My photos on Google Maps/Local Guides just passed 50 million views

Pretty neat. I keep working hard on my Google Maps contributions. And I just made it to level 9 local guide last week! Thanks for giving me another way to share my photos, Google! #LetsGuide 😀🗺️📷❤️

Over 40 million views.

Back on July 17th, my photos on Google Maps/Local Guides surpassed 30 million views. And a couple of weeks ago on August 18th, I got an email to let me know the photos I’ve uploaded to Google Maps just passed 35 million views. I was going to do a blog post about it but I’m a bit behind on my posting…

Then on August 25th while we were out in the Outer Banks, my photos passed 37.5 million views…

And last week on September 1st, my photos went over 40 million views…

It’s pretty crazy to me that it took a little over a month to go from 30 to 35 but only 14 days to go from 35 to 40 million. I wonder if the pace is just going to keep accelerating?

And today, my reviews on Google Maps went over 300,000 views…

Back again on July 17th, my reviews on Google Maps had just over 250,000 views. And if you ask me, that’s another pretty big jump in a short amount of time. I was at 170,000 views back at the end of  March. It’s all a pretty big accomplishment to me. And it’s pretty neat. It’s nice to still be popular. It’s been tough with COVID-19 but I keep working hard on my Google Maps contributions. Thanks for giving me another way to share my photos, Google! #LetsGuide 😀🗺️📷❤️

A little bit behind.

Google sent me an email this morning to let me know that I’ve now uploaded 4,750 photos to Google Maps/Local Guides

But at the time of writing this post, I’d uploaded 4860 photos that have over 18.8 million views. I guess Google is a little behind. When they sent me my last email, I was over 4800 photos. But it’s nice to still be popular. And it’s still pretty neat. Because they don’t have to send me anything at all.

Thanks for giving me another way to share my photos, Google! 😀🗺📷❤

FIMO Analog Camera.

Lately, I’ve been playing around a lot with the FIMO Analog Camera app available on for both Android and iOS…

FIMO captures the beauty and magic of old school vintage images right through your viewfinder. Dust and scratches, retro colors, flickering, light leaks, even frame shakes, all can be instantly added with a single tap off the finger. With FIMO, you’ll make photographs that look and sound like real film rolls pulled out of storage 30 years ago.

FIMO including over 7 signature presets which replicate the look of old-school 35mm camera films.

I’ve been all about the LM Color 100 film that replicates the look LOMO LC-A film with its vignette shadowing, vivid colors and sometimes blurry features, especially when it’s combined with my Moment Superfish lens

I’m really liking results with the FIMO Analog Camera app. It’s pretty fun. And I think it produces some lovely stylized photos. 😀📷❤️

Wait, how many views?

My photos on Google Maps/Local Guides just reached 17.5 million views

But at the time of write this post, my 4800+ photos have over 18.3 million views. It’s a pretty big accomplishment to me. It’s nice to still be popular. And it’s pretty neat.

Thanks for giving me another way to share my photos, Google! 😀🗺📷❤

100,000 photos!

I just posted my 100,000th photo to my Flickr! I started posting photos to Flickr all the way back in October 2006. Twelve years and a month later, it feels pretty darn amazing to finally break the 100,000 photo milestone…

That’s a lot of really great memories all in one place. Thanks, Flickr! 😀📷❤️
