Downtown details.

It looked like they were working on The Dennison Hotel this afternoon…

We have our Jetta back!

We picked up our Jetta today from CARSTAR Collision Care of Southgate

So clean and sparkly. They did a really nice job with exterior. You wouldn’t even know that it got demolished when some jackass rear-ended Genifer over in Kentucky back in the middle of June…

This is what it looked like the evening after it happened…

And a few days later when they were picking it up to take it in to the body shop…

In the meantime, we had been driving this 2016 Nissan. It was a pretty nice car. Definitely bigger than the Jetta, which worked out nicely for our move. And it had bells and whistles that they didn’t have all the way back in 2008 like a rearview camera and push-button start…

It was fun to drive a new car but I don’t think I would want to own it. It just wasn’t the Jetta. All I know is, it was nice to look out the bedroom window this morning and finally see our Jetta sitting out in front of our house…

I really love that dang car. And once again all is right with the world. 🙂

Grady’s Cold Brew Coffee.

I’ve heard all sorts of stories about the amazing Grady’s Cold Brew Coffee. So I finally broke down and gave it a try. We ordered their Cold Brew Pour and Store Pouch. It was kind of a no-brainer for just $30 with free shipping. And it makes 36 cups of coffee. We’re not all that great at doing math but I think that works out to less than a dollar per cup of coffee…

We removed the twelve 2-ounce coffee bean bags from inside the Pour and Store pouch. Each bag brews 3 servings of coffee…

We added four of the bean bags to the pouch as instructed and filled it with water…

And then put the pouch in the fridge overnight…

Fast forward to this morning, and we were enjoying some amazing cold brew coffee…

I’m not a huge coffee fan but Genifer is, and we both think it’s pretty amazing stuff! The coffee stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. But something tells me it’s not going to last anywhere near that long. I can definitely see Grady’s Cold Brew Coffee becoming a staple in our refrigerator. 🙂

NYPD Pizza Northside.

Tonight, we ordered pizza from NYPD Pizza Northside. NYPD’s conveniently located just a couple of blocks from our house…

We got a medium pie with traditional crust…

And we got an order of nightsticks, NYPD’s 10″ dough stretched out and cut into strips with garlic butter with a custom blend of mozzarella and provolone cheese. Served with garlic butter and pizza sauce for dipping…

Delicious stuff! It’s pretty awesome to move to a new neighborhood and already find an outstanding, inexpensive pizzeria, especially one that’s so close to home! This will work just fine. 🙂

Good morning.

We used our new oven for the very first time this morning to make some cinnamon rolls for breakfast…

Our oven did a great job. And the cinnamon rolls were delicious! 🙂

Seen and noted.

I wonder what was going at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse this afternoon?

Looked like a pretty big production. 🙂

Ludlow Garage Bistro.

Genifer picked me up from work this evening. On a whim on our way home, we stopped at Ludlow Garage Bistro in the Clifton Gaslight District for a little snack…

We shared the trio of deviled eggs. I love deviled eggs! One was filled with avocado yolk, one with a spicy jalapeno yolk and the center one below was a pickled egg filled with a standard deviled egg yolk center, all served over mixed greens…

The jalapeno one was pretty amazing. The heat really crept up on you very slowly. We also shared a grilled cheeses. And it was a very interesting grilled cheeses. It had both a bacon jam and a tomato jam on it. It was really good. Just very much unlike any other grilled cheeses I’ve ever had. It had a cute, clever name but I can’t recall what it was, and I can’t seem to find their new menu anywhere online. So…

It came with pasta salad. And we added a side of fries. It was a great little snack. We’d like to stop back at some point to try some of their other menu items like their Cuban sammich. I love Cuban sammichs. And Live at the Ludlow Garage looks like an pretty awesome place to catch some live music too. Very intimate. 🙂

Northside nubs.

We walked Oscar up the hill at the end of our street for the first time this evening. And the view from the top of the hill looking back down our street was pretty awesome…

We’re so in love with our street. And it’s pretty amazing how quickly we’re falling in love with Northside… And we haven’t even really ventured out and done anything yet. 🙂

Pause for paws.

Oscar was just hanging out on our back patio while we were grilling again tonight…

🙂

Taken with Instagram.

I hopped Cincinnati Metro‘s 17 bus into downtown for the first time this morning…

Thanks for super easy commute, Metro! Taken with Instagram. 🙂 🚌
