Pop-Up Ramen at NSYC.

We saw on Instagram that every Monday in December Northside Yacht Club was going to serving scratch-made ramen noodles by Chef Hideki Harada, former owner and chef of Kaze in OtR! Hideki and his wife Yuko are opening Kiki, a Japanese restaurant in College Hill in late spring until then they’ll be serving their Pop-Up Ramen at NSYC! It sounded really interesting so we thought we’d go check it out…

I didn’t take a photo of it, but NYSC was packed tonight. Thankfully after waiting for a little bit, we were finally able to belly up to the bar for big bowls of ramen…

Genifer ordered the mushroom ramen…

And I ordered “Tonkotsu” pork ramen with extra eggs…

The ramen was delicious! And the eggs soaking up the broth were outstanding. They were my favorite part. As we were finishing our bowls, NYSC ran out of ramen. They started serving ramen around 4pm and by 7:30pm, they had gone through all 150 servings of noodles. I have next Monday off so hopefully we can sneak into Yacht Club early and get some more delicious, delicious ramen. And we can’t wait to check out Kiki just up the street from us in College Hill when it opens late this spring. 😀🍜❤️

And check out Kiki College Hill’s Kickstarter holiday drive to help get them started!

Good morning from Northside.

Good morning from Northside. 😀🌄❤️

Another new personal best.

I hit another new personal best on my Swarm again this week. It’s funny that not too long ago my goal was to someday hit 2000 points in a week. Now my goal is to break 3000 points in a week sometime in the not too distant future. And I was really close to hitting that mark last week…

I still really like my check-ins on Swarm! 😀⭐️❤️

Super moon.

Tonight’s super moon was very impressive…

Sammy’s Craft Burgers & Beers.

All the way back in August last summer, CityBeat gave $25 gift card to Sammy’s Craft Burgers & Beers in Blue Ash for a photo I took during Cincinnati Burger Week. And for the last year, every time Genifer would ask where I wanted to go out to eat, my answer was the same… Sammy’s. It has become something of an on-running joke. But joke no more. Today, we finally got to eat at Sammy’s Craft Burgers & Beers

I was really digging Parkway Brewing Company’s logo…

We started with these incredible buffalo chicken roll-ups with ranch dipping sauce…

Genifer ordered the Guacamole Burger with guac, chipotle mayo, bacon, pepper jack cheese, tomato and field greens…

I ordered the Bourbon Burger with bourbon sauce, fried onion straws, Swiss cheese, mayo, tomato and field greens…

The burgers were outstanding! Sammy’s burgers should always be in the near the top of the list in the conversation for best burgers in Cincinnati. They were that good. And they had a great selection of beers on tap too…

Now I can’t wait to go back to Sammy’s for another one of their amazing burgers. Such great stuff! And thanks again to CityBeat for the gift card! It was delicious! 😀🍔❤️

Good evening from Northside.

We didn’t do anything this evening. And it was awesome. 😀🌆❤️

2016 Best Nine.

Here are our supposed 2016 Best Nine on Instagram

We thought it was odd that there weren’t any photos of our wedding in Jamaica or our new house that made either of out Best Nines. And that all of the photos were from the last three or four months. So we kind of took this with a grain of salt. To find your Best Nine, go to 2016bestnine.com. 🙂

Seven years ago…

Seven years ago, I started using an app called Foursquare which eventually spun off into another app called Swarm. So today was my Foursquare/Swarm birthday…

And I got my Foursquare/Swarm 2016 Year in Review today. I had over 6100 check-ins to earn 130 Mayorships over the past year…

Even after all this time, I still love my Foursquare/Swarm. 🙂

Good evening.

Some photos taken this evening from the bus on the way home from work…

And then a couple from our backyard…

Have a great new year weekend. 🙂

Spoon & Cellar.

When we were still living downtown, we watched the construction of the Holiday Inn on Seventh Street. We were kind of excited about it because it was supposed to have a restaurant and bar on the premises. And why wouldn’t you want a restaurant and bar literally across the street? We were hoping that they would get it completed and open before we moved out of downtown but that wasn’t the case. I heard from a coworker that they thought the new Holiday Inn was open and with it the new restaurant which is apparently called Spoon & Cellar

And today, I went over to grab a sammich to go for lunch…

They have some pretty good sounding stuff on the Spoon & Cellar menu. Being a restaurant in a hotel, it’s not the cheapest menu around but it’s not terrible. I ordered the Cellar Club sammich and headed back to work…

I love a good club sammich and this was a really great one! I can’t wait to try some of the other stuff on their menu. 🙂
