Lots of geese.

We work up this morning to more snow…

When we up atop the hill at the end of our street, a pretty big group of geese in their flying V formation flew by in front of us…

And then it was followed by two more Vs, all heading in the same direction…

Interestingly… A group of geese on land is called a gaggle. When they’re in flight, it becomes a skein, team or wedge of geese.

Also, scientists have determined that the V-shaped formation that geese use when migrating serves two important purposes: First, it conserves their energy. Each bird flies slightly above the bird in front of him, resulting in a reduction of wind resistance. The birds take turns being in the front, falling back when they get tired. This lets the geese fly for a long time before they have to stop for rest. The second benefit to the V formation is that it’s easy to keep track of every bird in the group, and may assist with the communication and coordination within the group. Ahhh.. the internet.

Anyway, it was a lot of geese. Good morning from Northside…

Hello moon…

And by this evening, most of our snow had melted again…

Good evening from Northside…

We hadย another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals. This one was Asian Sesame Pulled Pork with broccoli and jasmine riceโ€ฆ

Broccoli is probably my favorite vegetable. The pulled pork had an amazing Asian glaze and the rice was really good too.

And Genifer made almond flour cupcakes with strawberry frosting…

Cupcakes are always terrific. Good evening from our backyard…

Tonight, we watched In Darkness on Netflix. It was pretty good. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ„๏ธ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅก๐Ÿ“บโค๏ธ

The last of the cupcakes.

Good morning from Northside…

I don’t remember what we had for dinner. But we finished the cupcakes

It’s always a little sad when you eat your last cupcake.

Good evening from Northside…

And we played ball in the backyard…

We watched the Grizzlies beat the Bucks by 13 to officially clinched a spot in the Western Conference play-in game against the Portland Trailblazers. It was probably the Grizzlies best win of the bubble. I like the Grizzlies. I think they have the best logo in the NBA. But then again, I just really like bears. So I might be biased. And we watched the Phoenix Suns finish a perfect 8-0 in the NBA bubble as they defeated our Mavericks, 128-102. I’ve been really getting into the NBA bubble games. The officiating has been horrible as ever. But it’s been fun to watch the basketball. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ€โค๏ธ

Slow down and Sunday.

Happy Sunday! Good morning from Northside…

Here’s another photo our new hose, still without any leaks…

Genifer made cupcakes this afternoon…

But before we ate cupcakes, we took the time to slow down and grill…

We were about to grill up a whole bunch of good stuff…

Why does everything always taste sooo good off the grill?

Recently, we stopped buying hamburger and hot dog buns. We could never eat them all and we would end up throwing a bunch of them away. We found this sweet Hawaiian bread that we really like. It’s really tasty. We’ve just been using that bread for just about much everything. And now, we don’t waste a bunch of buns!

After we finished eating our grilled feat, we went back out in our backyard to play some ball. It was a really pretty afternoon…

Oscar doesn’t really play a lot in the backyard. He prefers to go on walks instead of running around in the backyard. The only time he really runs in the backyard is if a squirrel wanders into our backyard. Mostly, he just likes to sit on the patio and take it all in. But sometimes, he’ll leave his patio and go out and sit out in the sun…

Later, we went on our evening dog walk…

Good evening from Northside…

It was a really nice and relaxing Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ—“๏ธ๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Two each per customer.

We ran over to the grocery this morning. And we were pleasantly surprised by our trip today. They really restocked since the last time we went about a week ago. And they had these signs all over the store…

There werenโ€™t nearly as many empty shelves as there were last time. And it wasnโ€™t too busy. But there were still a surprising number of people at the grocery at 8am on a Friday morning. And we saw these Hostess Baseball Cupcakes….

Day Game and Night Game cupcakes. We should have got some cupcakes.

There were a lot of check-out lanes open this morning. And they alternated lanes so it was one open, one closed. They also added a bunch of floor stickers to show six feet for social distancing at check-out.

And a LOT of people were wearing masks and latex gloves. Some people were wearing bandanas and the elbow-length gloves used to wash dishes. And that was the oddest thing about our trip.

Other than that, it was a pretty normal trip to Kroger. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ›๏ธโค๏ธ

What is that, velvet?

This is beautiful. What is that, velvet

Genifer brought home red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿงโค๏ธ

Deskey chili cookoff.

At work today, there was a Deskey chili cookoff

There were even celebrity guest judges from Arnold’s because everything has to be a dang competition…

And Becky was the winner with her #4 chili…

And then there were cupcakes for January birthdays…

And we also revealed our Deskey Secret Valentines. It made for a pretty fun afternoon. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ–๏ธโค๏ธ
