A foggy evening.

It was very foggy around downtown Cincinnati this evening. Probably something to with snow being on the ground and the air being a bit warmer than it was yesterday. I don’t really fully understand the perfect conditions for creating fog. But whatever those conditions are, they were in overdrive this evening…

Later you could hardly even see the top of the tower crane across the street…

Yep. It was a pretty foggy evening in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂

Snopacalypse.

It figures that the one “big” snow storm of the winter so far fell on Valentine’s Day and we’re caught out wandering around Northside. It was the first real accumulation of the winter. But it still really wasn’t that much snow at all. After it was all said and done, we might got a couple of inches. Still, it was pretty darn fun getting to drive in the snow. It’s something that I rarely get the opportunity to do anymore. Cincinnati definitely doesn’t get anywhere near as much snow as where I grew up in Michigan. Up there, they would’ve hardly batted an eye at this small amount of snow…

We made it home from the Northside safe and sound. No problems.

And then we took Oscar out for a walk in the white stuff…

I’m glad we both have President’s Day off tomorrow. It’s messy out there. 🙂

Another fun Saturday night at Americano.

Cleve and Alyssa came downtown for a visit this evening. We went out to get a burger with them at Americano Burger Bar. It’s Saturday. Where else would we go?

Cheers!

Tonight, we tried the Argentinian topped with chimichurri, grilled onions, provolone cheese and mayo…

It might just be our new favorite burger at Americano. Delicious stuff! And then we took on Cleve and Alyssa in a couple matches of shuffleboard…

And we lost them both. I don’t think I’ve won a game of shuffleboard at Americano yet…

But Americano’s always a good time with those delicious burgers and the shuffleboard. And it was great to get to hang out with Cleve and Alyssa again.

Fun night. 🙂

Saturday morning in downtown Cincinnati. Oscar had an appointment to get his shots updated at Plum Street Pet Clinic all the way over on the other side downtown…

It’s frustrating to walk around downtown sometimes. It seems like every time we walk somewhere downtown you see multiple cars running red lights. Or if they don’t run the light, they stop right smack dap in the middle of the crosswalk…

We still haven’t been able to figure out why there was a Wisconsin Badger coach outside the Hilton…

Oscar was a brave little dog and survived his shots.

We saw this girl carrying this bear that was almost as big as she was…

🙂

Winter wonderland.

It was really snowy in downtown Cincinnati this afternoon…

I don’t think I’ve ever seen snowflakes that big. I looked like someone was standing above my window emptying out a gigantic bag of feathers.  I could have just sat there all day and just watched it snow.

So here’s your moment of Zen for the day…

But then it was done…

Downtown Cincinnati is always so pretty when it’s snowing. Heck, Downtown Cincinnati is always pretty to me. 🙂

A superb Sunday.

Today, my parents, Genifer and I walked up into Over-the-Rhine for lunch. Along the way, we stopped in to check out Elm & Iron on Vine Street…

And there’s a dang Swiss gondola in the store…

Which could be yours if the Price is Right…

They have such unique stuff at Elm & Iron. I don’t know who can afford most of it. But unique nonetheless. From there we headed over to Taft’s Ale House for lunch…

The Huntsman Stew my dad ordered was really on point…

And so was the chicken sammich Genifer and I shared…

We had another beer at Taft’s Ale House down in the lower level at Nellie’s Tap Room. And then headed over to have a drink at Nation Kitchen and Bar in Pendleton…

There are some really gorgeous building in Over-the-Rhine. These two are on Main Street…

On the way home, we swung through Horseshoe Casino. Mom walked out the casino with more money than she had when she walked. And that always makes for a good day!

We made it home just in time for the start of the Superb Owl because after all, it is…

Mom brought Polish Mistakes, or Hanky Pankies as Genifer like to call them…

And bacon-wrapped water chestnuts…

And I made these pepperoni balls for the big game…

It was a really great and delicious weekend with my parents! We crammed a lot of stuff in to just a couple of days! We can’t wait to see them again when we get married in Jamaica in just a couple weeks! 🙂

A super Saturday.

This afternoon Genifer and I took my parents over to check out Americano Burger Bar for lunch…

After some delicious burgers, it was time for some shuffleboard…

Apparently, I was the weakest link at shuffleboard. No team I was on won a game. :/ After Americano, we walked down to Moerlein Lager House for a beer. On the way down to The Banks, we passed Carol Ann’s Carousel, which rather surprisingly, we still haven’t been to as of yet…

I completely forgot to take a photo of us cheersing at Moerlein Lager House. Later in the evening, we stopped into Bru Burger Bar to share some nachos. And another round of beers…

It was a great and delicious Saturday in downtown Cincinnati with my parents. 🙂

Crossing Main Street at Eighth looking south…

And the Artworks mural on Eighth Street that reproduces an original masterpiece by wildlife artist and conservationist, John A. Ruthven. The mural shows Martha, the last passenger pigeon, and her flock soaring over historic Bird Run at the Cincinnati Zoo…

It serves as a daily reminder to downtown residents, workers and visitors of the importance of wildlife conservation and the reality of extinction. It’s one of my favorites out of all the Artworks murals around Cincinnati. I marvel at the detail and am awe of the talent it took to complete this mural everytime I walk passed it.

🙂

Fountain Square.

With it being so warm today, we were kind of surprised there was actually still ice for ice skating on Fountain Square. Regardless of the temperature, there are always people ice skating on the Square. Always. 🙂
