Crown Republic’s walk-up pastry window.
This afternoon I walked down Eighth Street to Crown Republic to see if I could find the fabled Crown Republic pastry window that I saw mentioned on their Instagram. I was looking for these cookies in particular…
And there it was. The Crown Republic pastry window. And there was also a door…
I managed to get us some goodies for later…
I got us a chocolate pound cake and those delicious-looking chocolate chip cookies…
The pastry window/door is a brilliant idea. And the pastries were delicious! 😀🍪❤️

Lunch at someplace other than Arnolds.
We had lunch at nada today for a coworker celebration. Usually, we always have these sort of things at Arnold’s. It’s almost as if someone at work has a minority share in the ownership of the Arnold’s or something with the frequency we have group lunches there. It was really refreshing to go somewhere else. Anywhere else. And I haven’t been to nada in ages…
I ordered the little nada sliders with steamed onion, cheese, jalapeño and sweet chili-glazed fries with crema. It was really good. I had forgotten how much I liked their little slider burgers…
Genifer and I will have to go check out their Vacation Vibes Wednesdays after work someday in the not too distant future. 😀🇲🇽🍔❤️

I found another one.
I was on my way back to the office after getting my haircut. And I saw another of these little guys in the crosswalk at Seventh and Walnut Streets…
This one was a little worse for wear than the first one I saw at the intersection of Main and Seventh Streets. I’m still really curious what their stories are? And if there is still some sort of backstory like the Toynbee Tiles around downtown. Now that I’ve seen and second one, I’m going to have to keep an eye out to try to see if I can find any more of them around downtown Cincinnati. 😀🏙️🤖❤️

Summer Hours: Crown Republic.
I had my Summer Hours again today. This time was decided to check out a new place that just opened down the Eighth Street from work and just up Sycamore Street from where we used to live downtown. It’s a new gastropub called Crown Republic…
Genifer tried one of their cocktails. This one is called Derby Punch with Jim Beam, Sage, Watermelon and Lemon…
They had a lot of items on their menu that sounded really good. It was a tough decision. But we made some hard decisions and lunch was served…
Genifer ordered the cheeseburger and it was massive…
Here’s my chicken po’boy…
Both sammiches were great and they were served with terrific fries. It was a really good lunch. Crown Republic also offers $3 Tall Boys. We each had a Hamm’s Tall Boy and hung out at Crown Republic to watch the Switzerland versus Serbia match in the World Cup highlighted by Swiss and Arsenal midfielder, Granit Xhaka’s outstanding strike. It was another wonderful Summer Hours Friday afternoon. Thanks, Crown Republic!

Happy trails, Orient.
I was walking back to the office up Main Street and noticed that Orient had closed…
Orient was an odd little place. You couldn’t pay with a credit card. They only took cash. I don’t really carry cash so I get didn’t eat there as often as I would have liked. My friend, Chuck used to live right above Orient and was convinced it was a front for something. Say what you will about the place, they had some great food. And I’m sad to see them go. They will be missed. 😀🍚❤️

Taco Bell Cantina.
When we were downtown last weekend for the Bunbury Music Festival, we walked over to the AT580 Building at the corner of Main and Sixth Streets to find the brand new Wahlburgers. And right next to the new Walhburgers, we also found a brand new Taco Bell Cantina. You know what I did today for lunch? I walked right back over to the AT580 Building to check out the new Taco Bell Cantina…
It’s one of the nicest Taco Bell’s I’ve ever been to, that’s for sure. And they weren’t stingy the sauce packets either. Just look at all that Fire Sauce…
I ordered my favorite, three Chalupa Supremes and a large Gatorade Fruit Punch. It’s pretty awesome to have Taco Bell as a quick and inexpensive lunch option in downtown Cincinnati. I’ll definitely be Living Mas at Main and Sixth in the near future. 😀🌮👍❤️
