Three years ago.

Our beloved bud dog passed away three years ago this evening…

It’s really hard to believe Milan’s been gone for three years now. There hasn’t been a day that’s gone by where we still haven’t missed him in bunches even after all this time. He’s always in our thoughts each and every day. And I’m so very thankful that a couple of bud dog photos show up in my Timehop almost every morning…

All of us still miss you so very much, Milan. You helped me through one of the roughest patches of my life and helped me come out the other side. You were always there for me.  Always there with me. You were the best friend I’ve ever had. And it breaks our hearts that you’re not still here with us now. You would have loved our big house with our little backyard and our neighborhood with all the walks we take through the woods. You were definitely taken from us far too soon. 😦

Rest in peace, bud dog. I will always love you and miss you
more than words could ever possibly say. 😢

What the heck?! Part three OR Roll for Ohio Skee-Ball Championship.

After work this evening, we had to stop at the auto parts store to get some tail light bulbs for the Jetta. On our way to the auto parts store, we saw this cargo container truck that must have taken the corner too fast to first on Spring Grove Avenue from Mitchell…

That’s the third flipped over vehicle we’ve seen this year. After we got our new bulbs, the traffic was ridiculous what with the flipped over truck and all. So we decided to stop at Taft’s Brewpourium for a beer and a little bite to eat while we waited for the traffic to die down. Unbeknownst to us, Taft’s Brewpourium was hosting The Roll for Ohio Skee-Ball Championship tonight presented by Ohio Lottery. The event pitted Cleveland versus Columbus versus Cincinnati in a battle of skee-ball supremacy. It was all linked via a live televised feed between the three cities. The city with the highest total points from two hours of skee-ball would be declared the skee ball champion of Ohio…

Taft’s was really crowded for a Thursday night. We weren’t sure if it was for this event or if it was because of the traffic or if it’s just always best after work on Thursdays…

The Ohio Lottery was handing out Ohio Lottery skee-ball coasters and skee-ball scratcher lottery tickets. Genifer won $30 with her lottery ticket. I didn’t win anything with mine…

We got an order of loaded tots and their knots…

Their stuff is so good.

We rolled some skee-ball. I had a couple of really good games with three or four 50 point rolls in a row…

It was a very fun event to just sort of stumble into this evening. Later, we saw Cleveland ended up winning The Roll for Ohio Skee-Ball Championship. 😀🏆❤️

Downtown details.

I had to run a couple of errands around downtown Cincinnati this afternoon. I walked by one of my favorite buildings in all of downtown Cincinnati, Lyric Piano Building on Race Street. I’d love to hang out on that fourth-floor balcony…

I’d also love to hang out in this bay window a little bit further down Race Street…

Walking back to work, I cut down College Street on the backside of Race Street. There are some wonderful ghost signs from businesses past…

And speaking of bay windows…

Downtown Cincinnati is beautiful. 😀🏙️❤️

It’s what’s for dinner.

Genifer made another of the great Kroger Prep+Pared meal kits for dinner tonight…

Except it wasn’t Kroger Prep+Pared. It was Home Chef Express. I wonder if Kroger has replaced their Prep+Pared meals with Home Chef Express or if it was just a rebrand or a competitive product or what. At any rate, it looked really good in the photo…

It was different than the beef stroganoff Genifer has made before with ground beef. But both were really good. I’m not sure which one I like better. I think I just really like beef stroganoff because it goes well with garlic bread. And I really love garlic bread! 😀🐄❤️

Thanks, Timehop!

These photos popped up when I was looking at my Timehop this morning. They are from when we went to the Beer Baron’s Ball a few years back…

Genifer is sooo pretty. 😀😍🦕❤️

Goodnight moon.

A full moon in October is known as the Hunter’s Moon. And tomorrow night there was supposed to be a 100% full October Hunter’s Moon. Fun facts from Space.com

The moon shows its full face to Earth once a month. Well, sort of.

In fact, the same side of the moon always faces the planet, but part of it is in shadow. And, in reality most of the time the “full moon” is never perfectly full. Only when the moon, Earth and the sun are perfectly aligned is the moon 100 percent full, and that alignment produces a lunar eclipse. And sometimes — once in a blue moon — the moon is full twice in a month (or four times in a season, depending on which definition you prefer). [The Moon: 10 Surprising Facts]

I was really excited about tomorrow’s night 100% full moon. I get excited about silly things like that. When we were walking the dogs this evening, the moon was just starting to rise above the horizon…

It’s hard to get steady photos when the dog you’re walking is pulling you along…

These are the only photos I took of the Hunter’s Moon. I meant to take more but I ended up falling asleep pretty early. I wasn’t too upset because tonight the moon was 99% full. Tomorrow night will be the 100% full Hunter’s Moon. 😀🌕❤️

UPDATE: It was so overcast on Wednesday that we couldn’t even see the 100% full Hunter’s Moon. And that’s a bummer.

It’s what’s for dinner.

When Genifer picked me up from work this evening, we walked down to Fusian on Sixth Street to pick up some sushi to bring home for dinner tonight…

We shared three rolls starting with the left coast roll

And a taka tuna roll

And a soho salmon roll

And we managed to finish it all! Fusian’s sushi is delicious! 😀🍣❤️

The breakfast of champions.

I’m back on a cereal kick at work because cereal is the breakfast of champions…

Probably not this cereal. I think the breakfast of champions is actually Wheaties or something. But I was eating Apple Jacks this morning because I happen to really like Apple Jacks. It’s one of my favorite cereals. 😀🥣❤️

Constructing Cincinnati.

The building across Eighth Street from work is in the process of being demolished. With the exception of a Donato’s pizzeria on the ground floor, the building has been vacant for as long as I can remember. When Donato’s left a few months back, you kind of knew the building was going to be coming down. Last week, they started knocking all the windows out on the ground floor. This morning on our way into work the building was covered top to bottom with this blue mesh…

And here’s the view I have from my window at work…

And the view from the parking lot across Eighth Street…

One of the tenants in the Deskey building is a company called Streamspot. They do high-quality live streaming broadcasts. They set up a live stream of the demolition across the street. It’ll be interesting to watch this building come down. The building was kind of an eyesore and I don’t think it’ll be missed one bit. In its place, I think I heard they are planning to build condos that no normal person could ever afford.
But at least it’ll probably look nicer. 😀🚧❤️

Good morning from Northside.

The beautiful mornings continue. Good morning from Northside. 😀🌄❤️
