A tour of Northside eats.

The sunrise was pretty this morning…

We had to move our cars this morning because they were supposed to start working on our street…

Before we moved our cars, we stopped for coffee at Sidewinder

We found parking spots for both of our cars around the corner on Pullan Street…

And then we took the dogs on their morning walk…

Good morning from Northside…

I got a cinnamon roll for breakfast at Sidewinder…

At lunchtime, there still wasn’t any work taking place on our street…

We walked to back over to Morsel & Nosh for lunch…

We saw on their Instagram that they had a Cubano sammich as a special today. And it looked delicious

It was every bit as delicious as it looked. We love our lunches for Morsel & Nosh.

And for dinner, we walked down to Gulow Street

We met our neighbor friends at Gulow Street. And while we were there, we ran into our other neighbors and got to talk to them for a while. Now we have two neighbor friends on our street.

Good night from Northside…

We love our neighborhood. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜•οΈπŸ₯ͺπŸ”πŸΎβ€οΈ

Over on Gulow Street.

Good morning from Northside…

We ran over to Lowe’s again this morning…

We stopped for coffee at Dunkin…

And then we got to work in our backyard…

We had many, many bags of pea gravel to dump…

Three hours later…

We got cleaned up and headed to over to check out a new restaurant that just opened up in Northside called Gulow Street

Genifer ordered Sesame Noodles…

And I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese…

The food at Gulow Street is sooo good. We can’t wait to come back to try more of their menu.

We were inspired by their decor. We’re going to start keeping at eye out for random, inexpensive works of art to hang in our dining room…

It’s always fun when new places open in your neighborhood. Especially when they’re as good as Gulow Street…

We can’t wait for our next visit to try a couple of those sammiches.

On our way home, we stopped at Northside Tavern for a drink…

Good evening from Northside…

It was a great start to the long holiday weekend. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ‘πŸœπŸ»πŸ–ΌοΈβ€οΈ

Saturday, March 20th.

Today was the first day of Spring. And it felt like it…

We walked to Blue Jay for lunch…

We walked over to Boswell’s Alley to watch Michigan’s first round tournament game against Texas Southern. After the game, we stopped to have a few drinks at Northside Tavern. And on the way home, we picked up hoagies from NYPD. We had a really good Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸŒπŸ»β™₯️

A Tuesday in Northside.

Good morning from Northside…

Before we started working this morning, we walked down to Blue Jay for breakfast…

Because it’s the most important meal of the day…

Genifer ordered a half-order of french toast, and I ordered biscuit and gravy…

Breakfast was delicious. Blue Jay is always so good. We don’t eat there nearly enough. We need to really work on changing that.

When we were walking home, we noticed there was a mural started on the front of Schaeper’s Pharmacy…

And there was some sidewalk chalk art

They put down asphalt over the new water main on our street

It looks like they’re pretty much done working on our street.

And good evening from Northside…

πŸ˜€πŸ—“οΈβ€οΈ

Constructing Northside, part three.

The construction crew was back at it early this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

They were working on finishing the upper end of our street today…

They were out of view of our WyzeCams all day. Good evening from Northside…

They almost finished our street today. And that was all of our excitement on a Monday. We had leftovers from the grill for dinner. πŸ˜¬πŸš§πŸ’¦β€οΈ

Constructing Northside, part two.

The Cincinnati Water construction crew arrived on our street early this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

I grabbed a lot of image captures of all the construction from our third-floor WyzeCam…

Suddenly, the skies opened up and there was a torrential downpour…

And just as suddenly as it started raining, it stopped raining…

And that was pretty much it for today…

I also took these time-lapse videos from our third-floor WyzeCam as well…

When we were on our evening dog walk, we saw this machine…

Good evening from Northside…

They changed the signs…

It looks like they’re going to working on our street next week too. They left this pile of bricks on the side of street. They were the original cobblestone bricks from our street that were still under the asphalt. We snagged a bunch of them…

We’ll find something to use them for in our backyard. It’ll be really neat to have the original bricks from our street in our backyard. πŸ˜¬πŸš§πŸ’¦β€οΈ

Tag! You’re it.

Tag! You’re it. I probably have questionable tone everyday. πŸ˜€πŸ–ŒοΈβ€οΈ

Another good Saturday.

Good morning from Northside…

We stopped at Biggby for our weekend morning coffee…

We ran over to Home Depot to get some more stuff for our front yard…

Like this tomato and citronella…

This was our first trip to Home Depot in a long time. And it was also our last trip to Home Depot after we heard they pledged to back Orangey McLiarface’s bid for re-election in November. I should have guessed it with all the orange at Home Depot. We’ll just be shopping at Lowe’s from now on.

On our way back home, there was a train going by overhead…

We got this cute little shrub and planter at Home Depot with our gift card…

After working on our front yard, we fired up the grill…

Those burgers were from Whole Foods and they were out of this world good.

I think it would be interesting to do a coffee table book about the alleys in Northside…

Good evening from Northside…

We also planted some little purple flowers in front of our bricks…

Our front yard is looking a lot better than it did a year ago…

We had another pretty good Saturday. πŸ˜€πŸ—“οΈβ€οΈ

Northside nubs.

How cool would it be to renovate and live in this old church on Chase Street?

Actually, I’m kind of surprised it hasn’t been turned into a brewery or a bar yet. πŸ˜€β›ͺ️❀️

Seen and noted.

The little Northside Rock Dragon was still sitting on its rock on Pullan Avenue…

We still check on him almost every time we go on a dog walk. And he makes me smile every time I see him. πŸ˜€πŸ‰β€οΈ

UPDATE: I tried to take a few better photos of the Northside Rock Dragon…
