One year ago.

One year ago, we were just figuring out how to work from home…

Fast forward a year, and I’ve really fine tuned my little work space…

I have my little set-up down pat. It’s a pretty functional space. It’s going to be really hard to go back to working in an office. Thankfully, it sounds like it’s still going to be a while until we have to go back to commuting to an office. They are projecting a return in September at the earliest now. 😀🏡💻❤️

The first day of winter break.

Genifer has to work a couple of days this week. But I have the entire week off work…

Good morning from Northside…

I worked on organizing our studio office today…

Sometimes it’s hard to get Mack to come downstairs to go on walks…

Good evening from Northside…

We had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. This one was Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken Alfredo Penne with mozzarella. Again. We wanted to get a different meal this time. The one we wanted was something-something Caesar chicken. But I grabbed the wrong one out of the refrigerated case at the grocery…

It was another really good meal. We just wished it was a different one. But it was still a really good dinner. And we got to enjoy some more garlic bread. And I love garlic bread. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot. And Genifer made these deep dish chocolate chip cookies…

Ohmigosh. They were so good. We paired them with little chocolate swirl ice cream cups. It was a really great dessert. The dogs new toys have their fist casualty. Oscar gnawed off one of the eyes of the avocado toy…

We had another pretty good day. Hopefully, this will be a very low-key, relaxing week at home. 😀🌄🍽️🐾❤️

Hello, December.

Today was December 1st. How crazy is that? It must have kept snowing overnight because we woke up to winter wonderland…

And a snowy good morning from Northside…

Brrr. I bought three Lego City Advent Calendars a while back. I bought on one for me and one for our niece and one for our nephew out in Boston. I forgot that they were still sitting on the sofa in our studio, and just mailed them out the day after Thanksgiving. Because December really snuck up on me. Violette and Edgerton… your Lego Advent Calendars are on their way. They’ll be there just as soon as USPS finally decides to deliver them. I paid to have them delivered today. But the tracking number says they are still in Cincinnati somehow.

Anyway, I finally got the start my Lego City Advent Calendar today…

And here is Lego City Advent Calendar day one…

A Lego City Advent Calendar. How cool is that? I think Lego anything is pretty dang awesome.

I started working this morning. I had just finished a hour long meeting and a little after 10am all of a sudden, our power went out….

You don’t really realize how much of your work depends on power until you don’t have it. Obviously, there wasn’t any internet. And my work MacBook is a bit older and the battery life isn’t super. So by 11:30am, I was pretty much staring out the window, waiting for the power to come back on.

The energy company’s website said it wouldn’t be back on before 1:30pm. Eventually, we ventured out to go out to pick up something for lunch and decided on Wendy’s…

We got home and started eating our Wendy’s and the power came back on a little before 2pm…

Thank goodness for electricity!

It looks like people got some good sledding in on the hill at the end of our street…

We should have gone sledding while we were waiting for power to come back on.

Good evening from Northside…

We ate leftover Wendy’s chicken nuggets for dinner. And later, we watched Holidate on Netflix. It was super cute. It’s still hard to believe it’s December 1st.

Today was also my 900th Timehop in a row…

And this guy was in my Timehop today…

Pretty fitting for December 1st. It is the season. It was a pretty good day, even without power. 😀🌄❄️🍔📺❤️

And we’re back at it.

It’s Monday morning. And for once, we had a Monday morning that wasn’t rainy. It made it a little bit easier to get out of bed this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

And then it was time to get back to work…

A really big project got underway last week while we were kicking it on the beach. It’s probably going to keep me pretty busy for a while.

For dinner tonight, we had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals for dinner tonight. This one was Korean Pork Chop with bok choy and pepper lo mein…

They changed their packaging. But they didn’t change the deliciousness…

And it was another delicious dinner. The noodles and the sauce were terrific. And the pork chop was really good too. But I could eaten a huge bowl of just those noodles. They were tasty. We like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

Good evening from Northside…

The time change is still really messing with me. It gets dark so early now. These photos were taken just before 6:45pm. It feels like it’s 11pm…

But we made it through our Monday. Genifer fell asleep pretty early and I started watching For All Mankind on Apple TV. It reminds me a bit of The Man in the High Castle by presenting a “what if the United States hadn’t won?” scenario. For all Mankind dramatizes an alternate history depicting “what would have happened if the global space race had never ended” after the Soviet Union put a man on the Moon ahead of the United States, and where would the world be now. I think it’s pretty interesting.
😀🌄💻🍜📺🚀❤️

Hooray for Fridays.

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to Mad Llama to get some coffee before we started work…

And then I wrapped up my projects for the week…

We had the rest of our pizza for dinner and then it was good evening from Northside…

And we played ball in the backyard for another half-hour. I think playing ball is Bear’s favorite part of his day. Oscar’s favorite part is probably going on walks. I think Mack just likes everything. He’s just a very happy dog.

I just like it when the workweek is over and we can enjoy the weekend. 😀🗓️❤️

There were some really pretty clouds.

Good morning from Northside. There were some really pretty clouds this morning…

Mack and Bear crashed out all day in the office…

Oscar usually hangs out in our front bedroom during the day. I made Taco Tuesday tacos for lunch today…

They were delicious. I love tacos. Especially on Tuesdays for Taco Tuesday. And Genifer made chicken ramen stir-fry for dinner…

It was delicious as well. She always finds the best recipes. It was a pretty evening…

Good evening from Northside…

We made it through another Tuesday. At least there were some pretty clouds today.
😀☁️🐾🌮🐔❤️

Painting and pizza party.

Good morning from Northside…

While I was having my epic soccer Sunday, Genifer decided she wanted to paint our first floor half bath. We got a gallon of paint while we were at Lowe’s yesterday…

She’s getting tired of all the grey in our house. This is the before photo…

We took the shelf down and removed the outlet and vent covers…

Then she painter taped it all off…

And then she got to painting…

And now our bathroom is a very pretty sky blue to go with our pretty blue tile floor…

Genifer did an amazing job of painting! The bathroom looks so good! Oscar and I did a good job of supervising…

And later before the start of the Louisville City match, I ran over to NYPD to pick up some pizza for dinner. An NYPD Pizza party reward for painting and epic soccer watching…

I wonder what happened to NYPD’s awning? Our pizza and wings were all set when I got to NYPD. It’s pretty amazing that you can order online from NYPD and 15 minutes later, you’re heading home with a pizza…

We were so ready for our NYPD Pizza party that we just dug right in and didn’t even take a photo before we started eating…

Mmmmm, Station House with banana peppers…

NYPD changed their boneless wing count while keeping the price the same. You used to get 10 wings, now you only get six. Time to find another side to order with our pizza. But we still love having NYPD right around the corner…

And good evening from Northside.

It was a really good Sunday for just hanging around the house. 😀🗓️❤️

Five by five.

The powers that be at Grey Midwest thought it would be fun for everyone on the GMW creative team to share a 5×5 presentation about what they’ve been doing at home during the pandemic quarantine when they aren’t working. A 5×5 is five slides in five minutes. Each slide is supposed to be about a different topic.

Five slides felt kinda restrictive so I made this little iMovie instead…

This was my first experience with iMovie. And I think it turned out pretty okay. 😀🎥❤️

Pause for paws.

Oscar was just hanging out in the office with me this morning. 😀🐾❤️

Just hanging out again.

Oscar was hanging out with me in our office again this afternoon…

He loves sitting on the arm of the sofa and looking out the window…

He’s so dang cute. 😀🐾❤️
