Cyclones hockey game #12.

We went to our 12th Cyclones hockey game of the season at US Bank Arena…

It was Pucks N Pups night. There were whole bunch of dogs at the game.

The Cyclones went down 0-2 early in the first period…

And at the end of the first, they were down 0-3…

At the first intermission, there were wiener dog races…

It was also $1 hot dog night…

There were dogs at US Bank Arena looking for forever homes. This pup stole my heart…

The ‘Clones pulled one back 1-3…

And that’s the way the score stayed at the end of two…

The Cyclones pulled back another goal to make it 2-3, and then pulled their goalie…

But the game would end 2-3. And this one belongs to the Quad City Mallards…

Oh well. Win or lose, the Cyclones games are always a bunch of fun. 🙂

St. Patrick’s Day parade.

One of many fun parts of living in our building is that for the last few years the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade route was literally right outside our front door as it marched down Sycamore Street and weaved through downtown Cincinnati. It’s pretty cool to walk outside and have a parade right there. We weren’t sure what route the parade took last year because we were in Arizona for Spring Training but we thought it wouldn’t be any different than 2014 or 2013, especially when we looked outside and saw people tailgating at 10:45 in the morning…

So we threw on some green and started to head out…

It turns out that this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade route was down in The Banks. So we grabbed Oscar and walked down to there to watch this year’s parade…

This year the parade celebrated its 50th anniversary…

My favorite part of the St. Patrick’s Day parade is always the bagpipers…

It started to get really warm so started to head for home…

If you’ve seen one St. Patrick’s Day parade, you’ve kind of seen them all. But they’re still pretty fun to go watch. Even if you just go to see the bagpipers like me. 🙂

Hooray!

Tonight, we went out to celebrate being back from Jamaica for one week…

Taken with Instagram at Horse & Barrel. And tomorrow, I’ll have been married to the love of my life for two weeks now…

😀

It’s what’s for dinner.

Genifer made this enchilada bake full of cheesy goodness for dinner tonight along with cheesy Mexican rice…

Delicious, delicious stuff! I can’t wait to dig into the leftovers! 🙂

A rainy Wednesday.

It was a rainy Wednesday in downtown Cincinnati. Rainy, overcast mornings make it especially tough to get out of bed and get moving…

Oscar gets really mad when we try to get him to wear his yellow raincoat out on rainy dog walks. But he sure does look cute in it…

And it rained pretty much all day long. Regardless of rain or shine, downtown Cincinnati is still a really beautiful place…

Taken with Instagram. 🙂

Constructing Cincinnati.

After being out of town for a week and half, it was interesting to see the progress they made on some of the projects going on around us in our little corner of downtown Cincinnati. The Holiday Inn at Broadway and Seventh Streets was showing signs of progress being made…

Especially when you look at the upper levels in comparison to this photo we took back before we left

And the massive parking structure across Seventh Street from us is almost has its’ second level complete

We still don’t understand exactly what’s happening at Lytle Park but it looks like they’re making progress as well

Things are always happening in downtown Cincinnati. It’s interesting to look back and see just how far these projects have already come along. 🙂

Brunch at The Littlefield.

We’ve been trying to make more of an effort to get over to Northside for what we’ve been calling Northside Sundays. Check out the neighborhood and see what all it has to offer. Today, we stopped in to have brunch at The Littlefield

We started with a couple of The Littlefield’s incredible house-made Bloody Mary’s…

And we shared the sausage swiss spinach frittata…

And it was spectacular…

It was also huge. I couldn’t imagine trying take that giant frittata all by myself. We added a side of toast and raspberry jam…

Brunch at The Littlefield was pretty terrific. We’ll add it to the list of places that we need to try for dinner. 🙂

After brunch, we walked through a few open houses in Northside. We absolutely loved this house. It was perfect and everything we’re looking for right now…

I hope we can find something just like this one in a few months. 😀

Tag! You’re it.

Tag! You’re it! Seen on Central Parkway…

And this Toynbee Tile on Seventh Street…

Interesting stuff. I’ll have to track down the movie, Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles. 🙂

Brunch at Ché.

Early this afternoon, we walked up Walnut Street into Over-the-Rhine to check out ChĂ©, the new Argentinian restaurant/bar that “uses fine ingredients and traditional methods to produce exceptional artisanal empanadas, meats, pizzas charcuteries, soups & stews.” We’ve been wanting to check out ChĂ© for a bit. But we couldn’t manage to fit in a visit before we left for Jamaica. Today, we got to check out ChĂ©’s brunch…

ChĂ© makes their own Bloody Mary mix in house. And they are out of this world…

Genifer ordered the El Huevo Escoces, the Argentinian take on the Scottish Egg served with cheesy homestyle potatoes with salsa…

And it was pretty dang amazing. A hard-boiled egg wrapped in bacon and tucked inside an empanada… WOW!

Absolute delicious genius. I tried the La Trifecta. Because I love me some empanadas. So give me tres!

All of the empanadas were incredible. But it was pretty much a toss-up between the spinach or the ham & cheese empanada for my favorite…

It was an incredible brunch. One of the best we’ve had a while. And it was a great place. I loved their decor.

We’ll definitely be back for brunch! We can’t wait to try ChĂ©’s lunch and dinner menus! 🙂

And we’re back!

We’re back from Jamaica! It was an incredible trip with loads of amazing memories that will last a lifetime. It’s always so much fun to travel and experience new places but it’s also really nice to be back at home too. Because we missed this little guy bunches…

And I’m officially his dad! 🙂
