Nashville Hot.
This afternoon we drove out to Crescent Springs, Kentucky to pay a visit to Nashville Hot. They serve up authentic Nashville-style hot chicken with a custom spice blend and southern-inspired sides. To be honest with you, I’ve never heard of Nashville-style hot chicken until that colonel started trying to shove his KFC Nashville Hot chicken down my throat. 
Apparently, Nashville Hot opened back at the beginning of February. But I didn’t hear about them until they recently hosted a tap takeover with Braxton Brewing Company. Let’s check it out…
Genifer ordered a house salad and added two boneless chicken tenders. And I ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich on Texas Toast with a side of baked mac ‘n cheese. Throw in a couple of Braxton Storms, and there’s our lunch…
I had mine with the Southern Heat and Genifer had the Midwest Medium heat. The Southern Heat definitely lived up to its name, but next time I’m going all in on the Nashville Hot. There really wasn’t a good way to eat this sammich. But it was such delicious stuff!
We can’t wait to come back to eat more amazing chicken at Nashville Hot. 🙂

FC Cincinnati.
This afternoon FC Cincinnati was having a 20% off sale on all FC|C merchandise at their store on Fourth Street…
Genifer added a hoodie to her FC|C wardrobe, and I added a t-shirt. And we both picked up FC Cincinnati home jerseys! We have our fingers crossed for nice weather for the reserve match against University of Dayton on Tuesday. But regardless of the weather, we’ll be at Nippert Stadium to watch FC Cincinnati’s inaugural home game on Saturday. And we couldn’t possibly be more excited. 🙂

The perfect end to a perfect evening.
After the Reds win, we walked up to Mainstay Rock Bar to check out You, You’re Awesome…
Awesome. And after YYA, BAD VEINS were playing!!! Both of us absolutely adore this band.
It was the first time Genifer had ever seen Bad Veins live. And they were outstanding,
as usual. This was just one of the magical nights in downtown Cincinnati. And without
a doubt in my mind, it was the best first date I’ve ever had in my life. Swoon.

Our very first date.
Tonight, my new friend Genifer and I went to see game two of the Reds-Marlins series
(also known Reds baseball game #6 of the season for me)…
And we got to see Aroldis Chapman throw…
It was Joey Votto booblehead night. And there was a huge crowd on hand…
And unfortunately, we didn’t get to the ballpark soon enough to get our bobbleheads. 😦
But the Reds scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie up the game.
Then in the bottom of the tenth, the Reds had the bases loaded with no outs and the Marlins
brought in their center-fielder to play as a fifth infielder. You don’t see that too often.
And Edgar Renteria had the walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth. Reds win 4-3!!!
What a great game with some pretty spectacular company.
This was our very first official date. We went on a midweek pre-date to get pizza at Uno in Anderson Township. That went really well and we decided to go ahead with tonight’s actual first date at the Reds game.
