Line to enter starts here.

We ran over to Trader Joe’s this morning. We were pretty surprised to see that they were limiting the number of customers to 30 people in the store at a time…

The line wasn’t very long. There were only three or four people ahead of us. Once we got into Trader Joe’s, it was pretty much like having the store to ourselves…

On the way home, we stopped to get coffee from Mad Llama, and we were back home in time for my first meeting of the morning. 😀🛍️☕️❤️

Another rainy Saturday.

This morning we woke up early again to head over to Trader Joe’s before it got too crazy busy on Saturday. The later it gets, the busier it gets. We usually try to get to Trader Joe’s as close to 8am when it open as we can. This morning was our best time
so far. We pulled into their parking lot at 8:02am…

I just thought that little berry bunny was pretty cute. We didn’t get any frozen chocolate cover strawberry pieces though. I wonder if they would be good?

After we were done getting groceries at TJ’s, we headed over to get our Saturday morning coffee at Biggby

Biggby is our reward for getting up and getting groceries out of the way. We both got hot chocolates this morning. Biggby had more student artwork on display on their walls. I really liked the hills with the watercolor skies…

The owl and the elephant were really great too…

And if we had a daughter and named her Niala…

She would be Niala Fiala. Maybe Niala could be a middle name.

Later, we went over to Taft’s Brewpourium for another lunch with our gift cards we got for Christmas…

Taft’s had a new Hazelnut Latte Coffee Milk Stout on tap…

And it was really delicious. We watched the Michigan-Illinois game on our little tablet. We shared a small pizza with pepperoni, sausage and banana peppers…

We also shared some of Taft’s chicken wings…

We had six buffalo wings and six Cherrywood BBQ wings…

I think I really like the Cherrywood BBQ the best. But they’re both really good. And even though, Michigan lost. Again. It was a great lunch. We just love Taft’s pizza and wings.

Later, we started watching a series called 11.22.63 on Hulu. It’s pretty good so far. And even though it was another rainy day, it was another pretty good Saturday. 😀🌨️❤️

Back to Kenwood.

This afternoon we ran back over to Kenwood Town Center. Genifer got me a new iPad for Christmas. We just had to pick it up at the Apple Store. We wandered around for the mall for a bit afterward. Genifer found a new shirt for New Year’s Eve. Other than that, it was pretty uneventful. I did see these very handsome fancy fox sirs…

After walking around the mall, we stopped at Revolution Rotisserie again for lunch. We shared pimento cheese dip, BBQ boneless chicken wings, and some tots…

It was a really good lunch and another fun afternoon during our long holiday break.
😀🦊🐔❤️

Getting in some Christmas shopping.

We both had the day off work today. Genifer doesn’t usually work on Tuesdays and I’ve been trying to use up my vacation days before the end of the year. So this morning, we went and got coffee from Biggby and then went to the mall. The last time I went to the mall was over two years ago…

Do you think this is the last Sbarro on Earth? They used to be everywhere…

It was kinda fun to wander around the mall. We got a few things not a whole bunch. I definitely still have a bunch of Christmas shopping left to do. 😀🛍️❤️

Trader Joe’s pumpkin contest.

This morning we made another early morning run over to Trader Joe’s. When we were checking out, we noticed Trader Joe’s was having an employee pumpkin decorating contest. And they were pretty awesome…

Wow, right?! Genifer’s favorite was the House on Haunted Hill because she loves haunted houses. My favorite was the VW bus pumpkin. 😀🤗🎃💯❤️

Seen and noted.

Seen and noted at Trader Joe’s. 😀🧸❤️

Sunday morning.

We woke up early this morning to get over to Trader Joe’s before it got too crazy…

One of the things we’ve found at Trader Joe’s that we really like are these Bambas…

They are like cheese curls but instead of cheese, they’re peanut butter. Soo good. We got lotsa good stuff…

After we were done at Trader Joe’s, we stopped for breakfast at Wild Eggs

Their menu had lots of good sounding stuff but unfortunately, we aren’t huge breakfast people. We like breakfast just not a lot of it. Genifer got two scrambled eggs and some sausage links…

I ordered just a Belgian waffle…

Everything was really good. We’ll have to build up more of an appetite and head back to try some of the more elaborate offerings at Wild Eggs. 😀🥞❤️

And we were back home by 10:00am.

Saturday morning errands.

This morning we got up and moving and headed over to Trader Joe’s in Kenwood…

We love Trader Joe’s. We’ve become kind of obsessed with their stuff especially their Mandarin Orange Chicken. It’s better almost every takeout Chinese food that we’ve had. And it’s only $4.99. It’s so dang good.

Then we stopped by the new At Home store in Norwood…

I felt like I was in that last scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark

From there, we headed out to The West Side to collect our taxes. We got money back on the federal but we owed the state and city. But we came out ahead. After we got our taxes, we stopped into Meiner’s Fine Meats…

I wanted to try their World Famous Chicken Salad

We a little container of the chicken salad (it was awesome), a little bit of their pasta salad and a couple of these awesome buffalo chicken egg rolls…

Meiner’s has really great stuff. And their meats looked out of this world. We’ll have to go back when it’s a little bit warmer outside when we can grill a bunch of stuff. After we were done at Meiner’s, we stopped a BDubs to share some boneless wings for lunch…

Oh, and mini corn dogs. I love their mini corn dogs…

On the way home from The West Side, we saw this sign for Chester’s Chicken at a Shell gas station on Boudinot…

That chicken is so darn cute. I wonder how the chicken is? It was a really good Saturday morning. We got a lot accomplished and we were still home by one o’clock. 😀🗺️❤️

Genifer had Lasik surgery.

This afternoon Genifer had Lasik surgery at Lasik Plus in Kenwood

She was really nervous but powered through the procedure. We were at the doctor for about forty-five minutes. But the actual procedure only took about ten minutes, and then she was on her way home…

She was told to go home and take a four-hour nap. After she woke up from her nap, she could see just fine without contacts or glasses. She has to put medicated eyedrops in her eyes for the next couple weeks. And she can’t rub her eyes for some time while her eyes heal. But that’s pretty much that. It’s rather amazing what modern medical science can do nowadays. And that are people with the knowledge and intestinal fortitude to perform these procedures. 😀🏥👁️❤️

It’s like a whole new computer.

Last Tuesday, I was updating the operating system on my MacBook from Sierra to High Sierra. The computer went to restart but never powered back on. I tried every keyboard command and trick I could find online. I chatted with Apple support and we couldn’t get it to reboot so this afternoon I brought it to the sea of humanity that is the Apple Store at Kenwood Towne Center to see if they could get me back up and running…

Thankful, they got my computer to power on again. They replaced the battery in my MacBook, and now it’s like a whole brand new computer again! 😀🍏💻🔋❤️
