Livin’ in the Cin Insiders.

Recently, I was asked to write two articles for CincinnatiUSA.com’s Insider program. Their insider program is called Livin’ in the Cin, and it’s the Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network’s collection of local online influencers who create and share content about their passion for Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The first article I wrote was about the Cincinnati Arts Association and in particular, it’s spectacular venues: Aronoff Center for the Arts, Weston Art Gallery and Cincinnati Music Hall…

And the second article was about the Taft Museum of Art

It’s quite the honor to be part of CincinnatiUSA.com’s Insider program. 😀❤️

#GCRWeek17: Django Western Taco.

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! IT’S GREATER CINCINNATI RESTAURANT WEEK!
Our first meal of restaurant week was at the only restaurant participating in Northside, the newly reopened Django Western Taco...

We got to try both of the appetizers…

Ensalada Fresca…

And Grilled Bread…

For the main course, we shared the Blended Steak Burger…

And Charred Eggplant Mushroom Enchiladas…

And we got to try both desserts…

The Chili Chocolate Mousse…

And the Warm Doughnuts…

Everything we had was absolutely delicious! But the salad, burger and mousse were the clear winners for us round by round…

What a wonderful way to start our Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Week! 😀🌮❤️

#TBT Pause for paws.

The bud dog is never far from our thoughts. 😀🐶❤️

NYPD x Monday Night Football.

Genifer’s Cowboys were playing on Monday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals tonight. Before the game started, we ordered some delicious NYPD Pizza

The pizza was great and the Cowboys beat the Cardinals 28-17! 😀🍕🏈❤️

PROST!

Shannon sent us this awesome reversible Oktoberfest coozie in the mail…

PROST! Thanks, ShannonHappy Oktoberfest! 😀🍺🍻❤️

Reds baseball game #7.

Where has the summer gone? As the baseball starts to wind down and thoughts begin to turn to the postseason almost mercifully, today was the final home game of the Reds baseball season. It would be our seventh Reds game of this baseball season, and the Reds were ending with a homestand against my favorite  American League team, Boston Red Sox…

These Ballpark Express self-serve, automated pick-up stations are the first of their kind at any major league stadium. They are supposed to allow fans to skip all the really long concession lines to be able to spend more time enjoying the game by ordering and paying for food and beverages using the official MLB.com Ballpark app…

I don’t know… Pretty really weird, right? BARGE!

We got to see Xander Bogaerts…

And Dustin Pedoria…

And Madeira Ohio native, Andrew Benintendi…

And Mookie Betts…

According to my Swarm, I’ve been to 257 Reds games…

Billy Hamilton had the play of the game, hands down. Billy got caught leaning the wrong way off of first and turned a bad throw during the ensuing rundown into a run for the Reds as he raced all the way home from first. It left the Red Sox scratching their collective heads as to what just happened…

The Reds lead most of the game but ended up losing to the Sox 5-4, and getting swept in the weekend series. The last time the Reds won was at the game we were at last Sunday against the Pirates

It was another great season of Reds baseball. 😀⚾️❤️

Northside Saturday.

This afternoon we went back over to the new Taft’s Brewporium for lunch…

Garlic knots, 10″ pepperoni pizza, loaded tots and some shuffleboard…

More of the Brewporium was opened up this time, their space is huge…

Later, we met some new friends at Higher Gravity and caught the second half of the Michigan game. And then we walked down to Second Place for FC Cincinnati away match to St. Louis. Michigan finally pulled away from Purdue, and the FC|C match ended in a 2-2 draw. It was another really fun Saturday in Northside. 😀⬆️❤️

Django Western Taco.

After a three-month hiatus, Django Western Taco has reopened in their new location just up Hamilton Avenue a couple doors down from Tickle Pickle. They’re so close to us now. We’ve been anxiously waiting for their return, and tonight we were finally rewarded for our patience…

We started with some chips & salsa…

And added some Django-style guacamole…

I ordered a fried chicken taco and Genifer ordered a carne asda taco…

And I had to get a jerk chicken quesadilla…

Such delicious, delicious flavors. Everything was just the way we remember it, if not even better! So good! Speaking of so good, check out Django Western Taco’s menu for the upcoming Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Week…

I know where our first stop is going to be during restaurant week. It sounds delicious.

It’s so good to have Django Western Taco back in the neighborhood and just a hop, skip and a jump from our house. 😀🌮❤️

Fantasy football.

After last year’s really bitter disappointment of not winning any championships for the first time, I’m back it again. This season I’m involved in seven fantasy football leagues. The only money league I’m involved with is again the one at work. To mix things up a little this season, I tried my first PPR league, I completely auto-drafted one team and then there are four other teams. So we’ll see how all of them fare this season. Fantasy football definitely makes the football season more enjoyable and much more interesting. 😀🏈❤️

Good morning from Northside.

When we were getting ready this morning, it looked like it was going to be another pretty morning. At least the sun was going to come out…

When I was walking Oscar, it turned out to be a really pretty morning…

Good morning from Northside. I’m really taken with just how pretty the sunrises are from our little street. 🙂
