My Favorite Year.

This evening our friend Jen was in a production of the classic musical comedy, My Favorite Year at the Aronoff Center presented by Cincinnati Music Theatre. We’ve never known anyone in an on-stage musical production so we had to go check it out. Genifer met me downtown before the performance, we got to check out the Cincy Holiday Pop-Shop and then we stopped for a drink before the performance at one of our favorite spots from when we still used to live downtown, Horse&Barrel

It’s one of Genifer’s favorite spots because she loves their Cold One & Old One…

It’s a draft beer and a little bourbon for just $5…

I don’t know why that photo is so fuzzy. I guess I should have cleaned my lens better. After our Cold One & Old One, we walked across the street to the Aronoff Center’s Jarson Kaplan Theater…

There’s our friend Jen…

We had really nice seats in one of the boxes overlooking the stage…

We sat in almost the same seats whenย we saw the Mersey Beatles in the same theater…

I snuck a couple of photos with my Polaroid CUBE+…

It was a good performance and our friend Jen was very, very good in her role…

On our way home from the performance, we stopped at Higher Gravity to try their latest special keg,ย Double Dunk by Prairie Ales, an Imperial Stout made with real Oreos!

It was a very good stout. I could have used about six or so more Oreos. They tasted so good when you dunked them in the stout. It made for a great nightcap to a really fun Friday evening. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽญโค๏ธ

Five years ago tonight…

We saw the best musical we’ve ever seen, Jersey Boys

Best. Show. Ever. It’s hard to believe it hasn’t returned to Cincinnati in five years.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽ™๏ธโค๏ธ

V’s Cafe Wednesday Grillout.

I was walking back to work from getting my hair cut, and I stumbled across V’s Cafe Wednesdayย Grillout on the little plaza at the corner of Walnut and Seventh Streets just outside of the Aronoff Center for the Arts…

It came down to the Rib Eye Sandwich or the Mushroom & Swiss Burger…

I made a good decision. It was a great burger for just $6. I can’t wait to check out the next V’s Grillout Wednesday!ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ”โค๏ธ

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

Tonight, we went to see the broadway musical version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Aronoff Center

We had really nice seats for the show…

It was really a pretty good show. Pretty true to the film. It made the jump from animation to live action pretty well. They added a few songs that were kind of annoying. The performer that played Gaston really stole the show for us. He was spot on. We were happy we got to see Beauty and the Beast live. But if it came back to town, we probably wouldn’t go see it again. It definitely wasn’t a Lion King. Next season, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is coming to the Aronoff Center so we’ll have to see where that one ranks amongst these two. ๐Ÿ™‚

Seen and noted.

When we were walking home from Nicholson’s, we saw Chris Young’s tour buses outside of the Aronoff Center waiting to load up after his show tonight…

Genifer really likes her someย musical stylings of Chris Young. ๐Ÿ™‚

Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer: The Musical.

Tonight, we had tickets to see Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musicalย at the Aronoff Center…ย

It was a super cute show! “She said I’m cute! I’m CUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!” ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a sign.

For Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer The Musical at the Aronoff Center

It’s one of my all-time favorite Christmas holiday specials. Rudolph and The Grinch. I really can’t wait to see this live! ๐Ÿ™‚
