Holiday shopping in OtR.
Work gave me a half-day off today to do some holiday shopping. So we ventured up into Over-the-Rhine’s Gateway Quarter to check out the relatively new Elm & Iron…
We went over to check out the new Victor Athletics Club on Republic Street…
But they’re closed on Monday. So we wandered back down Vine Street…

Soooo much incredible stuff! It would be pretty amazing to be able to run the social media for these places especially their Instagram accounts. 🙂

This sign would be perfect for the Stick Figures in Peril photo group. And be careful around those streetcar tracks if you’re out riding your bicycle. 🙂

The Deskey holiday party.
Tonight was Deskey’s holiday party at Rhinegeist in Over-the-Rhine. We walked up to Washington Park to check out December’s edition of The City Flea before the party got underway. On our way walking up to Washington Park, we were passed by the Holiday Bright Ride…
It was ridiculous just how many people were at Washington Park for The City Flea and the lighting of the Washington Park holiday tree. It was hard to even move. So we packed it in pretty quickly, and grabbed an Uber from in front of Music Hall up Elm Street to Rhinegeist…
There was a big cornhole tournament…
We didn’t compete. We aren’t very good at cornhole. At all. And just like at work, I’m the wearer of many hats…
We were pretty blown away with just how big Rhingeist was inside…
It was a great party. We were really glad we went. 🙂

Americano Burger Bar.
Tonight, we went over to check out the brand new Americano Burger Bar on Race Street in downtown Cincinnati. Americano is the latest concept from Chef Christian Pietoso who owns both Via Vite on Fountain Square and Forno Osteria in Hyde Park…
The ceiling is pretty spectacular…
An American flag made completely out of Budweiser and Miller Lite cans…
We shared the Americano Burger, not pink with a half-order of the cajun seasoned fries…
And the mini corn dogs, which turned out to be not so mini at all…
The burger was outstanding. Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had downtown. The mini corn dogs we really delicious as well. And we wished we would have ordered a full order of the cajun seasoned fries. They were incredible. Delicious stuff!
After we finished our burger, it was time for some shuffleboard…
Americano is fantastic. The burgers are out of this world. There’s a great draft beer list. And how can you possibly go wrong with shuffleboard? I see this place quickly becoming one of our favorite go-tos.
