A Wednesday pizza party?

When we let the dogs out in the backyard this morning, it looked like it was going to be another grey and overcast day of working from home…

When we went out on our morning walk, we saw just how grey and overcast it was…

Good morning from Northside…

Someone lost their shoes. I’ll never understand how someone loses their shoes

We used to see it quite a few abandoned shoes when we lived downtown. Somehow it made a little more sense to me downtown. I don’t know why.

The little shrub in our front yard is starting to blossom…

Just as I was settling in to get down to work, it started pouring…

Slowly throughout the day, the sun started to come out. Later, we had to pick up a refill of Oscar’s allergy pills from the vet. And then we continued on to Finneytown to pick up some carry-out Domino’s pizza for dinner…

We usually have our pizza parties on Thursday. But we were in the neighborhood. So why not have a Wednesday Domino’s pizza party?

Genifer ordered a crispy thin crust with pepperoni and banana peppers. I got a thick pan crust double sausage and we shared some cheesy bread…

Dominos pizza is delicious. It’s so good. When we lived downtown, we used to order Dominos all the time but we don’t get it as much now because it’s just not as convenient as it was and they don’t deliver to Northside. And that’s a bit of a bummer. But what are you going to do?

Good evening from Northside…

It turned out to be a really pretty evening. And it wasn’t a bad Wednesday either. But pizza parties help make any day pretty darn good. πŸ˜€πŸ—“οΈβ€οΈ

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Independence Day morning from Northside…

Later this afternoon, we headed out to Geri’s house for a Fourth of July BBQ. On the way out to the burbs, we stopped at a Walgreens in West Chester. And inside Walgreens, we found a floor stand I designed for Venus featuring Four-Time World Surfing Champion & US Olympic hopeful, Carissa Moore

The floor stand really looked terrific. And the next wave of my Venus displays featuring Carissa Moore are going to be arriving in stores very soon. Be sure to keep an eye out for them. It’s always neat when you see your designs come to life out in the real world.Β Pretty neat stuff!

When we got to Geri’s house, we grilled up a whole bunch of goodness…

YUM! Stuff always tastes so good on the grill even though I left the burgers on the grill a little too long. You can’t beat a Fourth of July cookout.

And then we were back home. Good evening from Northside…

As we settled in for the evening, we got ready to watch some fireworks from our third-floor bedroom window WyzeCam. We’ve been hearing fireworks around us every night for the last two weeks. So we were expecting quite the show tonight…

And we weren’t disappointed…

And here are all the little videos I captured combined into one long video…

And then the fireworks we could see out of our windows were done. We could hear all sorts of fireworks going off all around our house until very early in the morning. We just couldn’t see them.

We hope everyone had a happy and safe Fourth of July. πŸ˜€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€οΈ

A Tuesday in Northside.

Good morning from Northside…

Before we started working this morning, we walked down to Blue Jay for breakfast…

Because it’s the most important meal of the day…

Genifer ordered a half-order of french toast, and I ordered biscuit and gravy…

Breakfast was delicious. Blue Jay is always so good. We don’t eat there nearly enough. We need to really work on changing that.

When we were walking home, we noticed there was a mural started on the front of Schaeper’s Pharmacy…

And there was some sidewalk chalk art

They put down asphalt over the new water main on our street

It looks like they’re pretty much done working on our street.

And good evening from Northside…

Constructing Northside, part two.

The Cincinnati Water construction crew arrived on our street early this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

I grabbed a lot of image captures of all the construction from our third-floor WyzeCam…

Suddenly, the skies opened up and there was a torrential downpour…

And just as suddenly as it started raining, it stopped raining…

And that was pretty much it for today…

I also took these time-lapse videos from our third-floor WyzeCam as well…

When we were on our evening dog walk, we saw this machine…

Good evening from Northside…

They changed the signs…

It looks like they’re going to working on our street next week too. They left this pile of bricks on the side of street. They were the original cobblestone bricks from our street that were still under the asphalt. We snagged a bunch of them…

We’ll find something to use them for in our backyard. It’ll be really neat to have the original bricks from our street in our backyard. πŸ˜¬πŸš§πŸ’¦β€οΈ

Constructing Northside.

The sign said they were supposed to start construction work on our street today. They city has been replacing the water mains on our side of Northside. Pretty much most everyone moved their cars up to the end of the street in anticipation of the work…

Good morning from Northside…

There were a couple of stragglers still parked on our street this morning…

Mid-morning, we were still waiting for the work to begin…

Finally mid-afternoon, a guy was walking a pavement cutter down our street…

And that was pretty much all the action that we saw all day. Come to find out that they were working at the very South end of our street…

Good evening from Northside…

They have a lot of work to do if they’re going to be done by Friday. πŸ˜¬πŸš§πŸ’¦β€οΈ

Hello from Northside.

Good morning from Northside…

We set up one of our extra WyzeCams in our second-floor window looking out towards our backyard…

Our backyard is so pretty and peaceful, especially in the morning…

And good evening from Northside…

It was just your average uneventful Tuesday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β€οΈ

Working from home: Day 1.

On Friday, Grey Midwest had a trial run of all employees working from home. About half way through the day, it was recommended that all Grey Midwest employees should work from home until further notice. So this morning was the first official day of my working from home. Thankfully, we have our terrific little work space setup on our second floor, and it will finally get put to good use…

I pulled in some dog beds from upstairs and barricaded us in the office…

And I got to have some of my giant Lunchables I got at the grocery for lunch…

Everything worked really well. And it was so nice and quiet. Our internet was able to keep up with all the video conference calls and meetings. The dogs were really good all day. And I continue to make small adjustments to my working from home set-up but I’m really feeling it so far…

It’s definitely not terrible. I think I could get used to working from home. πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ’»β€οΈ

For the time being, Genifer still has to go into the office to work. Hopefully, she’ll be able to work from home soon too.

Checking in on the WyzeCams.

It was a very rainy night as you can see from our third-floor WyzeCam

The new iPad that Genifer got me for Christmas came with a free year of Apple TV. So we finished watching the first season of The Morning Show and also watched the latest episode of The Servant, both on Apple TV. While we were watching those on our TV, I was also watching our Mavs get thumped by the Lakers on a little tablet.

It seems that almost everyone has a streaming service. Right now, we do YouTubeTV, Netflix, Disney+, PrimeVideo (free with Amazon Prime), Hulu (free with Sprint), Apple TV (free with my iPad), NBC Sports Gold (for Premier League), ESPN+ and Pluto TV (Pluto is completely free). And they all have apps for our Amazon Fire TV sticks and all of our mobile devices.

I saw a bundle deal where you could get Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+ for $12.99 a month. That’s a great value. Disney is worth it just for The Mandalorian. And I just love ESPN+ for all the extra sporting events. All the soccer alone makes ESPN+ worth it for me. And I’m on my third trip through the thirteen seasons of Ancient Aliens on Hulu. It’s one of my go-to shows to listen to at work.

What’s funny to me is that out of all these streaming services, the one I think I watch the most is Pluto TV. There are just soooo many random channels on Pluto. I love their surfing channel, 4KTV and the slow tv channel. It’s really a pretty incredible service considering that it’s completely free. There is so much stuff.

Anyway, it was such a grey and rainy Friday. It was perfect for binging watching shows. πŸ˜€πŸ“·πŸŒ§οΈπŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

Checking in on the WyzeCams.

Meteorologists were predicting that Cincinnati would get a “wintery mix” starting at 6pm tonight. And they weren’t very far off for once. It started snowing right around 6:15. We watched the snow fall from our third-floor WyzeCam

It’ll be interesting to see what it looks like when we wake up in the morning…

Brrrr. πŸ˜€πŸŒ¨οΈβ„οΈβ€οΈ

UPDATE: And I forgot to take a photo of the snow in the morning. But I’m guessing, it looked quite a bit like this.

Checking in on the WyzeCams.

As I was walking home from the bus stop, I was checking in on the WyzeCams

Genifer made this delicious turkey meatloaf for dinner tonight…

And after dinner, we shut off the lights to head upstairs and our tree looked so pretty…

It’s always good to be home. πŸ˜€πŸ“·πŸ¦ƒπŸŽ„β€οΈ
