Northside Thursday.
This evening we walked down Hamilton Avenue to have dinner at Melt Eclectic Cafe…
Tonight, Melt had a special beer cheese appetizer made with Rhinegheist Truth…
And it was just, WOW! It was some of the best beer cheese I’ve ever had. It came with triangles of pita bread and pickled jalapenos for dipping. It was really outstanding. We also shared one of our favorite Melt sammiches, The Rachel and we also shared a house-made orange cupcake with buttercream frosting…
After dinner, we stopped into Higher Gravity. They were having another one of their Meet the Brewery. This time it was Alltech Lexington Brewing & Distilling Company, makers of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. In addition to tasting a selection of Alltech beers, there was also an ugly sweater contest and an Alltech coloring contest. So we did some coloring while we sampled some beers…
And here’s our finished Santa…
Coloring was a lot of fun. And we actually won the coloring contest! We took home an Alltech Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale prize pack with a t-shirt, hat, candle, koozies and giant KBBA sticker…
It was another really fun night in Northside. 😀🧀🍺🖍️❤️

While Genifer was at work this afternoon, I started assembling the new NordicTrack treadmill she just purchased. And we finished it together when she got home…
It’s really pretty nice. I can’t wait to start using it too. 😀💨❤️

Uncommon Threads.
We finished the holiday installation in our front windows at work this afternoon…
We created a rather sizable holiday tree out of yarn. It represents the common threads that tie us all together. I wish I would have tried to keep track of just how much yarn we used because it was a lot…
I love how the sun casts the shadow of Deskey’s mantra across the yarn…
The holidays are a time for people to come together and celebrate one another. In a world that desperately needs it. Let’s remind ourselves that though we might be different, we are all connected. At Deskey, we appreciate unique individuals and recognize that we are stronger as a team. This holiday season, let’s celebrate our common threads, each of which helps to create a bigger picture.

Press on Monmouth.
After dropping Oscar off at his groomers in Newport for his haircut, we stopped into Press on Monmouth again for some coffee…
We ordered a couple of coffees and I got another one of their sausage biscuits to go…
