Happy Halloween!
All these Donald Deskey bobbleheads were dressed up for today’s holiday, and I thought it would make a cute Halloween post on Instagram…
But I wrong. And was told to take it down. The reason was the left bobblehead’s red smock was actually a cape. I was told he looked like he was at the barber shop. And it was embarrassing. I was also told the ghost’s name around the base of the bobblehead was inappropriate and we definitely don’t want to post that. Yeah, I can’t read it either.
The good news is it only took me nine photos to get the one I would end up posting…

The sunrises have been starting to come later and later in the morning and we’ve been leaving for work before the beautiful sunrises we’ve been seeing for the last few weeks actually start to break above the houses…
But the sunrise was gorgeous once I got downtown…

The hand demolition of the building continued across the street at the corner of Main and Eighth Street…
And down the street work continues on the building that is home to Taqueria Mercado at the corner of Walnut and Eighth Streets. That’s actually the entrance to their Mexican restaurant just above the furthest most construction pilon to the right…
It’s pretty amazing that they’ve been able to stay open through all the construction on the building they call home. 😀🚧❤️

It’s what’s for lunch: Taco Bell’s Spicy Double Chalupa.
I have a confession. I love Taco Bell’s Chalupa Supreme. They are one of my little guilty pleasures. I used to be able to resist, mostly because there wasn’t a Taco Bell in close proximity. But then the Taco Bell Cantina opened over on Sixth Street in downtown Cincinnati. Now about once every couple weeks or so, I find myself ordering two chalupas online and walking over to Sixth Street to pick them up. It makes for a tasty, quick and cheap lunch. We were watching TV the other night and when I saw a commercial for Taco Bell’s new Spicy Double Chalupa, I knew what was going to be happening soon…
It was every bit as good as the normal chalupas. But just more of it. And it was almost too much of a good thing. The thing that I discovered was I really like the ratio of ingredients on the normal chalupa. It’s just the right amount of everything. It was definitely worth trying the new double chalupa. Because theoretically, who wouldn’t love more of a good thing? But I think I’m just going to stick with my original guilty pleasure. 😀🌮❤️

It looks like there’s a new Asian eatery called Monk going in on Main Street between Sixth and Seventh Streets where The Orient used to be…
I can’t wait to try this place once it opens. I hope it’s as good at The Orient or even better. Because you can never have too many good Asian eateries. 😀🍜❤️

I took this timelapse Instagram video of them deconstructing the little room on top of the building. It’s been really interesting to watch them start deconstructing this building mostly by hand. 😀🚧❤️

Downtown details.
I had to run a couple of errands around downtown Cincinnati this afternoon. I walked by one of my favorite buildings in all of downtown Cincinnati, Lyric Piano Building on Race Street. I’d love to hang out on that fourth-floor balcony…
I’d also love to hang out in this bay window a little bit further down Race Street…
Walking back to work, I cut down College Street on the backside of Race Street. There are some wonderful ghost signs from businesses past…
And speaking of bay windows…
Downtown Cincinnati is beautiful. 😀🏙️❤️
