#TBT Pause for paws.

I miss the bud dog. It’s hard to believe he’s been gone for five months now. 😦

NCAA Midwest Regional Hockey Championship.

This afternoon we walked down to US Bank Arena to get tickets for this evening’s NCAA Midwest Regional Men’s Ice Hockey Championship between North Dakota and the University of Michigan. Genifer had never been to a college hockey game before, and surprisingly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Michigan play hockey in person…

Somehow, I managed to turn on the date and time stamp on my camera. So that’s lovely…

Michigan brought it’s hockey pep band…

LET’S PLAY HOCKEY!

Our seats were just behind a whole bunch of North Dakota fans who didn’t sit down until after the first whistle…

North Dakota scored the games first goal right at the end of the first period…

And that’s the way the first period ended…

We moved up and over a couple of sections to get away from those North Dakota fans who were a little too into the game. Plus, we like to have a little elbow room and it was a pretty packed US Bank Arena for this championship hockey game…

The puck dropped for the start of the second period…

GOAL MICHIGAN!

But North Dakota retook the lead…

TIE GAME!!

But it all kinda went downhill from their for the Wolverines…

And that’s the way the game would end. 5-2. :/ North Dakota advances to the Frozen Four in Tampa.

Congratulations to North Dakota. It was pretty awesome to get the chance to see a NCAA tournament hockey game! 🙂

Happiest hours.

This evening we went out to Igby’s to celebrate it being the weekend…

We used some of the 4EG gift card JJVE gave us for Christmas! Happy hour is fun, free happy hours is just plain awesome. Thanks guys! 🙂

Hustle Home Run Derby.

On this rainy Thursday evening, we went up into Over-the-Rhine to Rhinegeist

They were hosting their Hustle Home Run Derby for a Cause…

unnamed

It was the launch of Rhinegeist’s Hustle Rye Pale Ale, and wiffle ball home run derby! A $5 donation got participants 10 swings and the chance to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. All proceeds benefit Bow Tie Cause and Butler County Challenger Baseball

Prizes included a limited edition Rhinegeist-branded bat from Louisville Slugger, free tickets to the Galloping Pig annual polo event and Rhinegeist merch. There were also ballpark style hot dogs provided by Dutch’s Larder…

With the launch of Rhinegeist’s Hustle Rye Pale Ale, you got to take home a Hustle pint glass for $1 with the purchase of a Hustle Rye Pale Ale…

I think I’ve just found a brand new favorite pint glass for Reds baseball season!

And then it was finally my turn…

I didn’t hit any home runs. I made some good contact but had a couple of swings and misses too. Still, it was a blast of an evening. Bring on baseball season! 🙂

Constructing Cincinnati.

The parking structure on Sycamore between Seventh and Eighth Streets continues to rise higher and higher off the ground…

🙂

Seen and noted.

It used to be that you’d just see the high-end sports cars outside of the trendy restaurants like nada, Boca and Sotto over there on Sixth Street Friday and Saturday nights. But it’s been becoming more and more common to see the random Ferrari or Lamborghini here or there around downtown. Just like this Ferrari parallel parked outside the Main Library…

There are a bunch of people out there that have a whole lot more money than me. 🙂

Good morning.

Weston Art Gallery.

After checking out the Canstruction at Weston Art Gallery, I wandered downstairs to check out the latest exhibitions. 20 x 20 x 20 and Salli LoveLarkin: Artist, two new exhibitions that celebrate the twenty-year history of the Weston Art Gallery and its creation within the Aronoff Center for the Arts…

Another really interesting show. And definitely worth checking out if you’re downtown.

Click to see all the photos I’ve taken at Weston Art Gallery. 🙂

Canstruction 2016.

I was passing by the Weston Art Gallery and I noticed that it’s that time of year again… time for Canstruction, the 2016 edition!

Cincinnati Union Terminal made completely out of cans…

We CAN do it!

Nemo and Dory…

I’m not really sure about this one…

And the Roebling Suspension Bridge…

If it’s nice out this weekend, we’ll have to wander around downtown and try to find the rest of this year’s Canstruction entries. 🙂

It’s a sign.

We picked up some Shanghai Mama’s for dinner tonight. It’s always such good stuff!

🙂
