Happy President’s Day! I’m very appreciative to have an actual functioning adult as president again.
It was very snowy again this morning. We got some more snow overnight and we were supposed to get a bunch more snow this afternoon into this evening. We were joking that it wasn’t a holiday during the middle of a pandemic that it would have probably been a snow day and we would have got to stay home…
And so a snowy good morning from Northside…
Before the snow got too bad, we ran over to Skyline to pickup some lunch…
The roads weren’t terrible. But they also weren’t great…
Genifer didn’t yell at me for taking photos with my DJI Osmo Pocket while driving so you know it wasn’t too bad outside yet…
Up in Michigan, they would have just called this another Monday…
Genifer’s Audi Q3 did really well in the snow…
And now it’s Skyline Time!
It was so good. For dessert, we ate our Valentine’s cannolis from Taft’s yesterday…
Shortly after we were done eating, we received a text that Hamilton County was upgraded to a Level 2 Snow Advisory…
Good evening from a very snowy Northside…
We played in the snow in our backyard…
And we watched the snow accumulate on our street from our third-floor WyzeCam…
We also watched all six episodes of the series Young Wallander on Netflix. It was pretty good. But the ending was a bit dumb.
Oh… and Michigan basketball is now ranked number three in the country…
We had a really nice President’s Day home from work. 😀🌄🌨️❄️📺❤️
It started snowing kind of a lot for us. We were watching the snow accumulate on our street from our third-floor WyzeCam…
We watched The White Tiger on Netflix and then started season one of Unit 42. The White Tiger was pretty good and Unit 42 is just pretty okay. And that was our Saturday It was a pretty happy Saturday. 😀🌄🎈☕️❄️📺❤️
It was another really delicious meal. Chicken and rice bowls are terrific. And we love anything with tzatziki sauce. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.
A lot of my favorite basketball teams aren’t playing because of COVID-19. Just tonight, Wichita State, Michigan and Grizzlies all had games postponed…
Thank goodness they haven’t paused all the games and we could watch some other games tonight. 😀🌄☁️🌨️❄️🏀📺❤️
We ventured out to try something new this afternoon, Agave & Rye in Rookwood…
We started with some chips and guacamole…
Genifer loves guacamole…
And it was really good at Agave & Rye. We also started with the elotte…
And we each had an epic taco. Genifer had The Buddha: teriyaki 5-spice tofu, sticky rice, baby corn, water chestnuts, cilantro, green onion, carrots, red bell pepper, Shiitake mushrooms, crispy wontons, sweet thai chili sauce…
I love ground beef tacos. And they’re kind of hard to find out. Agave & Rye had two on their menu. So this time I ordered The Cousin of Vinnie: seasoned ground beef, tomato-vodka sauce, mac n cheese, white cheddar, tobacco onions and queso cushion in between the two taco shells…
Next time, I’ll try the other ground beef taco. Their tacos were amazing and huge. And they had a bunch of interesting sounding tacos on their menu.
Everything we ordered was delicious…
Agave & Rye had a whole bunch of arcade game that would have been fun to play…
But we’re still in the middle of a pandemic and I didn’t want to touch anything…
Agave & Rye was incredible. Everything was delicious. Their tacos were huuuuge. And we left so stuffed. I think we just found our new favorite taco shop now that Django Western Taco has moved out of Northside.
When we got home, we took the dogs out around the block…
And it was still cold…
Good evening from Northside…
We ended up taking a nap. And later, we watched the NFL playoff games…
I was happy to see Tom Brady win. I was sad to see Drew Brees lose. And I thought the refs jobbed the Browns. How did they miss this helmet-to-helmet hit? Most likely, it cost the Browns a touchdown and they would end up losing by 5 points. Next weekend, I’ll be cheering for Brady and the Bills. Because nothing would be worse than a State Farm Superb Owl with Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. I don’t really care for either of them very much.
But anyway, we had a really great day with some epic tacos! 😀🌄❄️🌮🐾🏈❤️
We had a Kroger flatbread pizza for lunch with Caesar salad. It was really good. Somehow, I didn’t take a photo of it. I don’t remember what we had for dinner.
There was still a little bit of snow on the ground this morning…
Good morning from Northside…
Day 17 of my Lego City Advent Calendar…
My work dropped off this holiday care package this afternoon…
It was a pretty great bag stuffed full of all sorts of treats. It was very nice of Grey to do this and hand deliver all these treats.
Good evening from Northside…
For dinner tonight, we made one of our Lou Malnati’s Chicago-style deep-dish pizza that we got in the mail yesterday from JJVE…
What a delicious pizza! It was such a good pie so cheesy and delicious. Thanks again, JJVE!
For dessert, we had a couple of little mini cheesecakes that Genifer picked up fromTaste of Belgium after she was done having lunch with her coworkers…
Those little cheesecakes were really delicious as well.
And this showed up in the mail for us today…
Thanks again, mom & dad! We love us some pizza. Especially delicious Taft’s pizza! We’ll definitely be putting this to good use very soon. Hopefully, we’ll be able to wait until after Christmas.
Tonight, we watched Ava on Netflix. It was like a female Jason Bourne or John Wick or something. And Mack actually came upstairs and crashed out on the bed while we were watched the movie…
It’s interesting that when I saw this photo my mind went to a completely different place when I saw animal mask than when I saw this originally. And there was this one too…
That would have been the best white elephant gift ever. To this day, I still kick myself for not buying it.
Hi Oscar. He’s so fuzzy!
We had a great Wednesday. Thank you again for the wonderful Christmas gifts. 😀🌄🌯📺⚽️🎁🦕❤️
Today was December 1st. How crazy is that? It must have kept snowing overnight because we woke up to winter wonderland…
And a snowy good morning from Northside…
Brrr. I bought three Lego City Advent Calendars a while back. I bought on one for me and one for our niece and one for our nephew out in Boston. I forgot that they were still sitting on the sofa in our studio, and just mailed them out the day after Thanksgiving. Because December really snuck up on me. Violette and Edgerton… your Lego Advent Calendars are on their way. They’ll be there just as soon as USPS finally decides to deliver them. I paid to have them delivered today. But the tracking number says they are still in Cincinnati somehow.
Anyway, I finally got the start my Lego City Advent Calendar today…
And here is Lego City Advent Calendar day one…
A Lego City Advent Calendar. How cool is that? I think Lego anything is pretty dang awesome.
I started working this morning. I had just finished a hour long meeting and a little after 10am all of a sudden, our power went out….
You don’t really realize how much of your work depends on power until you don’t have it. Obviously, there wasn’t any internet. And my work MacBook is a bit older and the battery life isn’t super. So by 11:30am, I was pretty much staring out the window, waiting for the power to come back on.
The energy company’s website said it wouldn’t be back on before 1:30pm. Eventually, we ventured out to go out to pick up something for lunch and decided on Wendy’s…
We got home and started eating our Wendy’s and the power came back on a little before 2pm…
Thank goodness for electricity!
It looks like people got some good sledding in on the hill at the end of our street…
We should have gone sledding while we were waiting for power to come back on.
Good evening from Northside…
We ate leftover Wendy’s chicken nuggets for dinner. And later, we watched Holidateon Netflix. It was super cute. It’s still hard to believe it’s December 1st.
Meteorologists were predicting that Cincinnati would get a “wintery mix” starting at 6pm tonight. And they weren’t very far off for once. It started snowing right around 6:15. We watched the snow fall from our third-floor WyzeCam…
It’ll be interesting to see what it looks like when we wake up in the morning…
