Northside nubs.

We hung out in Northside this afternoon. First, we walked to Boswell’s Alley for a great lunch while we watched some of the Reds-Cubs game before heading down the street to Urban Artifact’s second-anniversary party

We had a really great time. There were soooo many good beers. Afterwards, we walked over to Second Place so my parents could taste a little sample their bourbon and Arnold Palmer slushies. It was a fun afternoon in Northside before we Grabbed an Uber to over to Nippert Stadium to watch FC Cincinnati take on Louisville City FC. 🙂

Urban Artifact’s Squeezebox.

I met Genifer at Northside’s Hoffner Park this evening so we could walk over to Urban Artifact to try their latest creation, Squeezebox Strawberry Sour Bomb

We hadn’t been to Urban Artifact in a minute so we got a flight to try some of the new stuff they had on tap today…

From left to right, we tried Squeezebox Strawberry Sour Bomb, Letterbox Dark Tropical Ale, Peanut Butter Sliderule Chocolate Raspberry Gose and Skep Honey Nut Muffin Ale. Here is everything Urban Artifact had on tap this evening…

All of them were really amazing but Squeezebox was the clear standout. It was like sucking on one of those little strawberry hard candies

Urban Artifact also created four Squeezebox variants in 500ml bomber bottles…

There’s a Chocolate Strawberry Squeezebox, Spicy Margarita Squeezebox, Strawberry Margarita Squeezebox and Lemon Basil Sorbet Squeezebox. Walking home, the door to their production facility was open and we could see all the stacks and stacks of cans…

It was a very pretty evening walking home…

And now our refrigerator has some new friends…

But not for too long. We sat out on our back patio when we got home and shared the lemon basil sorbet Squeezebox. And it was just outstanding! Sooo good. I hope our whole #SPRINGinCINCY can taste like Strawberry Squeezebox…

Have we ever mentioned we love living in Northside? 🙂

We found it!

This afternoon we walked down Hamilton Avenue to Django Western Taco for lunch…

After putting away another chicken biscuit with some more amazing Django chips and salsa, we walked down Blue Rock Road to Northside Yacht Club

We heard that NSYC had the rather difficult-to-find Braxton Brewing Co. x Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Milk Stout collaboration that has Cincinnati all abuzz right now…

And there it is…

It was really very good. I was hoping it would be a little more on the raspberry side. It was very chocolatey with a little raspberry on the back end. But it was still very good. Before we left, we also tried a NSYC concoction tequila and peanut butter…

And that was surprisingly delicious as well. So smooth and peanut buttery. It went down almost a little too smooth. Like you’d go to stand up after a few of them, and wouldn’t be able to feel your legs. Afterward, we walked over to Urban Artifact see if we could find their Caramel Sliderule

But sadly, they were all out. So we had to settle for just a regular Sliderule. And it’s funny, I actually like it better than the much ballyhooed Braxton x Graeter’s collab…

It was a really fun and tasty afternoon. Do we live in a great neighborhood or what? 🙂

Elvis at Urban Artifact.

We walked down to Urban Artifact this afternoon…

We tried their latest beer, Thoroughbred. It’s a really delicious Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Imperial Amber Lager…

Today was Elvis’ birthday. He would have been 82. And Urban Artifact had a great Elvis impersonator to celebrate the King’s birthday…

It wasn’t the first time we’ve seen an Elvis impersonator at Urban Artifact

Did you know Urban Artifact has started selling two of their beers in cans?

It was another fun afternoon at Urban Artifact. 🙂

New Year’s Day.

This afternoon we walked down to Boswell’s Alley to have some lunch, and watch the second half of the last Bengals game of the season. Have I mentioned Boswell’s wings are pretty dang awesome

Afterward, we stopped to have some beers at Urban Artifact. We stuck around for an extra beer to see the start of a Drinks and Dragons event that was going on tonight at Urban Artifact. Our interest was piqued when we saw carry in this huge 20-sided dice…

Our new year got off to a pretty fun start. 🙂

Sunday Funday.

With the time change and the early morning North London Derby, we were up and moving surprisingly early this morning. After walking Oscar, we walked down Hamilton Avenue to The Littlefield for brunch…

Genifer had their Greek Omelet…

And I had the brunch special of the day, lamb and duck sausage with sweet potato biscuits, roasted mushrooms and over-easy egg…

It was such a delicious brunch. One of the best we’ve had in a minute. Afterwards, we checked on the progress of The Littlefield’s new bar next door called Second Place…

It looked like they were making progress. I can’t wait to check it out when it finally opens. It also looked like there’s something new going into to the old Tacocracy space on Hamilton Avenue but it was kinda hard to tell what they were doing…

We walked over Urban Artifact for a beer for a Milkman Maple Breakfast Stout

We found Waldo…

And we finally got to check out the upstairs event space at Urban Artifact…

It was another great Sunday Funday in Northside. 🙂

Operation Plowshare.

We stopped at Urban Artifact this evening after picking up more pecan rolls from Shadeau Breads at the Northside Farmers Market to try their latest creation, Operation Plowshare. It’s a Black Raspberry Jelly Doughnut Ale made in partnership with Holtman Donuts and Yelp Cincinnati to Celebrate National Donut Month and Yelp’s Baked & Brewed! And Plowshare was delightful. It tasted just like biting into the center of jelly-filled donut…

We got one with sprinkles and one without…

Great stuff. I only wish we would have remembered to grab one of our growlers. 🙂

Good evening.

Good evening from Urban Artifact in Northside…

And later, there was just a little sliver of moon peeking out from behind the trees in our backyard. I love sitting in our backyard. It’s one of my favorite places in the world…

🙂

Northside Farmers Market and Pickle Gose.

After work this evening, I met Genifer at Hoffner Park for this week’s Northside Farmer’s Market

We picked up a few vegetables and some odds and ends, then headed over to Urban Artifact to try their newly tapped Pickle Gose…

We weren’t really sure what to expect. But it was surprisingly good. I don’t know that would want to drink a couple three of them in a row but it was pretty good for the first pickle beer I’ve ever had.

There’s always something interesting going on at Urban Artifact. I can’t wait to see what they come up with for next week’s #TapTuesday 🙂

Sunday Funday.

Happy Labor Day weekend! This afternoon we rode our bikes across Northside for the very first time…

And we rode them over to Urban Artifact

It was a really easy, little ride…

We had a couple of beers and brought home a growler of Keypunch. On the ride home, we stumbled upon this little, fun-looking waterpark and community pool…

We saw this garage labelled garage…

We came home and grilled up a whole bunch kabobs and steaks…

Oscar kept creeping closer and closer…

Delicious stuff. It turned out to be a really beautiful day and a gorgeous evening…

Especially after Notre Dame lost, that was the cherry on the Sunday. 🙂
