Out in suburbia.

This morning we headed out Ikea in West Chester…

After picking up a few odds and ends at Ikea, we continued on to Liberty Center

After wandering around Liberty Center for a little while, we headed over to Pies & Pints to meet Cleve and Alyssa for lunch…

As the name suggests, Pies & Pints had a bunch of great beers on tap. They didn’t really do tasters or flight but they did do half-pints. We sampled a few of their beers we’ve never tried before. From the right, we tried North High Jalalima Jalapeno Chile Beer, Victory Kirsch Gose, Crooked Stave Petite Sour Rose and Avery Raspberry Sour…

We started with some delicious char-grilled hot wings…

We shared a Classic pie with pepperoni, sausage, roasted mushrooms, banana peppers & tomato sauce…

And a Pine & Swine pie with fresh pineapple, red onions, applewood smoked bacon, feta & tomato sauce…

Pies & Pints has a bunch of great beers and really good pizza pies!

It was a pretty fun afternoon out in suburbia. 🙂

Summer Hours: Rusty Bucket

Today’s Summer Hours were some rainy ones…

Genifer had a doctor’s appointment in Hyde Park and then we planned to go to Island Frydays in Corryville but with all the rain we decided just to get some lunch at Rusty Bucket in Rookwood instead…

We’ll go to Island Frydays on the next Summer Hours when it isn’t pouring down rain.

Miami Township Summer Concert Series: Blues, Brews, & BBQ

This evening we drove out to meet Cleve, Alyssa and Geri at the beautiful and very expansive Miami Riverview Park all the way out in Loveland to check out the first Miami Township Summer Concert Series of the summer: Brews, Blues & BBQ

U-Lucky Dawg, Pickles & Bones BBQ and Loveland Dairy Whip were all at the park dishing up delicious goodness…

We decided to start with some Pickles & Bones BBQ…

We got the brisket and smoked turkey with mac&cheese and spicy baked beans…

Delicious stuff! The plan was to get something from each of the three food trucks but we were stuffed after finishing the BBQ…

And we listened to The Fabulous Blue Brothers Band…

They were pretty fun a pretty fun band!

It was a really fun and something completely different on a Sunday evening. 🙂

Luke Bryan with Brett Eldredge.

Genifer went to see Luke Bryan with Brett Eldredge tonight at Riverbend

It was a girl’s night out for Cathy’s birthday…

It sounded like they had a pretty good time. While she was doing that, I was watching…

Until I went to pick her up but by that point, the game was pretty much over. 🙂 🏀

Graduation party.

Genifer’s sister, Alyssa had a graduation party at their house this evening…

It was such a great time and it was so good to get to hang out with everyone! 🙂

Quatman Cafe.

This morning we got up kind of early to go over to the Sprint store in Rookwood to get Genifer a new phone. She ended up getting the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Pretty sweet phone. On the way home, we were going to stop by the pretty new Nine Giant Brewery in Pleasant Ridge for lunch. But Nine Giant was stupid packed. At noon. So we decide to stop at Quatman Cafe in Norwood instead. I’ve been living in Cincinnati for all these years, and somehow I’ve never been to Quatman. Quatman Cafe is famous for their burgers. They’re always mentioned whenever the topic of best burger in Cincinnati comes up…

On Saturdays, Quatman Cafe’s special is a burger, fries and a drink for just $7.50…

Just look at that beauty of a burger…

A half pound of beefy, cheesy, delicious goodness…

Quatman Cafe’s burger really is one of the best burgers I’ve had in all of Cincinnati. It’s an amazing burger. I can definitely see why they are always in the conversation for the best burger. And it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from our home. I see many more of these amazing burgers in our future. I can’t wait to enjoy another again very soon. 🙂

Bad news. Good news.

There aren’t very many things I miss about living downtown. Not many at all. I thought there would be more. But there just aren’t. One of the few things I miss is the ability to have Jet’s Pizza delivered. It’s kind of a weird thing to miss. But I just really love their pizza. And there really isn’t a Jet’s close to us in Northside. It’s kind of a bummer. But what are you going to do? The check engine light came on in our car on the way to work at the end of last week. So we had to run our Jetta out to the dealership so they could work on getting that issue resolved. That’s the bad news. The good news, ahem, the REALLY GOOD NEWS… There is a Jet’s Pizza just down the road from the VW dealership! So on the way home, we stopped and picked up some delicious Jet’s Pizza and their outstanding ranch dressing for dipping!!!

We started with some delicious Jet’s bread…

And there it is…

An eight-corner Jet’s masterpiece. Genifer got pepperoni and onions on her half. And I got sausage and mushrooms. So good. So good. Soo good. I love their thick pan crust pizza. It’s just really amazing. I’ve missed it some much! Hopefully, this will hold me over until the next time we find ourselves by a Jet’s Pizza. 🙂

Monday afternoon in suburbia.

We drove out to Ikea in West Chester to pick up a few new things for our house…

After any trip to Ikea, we always stop at Dingle House for lunch….

It was a really productive afternoon out in the ‘burbs. 🙂

Dingle House.

After every trip to Ikea, we always stop at Dingle House in West Chester for a bite to eat.

Genifer had this delicious Shamrock Salad…

On Sundays, all Irish fare is just $9.99. I almost felt obligated to order the fish & chips…
