Happy birthday to Cincinnati’s Union Terminal!

A very happy birthday to Cincinnati’s Union Terminal and all our friends over at Cincinnati Museum Center. Work started on Union Terminal all the way back in August of 1929. It was completed and officially opened to the public 83 years ago today!

Remember when Genifer and I got to go on a behind the scenes tour of Union Terminal? And all the #VoteYESon8 #VoteYesUT support to get Union Terminal the restoration help it so desperately needs?

Happy birthday to a historic Cincinnati treasure. Here’s to another 83 years! 🙂

It’s what’s for dinner.

Genifer made this amazing, homemade deep dish pizza for dinner tonight…

It was really delicious stuff! 🙂

Cyclones hockey game #14.

Tonight, we went to our 14th Cyclones hockey game of the season at US Bank Arena. The Cyclones were playing host to the Fort Wayne Komets. And it was the last of the $2 Tall Boy nights…

CYCLONES GOAL! 1-1!

2-1 CYCLONES!!

There were a couple of pigeons flying around inside of US Bank Arena…

At the end of the second period, the game was knotted at 3-3…

The Komets took a 4-3 lead…

And our photo made the big screen again

And the Cyclones ended up losing 5-3. Win or lose, the Cyclones hockey games are always a bunch of fun. 🙂

Look what arrived in the mail today!

Heck yes! The first official home match is Saturday, April 9th. And we can’t wait!
Taken with Instagram. 🙂

Dinner at Sotto.

We’ve been to Sotto a few times. Drinks here and some shared plates there. But for whatever reason, we’ve never gone to Sotto for a full-blown dinner. Maybe it was that there wasn’t an occasion that felt special enough. Maybe it was we just didn’t know what we were missing. With it being a month to the day since we were married in Jamaica, we finally felt like we had an occasion special enough to have dinner at Sotto. And finally use the gift card my sister, Shannon gave us a little while ago…

We started with the goat cheese & hazelnut honey bruschetta…

We shared a prosciutto arugula salad with parmigiano & lemon oil for the antipasta course. And wouldn’t you know, I completely forgot to take a photo of it. Then moved on to main event, the primi… (from the upper left) short rib cappellacci with shallot, amish butter and thyme, tonnarelli cacio e pepe with black pepper and pecorino, and finally, gnocchi alla romana with béchamel, sausage ragu & pecorino…

Unbelievable stuff. Luckily, I didn’t have to try to pronounce any of it. I just pointed. My Italian… she’s a not so good. Our favorite dish was the gnocchi and then the short rib cappellacci. The tonnarelli was delicious as well. It’s just that the other two were just, WOW! Everything had such great flavors. For dessert, we ordered the incredible little ricotta doughnuts that everyone raves about. They came with chocolate, pistachio and salted caramel dipping sauces …

Those things lived up to the hype. They were outstanding. The last amazing little donut…

After dinner, we had a drink at the bar…

What an amazing way to celebrate our first mini wedding anniversary. Thank you, Sotto! And thank you Shannon for the Sotto gift card! 🙂

Happy Easter!

Oscar wishes everyone a Happy Easter! Mostly just so he can take off the bunny ears…

Genifer made me this awesome Easter basket…

We hope everyone had a very safe and Happy Easter. 🙂

Our one month anniversary.

One month ago todaywe were married in Jamaica…

And we finally have all of our photos from Jamaica posted to Flickr. 🙂

#TBT Pause for paws.

I miss the bud dog. It’s hard to believe he’s been gone for five months now. 😦

NCAA Midwest Regional Hockey Championship.

This afternoon we walked down to US Bank Arena to get tickets for this evening’s NCAA Midwest Regional Men’s Ice Hockey Championship between North Dakota and the University of Michigan. Genifer had never been to a college hockey game before, and surprisingly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Michigan play hockey in person…

Somehow, I managed to turn on the date and time stamp on my camera. So that’s lovely…

Michigan brought it’s hockey pep band…

LET’S PLAY HOCKEY!

Our seats were just behind a whole bunch of North Dakota fans who didn’t sit down until after the first whistle…

North Dakota scored the games first goal right at the end of the first period…

And that’s the way the first period ended…

We moved up and over a couple of sections to get away from those North Dakota fans who were a little too into the game. Plus, we like to have a little elbow room and it was a pretty packed US Bank Arena for this championship hockey game…

The puck dropped for the start of the second period…

GOAL MICHIGAN!

But North Dakota retook the lead…

TIE GAME!!

But it all kinda went downhill from their for the Wolverines…

And that’s the way the game would end. 5-2. :/ North Dakota advances to the Frozen Four in Tampa.

Congratulations to North Dakota. It was pretty awesome to get the chance to see a NCAA tournament hockey game! 🙂
