As empty as the shelves.

We usually do all of our grocery shopping at Kroger. But the last time we were going to get groceries, we noticed there were a lot fewer cars in the Meijer parking lot than in the Kroger parking lot. So this morning, we ran over to Meijer to pick up a few things…

Meijer was surprisingly empty…

And so were the shelves in the paper products aisle. The shortage is still very real…

Thankfully, we’re still good on all our paper products and toiletries. But we were really surprised by just how few people were at Meijer. It was practically just us and these adorable little turtles…

But at least we were able to get a few more things. 😀🧻🐢❤️

Are you ready for some football?

This afternoon, we drove over to Rookwood Commons to go to BJ’s Brewhouse for their awesome Sunday Happy Hour during the final Sunday of the NFL regular season…

We started with a couple of beers. Genifer likes their PM Porter and I usually go for their Tatonka Stout. We also had some mozzarella sticks…

We planned to order more food for lunch but the normally reliable bar service at BJs was just horrendous today. Apparently, the bartender was really hungover and didn’t feel like waiting on anybody. We couldn’t even manage to flag him down to refill our water. So we broke camp and went to Taft’s Brewpourium for pizza and wings…

The pizza and wings were awesome. And our Cowboys won big but the Eagles won too. So the Cowboys will be watching the playoffs with the rest of us. 😀🏈🍺🧀🍕🐔❤️

Saturday morning errands.

This morning we got up and moving and headed over to Trader Joe’s in Kenwood…

We love Trader Joe’s. We’ve become kind of obsessed with their stuff especially their Mandarin Orange Chicken. It’s better almost every takeout Chinese food that we’ve had. And it’s only $4.99. It’s so dang good.

Then we stopped by the new At Home store in Norwood…

I felt like I was in that last scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark

From there, we headed out to The West Side to collect our taxes. We got money back on the federal but we owed the state and city. But we came out ahead. After we got our taxes, we stopped into Meiner’s Fine Meats…

I wanted to try their World Famous Chicken Salad

We a little container of the chicken salad (it was awesome), a little bit of their pasta salad and a couple of these awesome buffalo chicken egg rolls…

Meiner’s has really great stuff. And their meats looked out of this world. We’ll have to go back when it’s a little bit warmer outside when we can grill a bunch of stuff. After we were done at Meiner’s, we stopped a BDubs to share some boneless wings for lunch…

Oh, and mini corn dogs. I love their mini corn dogs…

On the way home from The West Side, we saw this sign for Chester’s Chicken at a Shell gas station on Boudinot…

That chicken is so darn cute. I wonder how the chicken is? It was a really good Saturday morning. We got a lot accomplished and we were still home by one o’clock. 😀🗺️❤️

Big fun Saturday.

I’m not exactly sure how it happened but this afternoon we ended up at BJ’s Brewhouse at Rookwood Commons for lunch…

Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with BJ’s. BJ’s has some really good stuff. We just never really eat there. We’ve been to BJ’s a couple of times back during the NFL playoffs. They had a pretty killer happy hour on Sundays during football season. But that’s the only time we’ve really been here. Yet, today we stopped in for lunch…

Their Tatonka Stout is pretty good, as is their PM Porter. We started with these little stuffed mushrooms. They were really tasty but could have been a little bigger…

BJ’s menu is ridiculously large. If you can think of it, chances are it’s probably on BJ’s rather extensive menu. Genifer got their BJ’s classic chicken sammich

I had BJ’s hand-pulled turkey dip

BJ’s had some delicious stuff. It was a really good lunch. After lunch, we met our friend Tayler at Overlook Lodge in Pleasant Ridge for a drink. Every time we’re at Overlook, I always notice more details. This place is so neat…

But this video was the clincher. Soooo freaking cool. Little details make things amazing. Speaking of amazing… we stopped at Share Cheesebar in PRidge after Overlook…

We got some of the most incredible cheese from Cheesebar. But I don’t remember what it was called. And that’s a shame. We also got this incredible Pimento Cheese…

Holy cow, I love pimento cheese spread!

It was another really fun Saturday. 😀🧀❤️

Genifer got a new phone today.

This morning we got up and went over to the Sprint store at Rookwood Exchange in Norwood. She was more than overdue for an update…

And she decided to move from her Samsung Galaxy S-whatever to her very first iPhone, the new iPhone Xs Max…

Now she’s all super fancy-fancy. 😀📱❤️

Seen and noted.

Just a whale pillow on a bear bean bag…

Why do I have to be an adult? It’s so adorable and looks so comfy. 😀🐳🐻❤️

Home Goods in Rookwood.

This morning we went over to Home Goods at Rookwood Commons. I always find it interesting to wander around inside of Home Goods. They have all sorts of things you never know you needed for your home. I almost got this canvas for our office…

A Halloween mummy mug or a fox wearing glasses mug with legs…

These giraffes were odd but adorable…

As were these pot steam vents…

And the monster on this bag of popcorn…

Who wouldn’t want this huge three-pound bag of gummi bears…

After wandering around Home Goods, we walked to Rusty Bucket again for lunch. Genifer had a burger…

And I had their patty melt…

I love patty melts. 😀🛍️🍔❤️

Quatman Cafe.

This morning we got up kind of early to go over to the Sprint store in Rookwood to get Genifer a new phone. She ended up getting the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Pretty sweet phone. On the way home, we were going to stop by the pretty new Nine Giant Brewery in Pleasant Ridge for lunch. But Nine Giant was stupid packed. At noon. So we decide to stop at Quatman Cafe in Norwood instead. I’ve been living in Cincinnati for all these years, and somehow I’ve never been to Quatman. Quatman Cafe is famous for their burgers. They’re always mentioned whenever the topic of best burger in Cincinnati comes up…

On Saturdays, Quatman Cafe’s special is a burger, fries and a drink for just $7.50…

Just look at that beauty of a burger…

A half pound of beefy, cheesy, delicious goodness…

Quatman Cafe’s burger really is one of the best burgers I’ve had in all of Cincinnati. It’s an amazing burger. I can definitely see why they are always in the conversation for the best burger. And it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from our home. I see many more of these amazing burgers in our future. I can’t wait to enjoy another again very soon. 🙂
