πŸΊβ€οΈ

It’s a sign.

We dropped off all of our tax stuff to our accountant this morning…

And this sign was on the deli right next door to our accountant…

World famous, huh? Now I feel like I have to try it when we go back to finalize our taxes. πŸ˜€πŸ”β€οΈ
