They did it! They actually mowed the grass on the empty lot at the end of our street. The grass has been mowed with less and less frequency ever since some overzealous parent from the Montessori school up on top of the hill decided it would be a good idea to turn that green space into a fruit orchard. So far, the result has been large piles of wood chips that have gone undisturbed for months and knee-high weeds. But today, the company that does the landscaping for the school actually decided to mow the grass…
It’s a modern miracle. I wonder when this space will actually become an orchard?
Probably not while we’re living in Northside. 🤔🍑❤️

I’ve been working really hard on my Google Maps Local Guides lately. I posted photos and reviews of almost every place we stopped on our recent epic road trip to try to propel myself from Level 7 up into the promised land of Level 8. And I was getting sooo darn close…
And then I finally made it to Google Maps Local Guides Level 8!
HOORAY! Level 8! It doesn’t really mean a lot. I just think it’s fun. It’s kind of like my Swarm. It’s another way to share experiences and especially another place to share all the dang photos I take of every little thing every day.

Check out this big daddy long legs that we saw out on our back patio this evening…
Remember when we were walking through Parker Woods and we saw 125 daddy long legs on one walk? Yeah… That was pretty crazy. 😀🕷️👀❤️
And then I mowed the grass in our backyard…
We still need to figure out what we’re doing with our backyard. It has so much potential. But we really can’t decide on how we want the finished product to look. We keep looking at idea after idea and even started a Pinterest board to collect and organize our inspirations. But it hasn’t done much to help. And it’s kind of a bummer.
