FC Cincinnati versus Ottawa Fury.

IT’S FC CINCINNATI MATCH DAY FOURTEEN! FC Cincinnati was taking on Ottawa Fury for the very first time either home or away…

Bearcats football is starting soon. And now we have padded seat cushions and seat backs where we used to just have bleachers. It’s a nice perk for the final three home games of the FC|C season…

And speaking of new additions, look at that beautiful new digital scoreboard…

Here come the supporter’s groups marching into The Bailey…

The Bearcat was in the crowd in The Bailey…

I hope FC Cincinnati decides to build their new stadium in Ohio too…

Or if they just wanted to stay at Nippert Stadium that would be fine too…

O Canada…

O say can you see…

Here we go…

I spent the first few minutes of the match just watching the new videoboard…

That thing is really nice…

GOAL! FC CINCINNATI! Danni Konig put FC|C up 1-0

GOAL!! FC CINCINNATI! Jimmy McLaughlin was sent clear to put FC|C 2-0 up…

FC|C had this incredible defensive sequence just before halftime that denied Ottawa what should have been a clear goal…

And at halftime, it was still FC|C 2 Ottawa Fury 0…

SPRINKLES!

And the second half is underway

GOAL!!! FC CINCINNATI! Sem deWit with his first goal of the season for FC|C

Ottawa Fury pulled a goal back…

There was another crowd of 20,000+ at tonight’s match…

The fourth official indicated a minimum of 5 additional minutes…

And there’s the full-time whistle with the final score 3-1 to FC Cincinnati

It was really good to see FC|C bounce back with a win after a string of difficult results. We’ll see you at FC Cincinnati’s second to last home match on September 2nd against Pittsburgh Riverhoundz. 😀⚽️❤️

Seen and noted.

There’s a new Korean restaurant in downtown Cincinnati called Haru …

I can’t wait to check it out really soon. 😀🍜❤️

Good evening from Northside.

Good evening from Northside. 😀❤️

Pause for paws.

We took Oscar to get a haircut this morning. He was pretty fuzzy and kind of stinky…

When we picked him up from the groomer’s, he looked so handsome…

He’s so handsome. 😀🐶❤️

It’s what’s for dinner.

Genifer made chicken enchilada soup for dinner tonight from the leftovers from the incredible Chicken Enchiladas Rojas and the enchilada soup was delicious as well!

Genifer is such a good cook! Taken with Instagram. 😀🌯❤️

Total Solar Eclipse.

The last time the United States saw a total solar eclipse was in 1979. One of my earliest memories I remember is watching that solar eclipse through a pinhole projector. I don’t remember if we were in the pathway of the total eclipse back then or if was just a partial eclipse. But this time around, we were going to see a significant partial eclipse…

And here is today’s total eclipse as seen from my office window at work in downtown Cincinnati. I started recording a video on my iPod Touch around 2 pm. I let the video run for 45 minutes. I used the Hyperlapse app to  condense the footage of eclipse to just 3 minutes and 45 seconds. But that was still pretty boring and the changes were still really subtle so then I ran the condensed Hyperlapse video through YouTube’s Creator Studio to condense 45 minutes of eclipse down to just 37 seconds…

The partial eclipse was pretty dang impressive when you condense it to just over 30 seconds. 😀🌞🌘🌚❤️

Happy birthday, dad!

Happy birthday, dad! We love you and hope you had a wonderful birthday! 😀🎂❤️

Corners of our home.

We ran a bunch of errands this afternoon to get our house closer to being ready for my family who will all be visiting in from around the country next weekend. While we were out and about, we found these adorable little ottomans…

We’re so excited to see everyone next weekend! 😀🏡❤️

You can see more corners of our home on our Tumblr.

Summer Hours: Melt Northside.

Unfortunately, this afternoon was my final Summer Hours of the year. To celebrate, we walked down Hamilton Avenue to check out the newly reopened Melt Eclectic Cafe Northside. We had been to Melt in their old location up Hamilton Avenue where Bridges now resides. But hadn’t made it to Melt’s new home in the Gantry yet. We were pretty excited to finally get to check it out…

Genifer had an Indian Summer…

I had a Left-handed Milk Stout…

There were so many things on Melt’s menu that sounded really delicious…

Genifer ordered The Maureen, lime cilantro tuna salad, swiss, Roma tomato, and mixed greens, baked on Shadeau’s multigrain bread with a side of hummus & Plocky’s Black Bean Tortilla Chips…

And I ordered The Rachel, smoked turkey breast, ruby kraut, Swiss, tangy sauce, baked on Sixteen Brick’s OTR Rye with a side of mac & cheese…

Lunch was outstanding and the drinks were splendid. We can’t wait to for our next visit to Melt so we can try some more of the items on their incredible menu. Next time, I’m going to get a ladle of Melt’s signature black bean chili over their amazing mac & cheese. YUM! 😀❤️

Good morning.

It was a steamy morning after a very rainy night…

Good morning from Northside as seen from our bedroom window. 😀❤️
