Snopacalypse.

It figures that the one “big” snow storm of the winter so far fell on Valentine’s Day and we’re caught out wandering around Northside. It was the first real accumulation of the winter. But it still really wasn’t that much snow at all. After it was all said and done, we might got a couple of inches. Still, it was pretty darn fun getting to drive in the snow. It’s something that I rarely get the opportunity to do anymore. Cincinnati definitely doesn’t get anywhere near as much snow as where I grew up in Michigan. Up there, they would’ve hardly batted an eye at this small amount of snow…

We made it home from the Northside safe and sound. No problems.

And then we took Oscar out for a walk in the white stuff…

I’m glad we both have President’s Day off tomorrow. It’s messy out there. 🙂

Urban Artifact.

After driving around Northside for a little bit and looking at some houses, we stopped in to check out Urban Artifact. Urban Artifact is a craft brewery with a taproom, full bar and live music venue. The taproom is built in the lower level of the historic St. Patrick’s church on Blue Rock Road in Northside. The brewery is located in the old church gymnasium building just behind the church. Only the taproom was open when we stopped in to check the place out this Sunday afternoon…

Our favorites were the Finn, Tiramisu Cauldron, Kicksled but our very most favorite was Abacus, a Chocolate Raspberry Gose. We had tried it before at Nation with my parentsWe played some Battleship…

When Genifer sunk my little ship, it was all over…

And we played some Connect Four…

Connect Four is a pretty silly game. It’s like the tic-tac-toe of board games. The taproom was pretty empty…

Probably because of the snow storm that was starting to pick-up. But it was a really fun place. A little on the chilly side. Also probably because of the snow storm. But it was a great place with some incredible beers. We can’t wait to come back and check out the rest of Urban Artifact:)

Northside Yacht Club.

We ventured up into Northside to check out Northside Yacht Club for for the first time and maybe get our Valentine’s Day brunch on…

We shared a Valentine’s Day brunch of bacon pancakes topped with bacon served with bourbon infused Ohio maple syrup and home fries. The pancakes were delicious and that syrup was out of this world…

NSYC is a pretty awesome place, and everyone there was so nice and friendly. We really can’t wait to go back to try one of their Sunday Brunch Bloody Marys. They were topped with a pulled pork slider, chicken wing, bacon and a pickle and looked absolutely amazing. The drink that eats like a meal. 🙂

Happy Valentine’s Day!
