A really foggy Monday morning.

It was really foggy on this Monday morning…

And it was really foggy downtown too…

🙂

Cyclones hockey game #8.

This afternoon we went down to US Bank Arena for the rare Cyclones Sunday kids matinee hockey game. This was our eighth Cyclones hockey game of the season

When we got inside, we found the upper bowl of US Bank Arena was open. And that’s sweet! Because we had a whole section to ourselves!

LET’S PLAY HOCKEY!

And then they made us move to the lower bowl. :/

At the end of the first period, the Cyclones were up 1-0 on the Fort Wayne Komets…

Halfway through the second period, the ‘Clones were up 4-0…

And at the end of the second, it was 4-2 Cyclones…

Daniel Tiger was at the game this afternoon…

4-3…

And there it is…

And once again, our photo made the scoreboard…

The Cyclones blew a 4-0 lead halfway through the second period to force overtime with Komets. Thankfully, they were able to cling to the tie throughout the extra hockey. The game went to shoot-outs and somehow the Cyclones finally prevailed 5-4. 🙂

Monkey Bread.

When I was growing up, my mom would always make this overnight coffee cake for the holidays and special occasions. We very rarely shop at Meijer but we found ourselves at a Meijer this afternoon. And I found this Monkey Bread that looked remarkably similar to my mom’s overnight coffee cafe…

You squeezed one packet of the cinnamon sugar mixture in the bottom of a greased pan, added the little balls of dough and squeezed the other packet of cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the dough…

It off it went into the oven…

Twenty-five minutes later, we pulled it out of the oven, flipped the pan over onto a plate and… BOOM! Monkey Bread!

Now it wasn’t as good as my mom’s overnight coffee cake, not even close. I never really expected it to compete with my mom’s. But it was still pretty good stuff. 🙂

Quatman Cafe.

This morning we got up kind of early to go over to the Sprint store in Rookwood to get Genifer a new phone. She ended up getting the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Pretty sweet phone. On the way home, we were going to stop by the pretty new Nine Giant Brewery in Pleasant Ridge for lunch. But Nine Giant was stupid packed. At noon. So we decide to stop at Quatman Cafe in Norwood instead. I’ve been living in Cincinnati for all these years, and somehow I’ve never been to Quatman. Quatman Cafe is famous for their burgers. They’re always mentioned whenever the topic of best burger in Cincinnati comes up…

On Saturdays, Quatman Cafe’s special is a burger, fries and a drink for just $7.50…

Just look at that beauty of a burger…

A half pound of beefy, cheesy, delicious goodness…

Quatman Cafe’s burger really is one of the best burgers I’ve had in all of Cincinnati. It’s an amazing burger. I can definitely see why they are always in the conversation for the best burger. And it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from our home. I see many more of these amazing burgers in our future. I can’t wait to enjoy another again very soon. 🙂

Good evening.

Some photos from the evening commute home from throughout the week…

Mostly taken with Instagram🙂

The Dennison Hotel.

They’ve started putting up scaffolding along the facade of The Dennison Hotel after a Hamilton County judge rejected a bid to delay the demolition of the 125-year-old building at Main and Seventh Streets…

I’ve walked passed the Dennison every day for the last seven years. And I can see the top of the building from my office window at work. After living and working just around the corner from the historic building for so long, it’s absence would create a huge hole in the downtown landscape. It’s really unfortunate the owners decided to move forward with demolition instead of renovating and preserving a piece of Cincinnati’s history. I’m going to miss The Dennison Hotel. 😦

Good morning from Northside.

There have been so many pretty mornings lately. Taken with Instagram. 🙂

Cyclones hockey game #7.

Tonight, we went to our seventh Cyclones hockey game of the season

LET’S PLAY HOCKEY!

At the end of the first, the Cyclones were trailing the Quad City Mallards 1-0…

HOCKEY NACHOS!

At the end of the second, the ‘Clones still trailed but now it 3-1…

The Cyclones pulled their goalie to try to tie up the game…

But that’s the way it would end, 3-2 to the Mallards…

🙂

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day

We went back to Django Western Taco for Valentine’s Day. We wanted to indulge in their Valentine’s Day menu. But unfortunately, you had to have reservations in order to get the special Valentine’s Day menu. So we just had a couple of tacos along with some chips and salsa instead. It wasn’t exactly the Valentine’s Day dinner we imagined but it was still a pretty great one. 🙂

Good morning.

Good morning from Northside. It’s the start of another great week. 🙂
