Hyde Perk & Haircuts.

This morning we both went to get our haircut with Katie Walters over in Hyde Park. But first, we stopped for coffee at Hyde Perk…

Hyde Perk is such a cute place. And their coffee was really good too. Not as good as our Sidewinder in Northside but still really good. And then we got our haircuts. I used to get my haircut with Katie way back in the day when she was at Salon Beck downtown. Then she jumped to her own place in Hyde Park. I started going to Rooster’s downtown, and then most recently Great Clips just for a quick cut. After Katie cut my hair again today, it looked so nice. I had forgotten how good you feel after a really good haircut. And she always does a wonderful job with Genifer’s hair too. I think I’m just going to start going back to Katie to get my hair cut from now on even though she’s all the way over in Hyde Park.

After our haircuts, we stopped at Rusty Bucket for lunch. I don’t know why but whenever we find ourselves over around Rookwood Pavilion, we always end up eating at Rusty Bucket and it’s always really good. Genifer had a quesadilla and I had this chicken tender BLT sammich…

Great coffee, great haircut, great sammich. It was a pretty great day. 😀☕️✂️🐔❤️

We love steakburgers & spicy beers.

This afternoon we went back to Freddy’s to have steakburgers for lunch…

And afterwards, we stopped Brink Brewing Company to try their Kickin’ Wing – Mango Habanero IPA…

I got my beer in a collector local artist glass that we got to take home with us and we also ordered a little tin of bourbon BBQ peanuts…

The Kickin’ Wing – Mango Habanero IPA was outstanding. It had just the right amount of heat and the sweetness of the mango perfectly offset the bitterness of the hops. It was right up there as one of the best beers I think I’ve had. 😀🍔🍺❤️

Look what we found.

When we were up in Michigan, my parents had these peanut filled pretzels that world out of this world delicious. When we were at the grocery today, look what we found…

We didn’t get any of these big containers. But I got a little bag of both the peanut butter filled pretzels and the mini peanut butter filled pretzels. And they disappeared pretty quickly. Because they were delicious. 😀🥨❤️

We love Blue Jay so much. Their food is really outstanding and you can eat like a king for so cheap. 😀🥞❤️

Northside Sunday.

This afternoon, we stopped at Melt for a late Brunch…

Afterwards, we stopped by Urban Artifact…

Urban Artifact’s Bewilderfest was Friday and Saturday. We wanted to see what was left on tap from their big celebration. Last year, they had a bunch of crazy beers…

We ordered a flight plus one…

And then we shared The Tumi and Lemon Fennel Salad…

Urban Artifact made three barrel-aged variant bombers for their Bewilderfest: Beipiaosurus Boysenberry Sour, Dimetrodon Raspberry Sour and Stegosaurus Montmorency Cherry Sour…

We didn’t try them. I bet they were all delicious but they were a little on the pricey side. However, they had stickers of all the different dinosaurs from the labels, and they gave us an entire set of them for free…

And after I took the photo of my new dinosaurs stickers…

It was another fun Sunday in Northside. 😀🍺🦖❤️

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

Back when we first stumbled across Finneytown, we drove by this place called Freddy’s Frozen Custard &Steakburgers. I had never heard of Freddy’s Steakburgers before. But apparently, it’s a chain founded in Wichita, Kansas in 2002 with over 300 locations. Who knew? It wouldn’t have really stood out to me except for the giant PATTY MELTS on the side of the building. And I really love patty melts. Genifer said that someday when we were in Finneytown again, we could stop and check Freddy’s out and someday turned out to be today…

Genifer ordered a cheeseburger…

And of course, I ordered a patty melt…

It was really good stuff! Their patty melt was delicious and I loved their famous jalapeno fry sauce. Afterwards, we shared a Dirt ’n Worms mini concrete with Freddy’s creamy vanilla custard, Oreo cookies, gummi worms, topped whipped cream and a cherry. It was also really good. But I completely forgot to take a photo of it before we starting digging in. And it was really good too. I can’t wait until we head back to Freddy’s again, hopefully in the very near future. 😀🍔❤️
