One of our favorite parts of walking down to Second Place is their awesome popcorn machine. So for Christmas this year, I got Genifer our very own popcorn machine…
We cleared some space for it on one of our kitchen shelves…
And here’s a video of the inaugural popping…
It made a bunch of popcorn and it was terrific. Good thing we really love popcorn. We munched on a big bowl of it while we binge-watched the new season of Travelers on Netflix. 😀🍿❤️

This evening we walked down Hamilton Avenue to have dinner at Melt Eclectic Cafe…
Tonight, Melt had a special beer cheese appetizer made with Rhinegheist Truth…
And it was just, WOW! It was some of the best beer cheese I’ve ever had. It came with triangles of pita bread and pickled jalapenos for dipping. It was really outstanding. We also shared one of our favorite Melt sammiches, The Rachel and we also shared a house-made orange cupcake with buttercream frosting…
After dinner, we stopped into Higher Gravity. They were having another one of their Meet the Brewery. This time it was Alltech Lexington Brewing & Distilling Company, makers of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. In addition to tasting a selection of Alltech beers, there was also an ugly sweater contest and an Alltech coloring contest. So we did some coloring while we sampled some beers…
And here’s our finished Santa…
Coloring was a lot of fun. And we actually won the coloring contest! We took home an Alltech Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale prize pack with a t-shirt, hat, candle, koozies and giant KBBA sticker…
It was another really fun night in Northside. 😀🧀🍺🖍️❤️

Genifer ordered one of Django’s amazing Jerk Chicken Quesadillas. We shared some tater tot casserole, chips and salsa and I ordered this amazing dish…
Barbacoa Benedict on a house made jalapeño English muffin, poached eggs, spinach, salsa verde and queso fresco. And it was awesome! But we ordered way too much food. Again. We should have just shared the Barbacoa Benedict. It was such an incredible meal for brunch. 😀🌮❤️

Tonight, we walked back down to Bistro Grace to finish off the rest of the gift card my sister gave us last Christmas. Our dinner last week was terrific and delicious…

Tonight, we also tried Bistro Grace’s smoky beer cheese with Servatii pretzel bread…
And we decided to share the Grace Burger…
We had the Grace Burger back after Cincinnati Burger Week and it was delicious and amazing and huge…
It was just every bit as terrific as we remembered it. The Grace Burger should be right there near the top of the list of Cincinnati’s best burgers. Incredible burger. I could eat a Grace Burger each and every week. It’s that good. We can’t wait to come back to Bistro Grace. They have some pretty incredible dishes. 😀🥚🧀🍔❤️

For dinner tonight, Genifer made another of the terrific Kroger Prep+Pared meals. This one was Mushroom Stroganoff over cauliflower hash cakes…
It was another delicious meal! The cauliflower was really difficult to form into little cakes so we just had the mushroom stroganoff over a mound of cauliflower. And it was so good. We’ve been really impressed with all the Prep+Pared meals Every one of the meals we’ve tried have been very delicious! I would be very hard pressed to pick any of the meals to call my favorite. They’re all so good. 😀❤️

Last Christmas, my sister gave us a gift certificate to Bistro Grace in Northside…
Tonight, I met Genifer at Hoffner Park so we could finally have dinner at Bistro Grace…
We never noticed the lovely detailing on Bistro Grace’s ceiling…
We started with some deviled eggs with mushrooms…
Genifer ordered the Grilled Caesar Salad…
I ordered their Thursday Shrimp Special…
Everything was delicious! I had the shrimp special last time we were at Bistro Grace, and it was amazing. This shrimp special was different but every bit as good. We finished our meal with a trio of creme brulee…
Tremendous meal. And we still have enough left to come back next week to share some beer cheese with pretzels, some more deviled eggs and another one of Bistro Grace’s amazing burgers. 😀🥗🍤❤️
