A super Saturday.

This afternoon Genifer and I took my parents over to check out Americano Burger Bar for lunch…

After some delicious burgers, it was time for some shuffleboard…

Apparently, I was the weakest link at shuffleboard. No team I was on won a game. :/ After Americano, we walked down to Moerlein Lager House for a beer. On the way down to The Banks, we passed Carol Ann’s Carousel, which rather surprisingly, we still haven’t been to as of yet…

I completely forgot to take a photo of us cheersing at Moerlein Lager House. Later in the evening, we stopped into Bru Burger Bar to share some nachos. And another round of beers…

It was a great and delicious Saturday in downtown Cincinnati with my parents. 🙂

Crossing Main Street at Eighth looking south…

And the Artworks mural on Eighth Street that reproduces an original masterpiece by wildlife artist and conservationist, John A. Ruthven. The mural shows Martha, the last passenger pigeon, and her flock soaring over historic Bird Run at the Cincinnati Zoo…

It serves as a daily reminder to downtown residents, workers and visitors of the importance of wildlife conservation and the reality of extinction. It’s one of my favorites out of all the Artworks murals around Cincinnati. I marvel at the detail and am awe of the talent it took to complete this mural everytime I walk passed it.

🙂

Lunch at Americano.

After running some errands around downtown, we stopped back into Americano to share a burger for a late lunch. Because it wouldn’t be a weekend if we didn’t stop in for a delicious burger from Americano. This time we tried The Mexican topped with Rafa’s guac, fried jalapeños, pepper jack, queso fresco and mayo. And after a few chuckles about ordering Mexican at Americano, it was set down in front of us…

We got it with cajun fries, of course. And onion rings…

It’s such good stuff. The Mexican might just be my new favorite burger at Americano. Also not pictured were the order of their amazing wings with the house rub. We also ran into our friends Corey and Amy, who were also at Americano for an early dinner. It was fun to get to hang out with them for a little bit before we see them in Jamaica! 🙂

Fountain Square.

With it being so warm today, we were kind of surprised there was actually still ice for ice skating on Fountain Square. Regardless of the temperature, there are always people ice skating on the Square. Always. 🙂

Seen and noted.

When we were walking home from Nicholson’s, we saw Chris Young’s tour buses outside of the Aronoff Center waiting to load up after his show tonight…

Genifer really likes her some musical stylings of Chris Young. 🙂

Nation Kitchen & Bar.

Tonight, we walked up into Pendleton just passed the casino to go celebrate Genifer’s first day at her new job at Nation. It’s been a minute since we were last at Nation, and that’s much too long…

We finally got to try Nation’s fried bologna sammich…

And it was outstanding! Of course, we got some loaded tots to go with our sammich…

The courtyard behind Nation is very pretty.

And I love my little urban alleys…

You really can’t beat Nation. You can’t beat it at all. 🙂

Downtown details.

I had to run a few errands around downtown Cincinnati this afternoon, and took a few photos along the way. You could do a whole photo series on just the incredibly beautiful ornate doors of buildings in downtown Cincinnati…

Rumor has it that this decaying old parking garage has been slated for demolition to make way for a new something…

There’s another Jimmy Johns coming to downtown!

This one is opening at the corner of Vine and Sixth Streets.
The other one is all the way down in The Banks.

Later, Oscar and I went our evening dog walk. And the moon was huge tonight…

🙂

A snowy Friday evening.

Photos from our Friday evening around downtown Cincinnati…

We were supposed to be on the receiving end of a sizable snopacalypse this evening…

Friday nights at Americano, it’s almost becoming a tradition…

With the impending threat of the White Death, we were really surprised just how many people were at Americano…

Tonight, we shared The Porkopolis burger…

Double crispy bacon and double sharp cheddar with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Delicious! And Genifer had a cup of their tomato soup which was outstanding…

Apparently, there’s a new place going in right next to Americano on Race Street…

The big snow storm that was supposed to dump on Cincinnati missed us to the south, and downtown was just dusted in a layer of the cold white stuff…

On the way home, we stopped by Horse & Barrel for a drink…

It was another fun Friday night in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂

#snOMG.

We got some more snow overnight. And once again, downtown Cincinnati was transformed into a winter wonderland for the morning commute…

And I grabbed a couple of quick videos of it snowing when I got to work.
Click on the photos below to see the videos…

Brrrrr.  And… I was the third person into the office this morning.
Because I didn’t have to mess with driving in this mess. 🙂
