Bay Horse Cafe to celebrate 40 years.

This afternoon the office closed a little early to walk down to Bay Horse Cafe

We paused to celebrate our CEO and fearless leader, Doug Studer’s 40th-anniversary of work at Deskey…

Forty years with one company is a very momentous achievement…

SURPRISE!

It was a fun afternoon celebrating an incredible career achievement. And Bay Horse Cafe is a great little place. I can’t wait to head back soon for another beer and maybe grab some lunch from Bay Horse sometime soon. 😀🎂🍻❤️

A flight at Brink.

After lunch at Freddy’s, we stopped at Brink Brewing in College Hill for a flight…

Brink has some really good beers. And Brink had a food truck out in their parking lot, Taco Oso. They had some really interesting sounding tacos. The one that stood out to me was a Mexican BLT taco…

But we were so full from lunch that we couldn’t even think about eating anything else. We’ll have to keep an eye out for Taco Oso in the future. 😀🍺🐻❤️

UPDATE: When we got home, there was a Zipcar parked right in front of our house…

JJVE used one when we were up in Michigan. They said Zipcar is really big out in Boston. I guess Zipcar is much more popular in places other than Cincinnati. Because we haven’t seen a Zipcar around Cincinnati in forever.

Happy birthday, Higher Gravity!

When we were out running around yesterday, I stopped at Kroger a got a little sheet cake because today is Higher Gravity’s one-year anniversary! Happy birthday, HG!

It seems like just yesterday that we were checking out Higher Gravity for the very first time. Over the last year, Higher Gravity has become one of our top two favorite places to hang out in Northside. (The other one is Second Place.) HG always has interesting and delicious beers on tap and in stock. We’ve tried a bunch of great beers there. And we’ve also made a bunch of great friends there on the last year. Cheer, guys! Here’s to many more years to come!

We love Higher Gravity! 😀🍺❤️

Oh, and we also added to our crowler collection to bring with us up to Michigan…

👍🍻

A stop at Streetside.

Being right in the neighborhood after lunch at Taglio, we stopped for a little sampler at Streetside Brewery. We love Streetside…

#15 was outstanding! Trouble in Paradise Millkshake Blonde with mango, passion fruit and guava. It was more like drinking juice and less like drinking a beer…

And we brought home a couple more crowlers with us to bring up to Michigan…

😀🍺❤️

Congratulations, Doug!

This week we celebrated the work anniversary of our CEO. He’s been with Deskey for the last 40 years…

Congratulations, Doug! 😀🥂❤️

Sunday Funday.

Yesterday morning, we took Mack to the vet for his ears. He’s fine but we have to take him back next Thursday to his ears flushed. Poor guy. He’ll be okay. But he’s an absolute wreck in the car. He just stands in the back seat and drools everywhere. It’s pretty gross. But after his vet appointment, we ventured into an area we’ve never been to before looking for a Dunkin Donuts for coffee. What we ending up stumbling upon was an area called Finneytown that neither of us had been to before. This afternoon we went back over to Finneytown to have lunch at a Buffalo Wings & Rings we found…

It was really good. Their wings were outstanding and their onion rings were pretty okay. But my favorite part of lunch was starting with an order of mini corn dogs. They were so good. After lunch, we stopped in College Hill to have a beer at Brink Brewing

We had a couple of beers while watched Colombia knock Poland out of the World Cup and played a best out of five in Sorry! Genifer then sank my Battleship and we played a bunch of Uno. It was a really fun Sunday Funday. 😀🐔🍺❤️

The World Cup at Second Place.

We walked down to Second Place to watch the third and final World Cup match of the day: Germany versus Sweden

The ending of the match was crazy. Everyone in the stadium knew exactly what they were going to try to do. But then to actually be able to go out and actually execute it, that’s the truly amazing part to me. It was a really good game. And another really good time at Second Place. 😀🏆❤️

Lunch at Wahlburgers.

Recently a new Wahlburgers opened in downtown Cincinnati at the corner of Main and Sixth Streets in the location of the old Pi Pizzeria. I’ve been really wanting to check out Wahlburgers since I heard it opened. But I’ve been holding off because we knew we were going to be staying downtown this weekend for Bunbury. We walked from our hotel up to finally check out Wahlburgers…

They had so many good sounding burgers on their menu. Genifer had The Our Burger and I had The Original Melt. Their burgers are so good and their fries are amazing. After we finished our fantastic lunch. We moved to the bar and tried one of their signature cocktails Wahlcoctions. Genifer had the Strawberry Jalapeno Margarita and I had the Spiked Cherry Coke…

Wahlburgers was awesome. I can see myself picking up many, many future lunches from Wahlburgers. They’re great.

Also, when did a Taco Bell Catina open up right next door to Wahlburgers?

The corner of Main and Sixth just became my new favorite lunch spot! 😀🍔🥂❤️

Back and better than ever!

This afternoon we walked down to Second Place to watch the Reds game. And they had a brand new shiny popcorn maker!

The last time we stopped into Second Place for Cinco de Derby (Derby de Mayo?), Second Place’s popcorn maker was broken and they had just ordered a new one. When Genifer walked in and noticed the popcorn machine was missing, I thought she was going to have a full-blown panic. We ran into a bunch of friends at Second Place who were just on their way back from Taste of Cincinnati…

We watched the end of the Reds game at Second Place and then walked with them up the street to Higher Gravity for a beer…

It was another pretty fun evening in Northside. 😀🏆🍿🍻❤️

A Thursday evening in Northside.

This evening we dropped off our cable boxes and remotes to Spectrum to finally be done with cable once and for all. After that, we planned on stopping by the relatively new Mad Tree taproom in Oakley for a happy hour event. Their space is really massive and oddly the amount of parking is not. We drove around the parking lot looking for a spot twice before calling it quits and heading back to Northside. We stopped at Higher Gravity on the way home. They were hosting a Star Wars Hans Solo event featuring some beers from Woodburn Brewery…

Higher Gravity had some beers that had really great package design…

And on the way home, we stopped at Chameleon to grab a couple of delicious pizza slices to take home with us…

It was another fun night in Northside. 😀🍺❤️
