Snopacalypse.

It figures that the one “big” snow storm of the winter so far fell on Valentine’s Day and we’re caught out wandering around Northside. It was the first real accumulation of the winter. But it still really wasn’t that much snow at all. After it was all said and done, we might got a couple of inches. Still, it was pretty darn fun getting to drive in the snow. It’s something that I rarely get the opportunity to do anymore. Cincinnati definitely doesn’t get anywhere near as much snow as where I grew up in Michigan. Up there, they would’ve hardly batted an eye at this small amount of snow…

We made it home from the Northside safe and sound. No problems.

And then we took Oscar out for a walk in the white stuff…

I’m glad we both have President’s Day off tomorrow. It’s messy out there. 🙂

Winter wonderland.

It was really snowy in downtown Cincinnati this afternoon…

I don’t think I’ve ever seen snowflakes that big. I looked like someone was standing above my window emptying out a gigantic bag of feathers. I could have just sat there all day and just watched it snow.

So here’s your moment of Zen for the day…

But then it was done…

Downtown Cincinnati is always so pretty when it’s snowing. Heck, Downtown Cincinnati is always pretty to me. 🙂

A snowy Friday evening.

Photos from our Friday evening around downtown Cincinnati…

We were supposed to be on the receiving end of a sizable snopacalypse this evening…

Friday nights at Americano, it’s almost becoming a tradition…

With the impending threat of the White Death, we were really surprised just how many people were at Americano…

Tonight, we shared The Porkopolis burger…

Double crispy bacon and double sharp cheddar with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Delicious! And Genifer had a cup of their tomato soup which was outstanding…

Apparently, there’s a new place going in right next to Americano on Race Street…

The big snow storm that was supposed to dump on Cincinnati missed us to the south, and downtown was just dusted in a layer of the cold white stuff…

On the way home, we stopped by Horse & Barrel for a drink…

It was another fun Friday night in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂

We got some more snow overnight. And once again, downtown Cincinnati was transformed into a winter wonderland for the morning commute…

And I grabbed a couple of quick videos of it snowing when I got to work.

Brrrrr. And… I was the third person into the office this morning.

Snow squall.

It was lightly snowing outside when I got to work this morning…

Genifer texted me to tell me that a sudden squall of heavy snow created whiteout conditions that just caused a 40-vehicle pile-up on I-74 near the Indiana-Ohio state line. And that the squall was just minutes away from enveloping downtown. Sure enough, minutes later, the snow squall started blowing through. I watched it from my window at work, and I captured a few videos of it on my Instagram that I uploaded to my Flickr…

It’s crazy how the snow completely blocked out Carew Tower, PNC Tower and Fifth Third Center just a few blocks away…

I also captured a little bit longer video of the squall as well…

And then just as quickly as it started, it was gone. And everything was back to normal.

I couldn’t imagine trying to drive in something like that. 😦

Winter wonderland.

The temperatures dropped overnight. And we got our first real snow of the winter. When we woke up this morning, it was raining but that quickly turned to snow. And it was really coming down out there…

When Oscar and I went on our morning walk, downtown was a winter wonderland…

Brrrr. Baby, it’s cold outside. 🙂

We were supposed to get our first snowstorm overnight. Last night before falling asleep, Genifer said she saw it snowing. When we woke up this morning, we had snow.
