Happy President’s Day!

Happy President’s Day! Both Genifer and I had the day off work today for the holiday! And that’s pretty exciting stuff! It’s always exciting to have a three-day weekend.
Thanks, ‘Murica! 👍👌

Snopacalypse.

It figures that the one “big” snow storm of the winter so far fell on Valentine’s Day and we’re caught out wandering around Northside. It was the first real accumulation of the winter. But it still really wasn’t that much snow at all. After it was all said and done, we might got a couple of inches. Still, it was pretty darn fun getting to drive in the snow. It’s something that I rarely get the opportunity to do anymore. Cincinnati definitely doesn’t get anywhere near as much snow as where I grew up in Michigan. Up there, they would’ve hardly batted an eye at this small amount of snow…

We made it home from the Northside safe and sound. No problems.

And then we took Oscar out for a walk in the white stuff…

I’m glad we both have President’s Day off tomorrow. It’s messy out there. 🙂

Urban Artifact.

After driving around Northside for a little bit and looking at some houses, we stopped in to check out Urban Artifact. Urban Artifact is a craft brewery with a taproom, full bar and live music venue. The taproom is built in the lower level of the historic St. Patrick’s church on Blue Rock Road in Northside. The brewery is located in the old church gymnasium building just behind the church. Only the taproom was open when we stopped in to check the place out this Sunday afternoon…

Our favorites were the Finn, Tiramisu Cauldron, Kicksled but our very most favorite was Abacus, a Chocolate Raspberry Gose. We had tried it before at Nation with my parentsWe played some Battleship…

When Genifer sunk my little ship, it was all over…

And we played some Connect Four…

Connect Four is a pretty silly game. It’s like the tic-tac-toe of board games. The taproom was pretty empty…

Probably because of the snow storm that was starting to pick-up. But it was a really fun place. A little on the chilly side. Also probably because of the snow storm. But it was a great place with some incredible beers. We can’t wait to come back and check out the rest of Urban Artifact:)

Northside Yacht Club.

We ventured up into Northside to check out Northside Yacht Club for for the first time and maybe get our Valentine’s Day brunch on…

We shared a Valentine’s Day brunch of bacon pancakes topped with bacon served with bourbon infused Ohio maple syrup and home fries. The pancakes were delicious and that syrup was out of this world…

NSYC is a pretty awesome place, and everyone there was so nice and friendly. We really can’t wait to go back to try one of their Sunday Brunch Bloody Marys. They were topped with a pulled pork slider, chicken wing, bacon and a pickle and looked absolutely amazing. The drink that eats like a meal. 🙂

Happy Valentine’s Day!

❤💕💗💖💞💘💝 🙂

Another fun Saturday night at Americano.

Cleve and Alyssa came downtown for a visit this evening. We went out to get a burger with them at Americano Burger Bar. It’s Saturday. Where else would we go?

Cheers!

Tonight, we tried the Argentinian topped with chimichurri, grilled onions, provolone cheese and mayo…

It might just be our new favorite burger at Americano. Delicious stuff! And then we took on Cleve and Alyssa in a couple matches of shuffleboard…

And we lost them both. I don’t think I’ve won a game of shuffleboard at Americano yet…

But Americano’s always a good time with those delicious burgers and the shuffleboard. And it was great to get to hang out with Cleve and Alyssa again.

Fun night. 🙂

Texas Roadhouse.

It seems like everything to eat around the Madeira/Kenwood area is a chain restaurant. We don’t really spend much time in that part of town. But after picking up Genifer’s newly altered wedding dress in Madeira, we stopped at Texas Roadhouse in Kenwood. Sure, it’s a chain restaurant but it’s a chain restaurant that we’ve never been to before. And up until a couple of weeks ago, it’s a chain restaurant that I’d never even heard of…

Genifer had a garden salad and a cup of chili…

I started with a caesar salad, which disappeared really quickly…

I started with the basket of their “award-winning ribs” with steak fries…

When I saw that they had a starter basket of ribs I just had to try them. I had to to see how they stacked up against what I consider to be the best ribs in Cincinnati which are down at Moerlein Lager House. These were a third of a rack and were really good. Especially for a chain restaurant. They were fall off the bone tender and the sauce was delicious. The only downside was that they pretty fatty. Lager House still has the best ribs, in my opinion. I also tried the Beef Tips: cuts of steak with sautéed mushrooms, onions, brown gravy and sour cream over seasoned rice or mashed potatoes…

It was pretty awesome stuff. The beef tips were very tender, the gravy was delicious and full of mushrooms and the mashed potatoes were so creamy especially after I mixed in the sour cream…

It was a really great lunch. But I ordered way too much food. Next time, I wouldn’t get a starter. I’d just go straight for the main course. But we would definitely stop back into Texas Roadhouse again. Good stuff! 🙂

Wedding details.

Two weeks from today we’ll be getting married!

Genifer picked up her wedding dress from Alterations by Toni in Madeira…

And I ordered my wedding band from Minter + Richter

JUST TWO WEEKS! There’s still a lot to do but we’re so excited and we can’t wait! 🙂

Downtown details.

Saturday morning in downtown Cincinnati. Oscar had an appointment to get his shots updated at Plum Street Pet Clinic all the way over on the other side downtown…

It’s frustrating to walk around downtown sometimes. It seems like every time we walk somewhere downtown you see multiple cars running red lights. Or if they don’t run the light, they stop right smack dap in the middle of the crosswalk…

We still haven’t been able to figure out why there was a Wisconsin Badger coach outside the Hilton…

Oscar was a brave little dog and survived his shots.

We saw this girl carrying this bear that was almost as big as she was…

🙂

Pause for paws.

Genifer went out for a girl’s night happy hour with her friends. My Friday night mood…

It’s been a really long week. 🙂
