Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, part three! Last Halloween, we dressed Oscar up in his fun little Halloween shirt, and he was so mad all day. He really doesn’t like when we put outfits on him. So we didn’t dress Oscar up for Halloween this year even thought he looked so cute in his shirt and in his dinosaur costume he looks even cuter

At work, we had a Halloween pumpkin painting contest…

Here’s the pumpkin I painted…

My painted pumpkin came in second place, and I won this huge thing of jelly beans

This evening, we had over 100 trick-or-treaters during our first Halloween at our new house. We emptied our candy bowl twice, and at the end of the night this was all the candy we have left tonight…

It was a pretty fun Halloween. 🍊👻 🙂

Oscar and his little green dog…

44,000.

This afternoon our 2008 VW Jetta GLI rolled over 44,000 miles

Not too bad for a 2008. 🙂

Halloween, part two.

Halloween, part two. Tonight, we went to a Halloween house party with Cleve and Alyssa out in the Cincinnati suburb of Fairfield…

The theme of the party was heroes and villians. Genifer went as Batgirl and I went as John McClane from Die Hard. Welcome to the party, pal

Cleve was Luke Cage and Alyssa was Poison Ivy. It started to get a bit chilly later in the evening and I had to put on another shirt…

It was a pretty fun party. We crashed at Cleve and Alyssa’s house in Liberty Township afterwards. In the morning, all of us watched the Bengals and Redskins tie their football game in London. Afterwards, everyone on Twitter made the same exact joke. And then, we headed for home. It’s always fun to hang out with Cleve and Alyssa. 🙂

Pause for paws.

Svensk wishes you a Happy National Cat Day! Taken with Instagram. 😺😸

Hello from Northside.

This morning we had a beautiful sunrise that we watched from our third-floor bedroom window, and we watched an equally as pretty sunset this evening in our backyard…

And just a HELLO! from our little family in Northside…

🙂

Downtown details.

Today is October 28th, and today’s high is near 70º. And noon today, the ice skating rink on Fountain Square is officially open for the ice skating season…

Because why wouldn’t you want to ice skate before Halloween?  Or have an Halloween costume contest ON the ice? Makes perfect sense to me. :/

Another head-scratcher is the location of the Queen City Exchange on Court Street…

Queen City Exchange is one of those bars with stock market-style beer pricing. Prices change in 25-cent increments as supply and demand of different beers fluctuate. Prices drop dramatically during three-minute “market crashes” announced by a ringing bell. After the market “closes” at 9 pm, beer prices will be fixed for the rest of the night due to some silly Ohio law.

It’s really a pretty fun bar concept as we got to witness first hand up in Michigan at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange. It’s just a really odd location because there isn’t anything else nearby. :/

Ruth’s Parkside Cafe.

Tonight, we walked down Hamilton Avenue to Ruth’s Parkside Cafe. We’ve been wanting to eat at Ruth’s for a little bit. And celebrating our eight month wedding anniversary seemed like a pretty good excuse to finally check it out…

We started with these amazing Grilled Corn Risotto Cakes…

Genifer ordered Ruth’s House-Made Veggie Burger with pickled vegetables. We also ordered the grilled potatoes with cheddar cheese to share…

And I ordered Ruth’s Burger with good old American Cheese with chips…

Everything was delicious! We can’t wait to come back and try some of the other delicious sounding items on the menu at Ruth’s Parkside Cafe…

On the walk home, we double checked to make sure we were following Ruth’s Parkside Cafe on Twitter so could get all the notifications about their daily lunch and dinner specials. What a wonderful way to celebrate our eight month anniversary. 🙂

One year ago…

Our beloved bud dog and one of the best friends I’ve ever had, passed away a year ago this evening…

It’s really hard to believe Milan’s been gone for a year. There hasn’t been a day that’s gone by where we haven’t missed him in bunches. He’s always in our thoughts each and every day. And I’m so thankful that a least a couple of the photos I took of the bud dog show up in my Timehop almost every morning…

We all miss you so very much, Milan. And it breaks our hearts that you’re not still here with us. You were definitely taken from us far too soon. 😦

Rest in peace, bud dog. I will always love you more than words can ever say. :’)

500.

Just recently, we surpassed the 500 post milestone here at T+G! It’s not too shabby of an accomplishment considering we’ve only been posting to T+G for almost a year.

Thanks for stopping by to see what we’ve been up to lately. 😀📮❤️
