Northside nubs.
This evening we stopped to check out a new place with our friends Terry and Katherine called Northside Country Club. Not to be confused with Northside Yacht Club, Northside Country Club is in the old Bistro Grace space on Hamilton Avenue. Apparently, it’s some sort of stop-gap to keep the liquor license with the building…
NSCC is cash-only. But there is an ATM on site. Ohmigosh… THEIR TOTS. Their tots are just amazing. The ranch dipping sauce for the tots is really good. And the aioli is even better. We also had their ham&cheese, thinking it would be a grilled cheese with ham. It was cold ham and a slice of cheese on toast. It was good but just not what we were expecting. We also ordered the BLT which was really good. Our friend Terry had the Chicago dog and that looked really good too. Next time we go to NSCC, we’ll be ordering BLTs and tots for days. And I’ll remember to take photos. But still, really great stuff…
Then we walked down to Higher Gravity. The sunset was pretty amazing…
At Higher Gravity, they were celebrating our friend Jen‘s 5000th unique beer check-in on Untappd. That is a lot of unique beers. Between me and Genifer, we have just over 300 combined. And 300 is nowhere near 5000. Not even in the same zip code…
Congratulations, Jen! That is quite the achievement. It was another really fun evening in Northside. 😀🍺❤️

It’s what’s for dinner.
For dinner tonight, we had Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken…
Ohmigosh. It’s so good. And we had Trader Joe’s Potstickers too…
It’s as good if not better than almost any takeout Chinese food we’ve had. It’s quickly become one of our very favorite meals. 😀🥡❤️

Garter snake.
Look at this little garter snake we saw on our dog walk this evening…
I was really happy that our dogs didn’t notice it. Mack eats bees in our backyard. So I could only imagine what they would have done to this poor little snake. Funny enough, we saw a little garter snake like this in our backyard about a week ago. All this time in Northside and we’ve never seen a snake. And then we see two in a little over a week.
