Winter wonderland?

We were supposed to get our first snowstorm overnight. Last night before falling asleep, Genifer said she saw it snowing. When we woke up this morning, we had snow.

Just not very much of it. At all…

This was the most accumulation I could find on our walk this morning…

So much for our first snow storm. But it sure is cold. Brrr. :/

Back to Americano.

We went back to Americano Burger Bar tonight to try some of their wings…

We got them with the house rub. And they were amazing!

And of course, we had to share an Americano burger…

Delicious. Definitely, one of the best burgers downtown. Hands down. On the way home, we said hello to the Carew Tower…

Taken with Instagram. 🙂

Low Spark.

We were out again taking care of some last minute gift shopping in Over-the-Rhine, and afterwards we stopped in to check out 4EG’s newest bar, Low Spark on Republic Street…

It’s not a very big place at all…

The focal point of Low Spark is the octopus tank behind the bar…

But we didn’t really get to see the octopus. We were told it usually comes out after midnight.  We hung out for a little bit and had a couple of ciders…

Really cool place. It seemed very chill. Next time we’re in the neighborhood, we’ll definitely stop in for a drink. And next time, we’ll have to try a cocktail or two because their cocktail list looks pretty dang amazing. 🙂

Constructing Cincinnati.

Over the last few days, they’ve been very quickly erecting a new tower crane across the street from us for the construction of the new parking garage on Sycamore Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets…

And when I was walking home from work this evening, it looks like they have it completely finished and ready to start constructing stuff…

Geez, that thing is tall. Like waaay up there. I think it’s even taller than the one they put up to build Seven at Broadway. I would NOT like to have to be the guy that has to climb up and down that monster each and every day. But then, I really don’t like heights. 🙂

Back to Americano.

We went back to Americano Burger Bar tonight to celebrate Genifer turning in the last project of her Masters program. And with that she is officially done with school! HOORAY!

We shared another delicious Americano Burger with cajun fries…

With hand-battered onion rings…

Chef Christian sent us over an order of their chips and guacamole…

Delicious stuff! What a great way to celebrate! 🙂

Seen and noted.

It’s a bit late, but I saw my first Rudolph car of the season on my walk to work today!

Hooray! Those are fun. 🙂

Americano Burger Bar.

Tonight, we went over to check out the brand new Americano Burger Bar on Race Street in downtown Cincinnati. Americano is the latest concept from Chef Christian Pietoso who owns both Via Vite on Fountain Square and Forno Osteria in Hyde Park…

The ceiling is pretty spectacular…

An American flag made completely out of Budweiser and Miller Lite cans…

We shared the Americano Burger, not pink with a half-order of the cajun seasoned fries…

And the mini corn dogs, which turned out to be not so mini at all…

The burger was outstanding. Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had downtown. The mini corn dogs we really delicious as well. And we wished we would have ordered a full order of the cajun seasoned fries. They were incredible. Delicious stuff!

After we finished our burger, it was time for some shuffleboard…

Americano is fantastic. The burgers are out of this world. There’s a great draft beer list. And how can you possibly go wrong with shuffleboard? I see this place quickly becoming one of our favorite go-tos.

Downtown details.

Someone did a drawling in the dirt on the front window of the old Dennison Hotel on Main Street…

Downtown details.

On our way to Redsfest, we couldn’t help but notice that it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Cincinnati. The Olympic Garage…

In the lobby of the Westin…

The big holiday tree on the Square

And in Carew Tower…

And then after Redsfest, we got a closer look at the tree on the Square…

And Arnold’s is also looking very festive…

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂

Downtown details.

Heading off to work…

Heading home from work…

And walking Oscar down to Lytle Park…

We were pretty low-key today. 🙂
