Hello from Northside.

Apparently, the construction crew doesn’t work on Fridays because it is very quiet on our street this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We walked to get Sidewinder to get coffee…

Our little shrub in our front yard had a couple of pretty little autumn looking flowers blooming on it…

We walked to the Helltown Bazaar Workshop

It was their last day. They were going out of business tomorrow…

It’s not super surprising that they are closing their doors. They had really strange, very sporadic hours. Like Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 to 3. No real wonder they went out of business.

We got a vintage coffee mug and some new masks. Today was National Quesadilla Day. Then we continued on to Django Western Taco to pick up dinner…

We shared a jerk chicken quesadilla and some tacos and chips & salsa…

We also got some churros and caramel sauce…

And a slice of lemon cheesecake…

And good evening from Northside…

It was a great Friday in Northside. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ท๐ŸŒฎโค๏ธ

The Jetta is back!

Our VW Jetta GLI is back home and it’s running great again…

AAA/Bob Sumerall did a really great job replacing my alternator. And it was actually much more responsible than I thought it would be. Our Jetta GLI is still a really great car. But I’m just beginning to wonder if we really need two cars. We’ve hardly driven it since Genifer got her new Audi Q3 back in November. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿš—โค๏ธ

Constructing Northside, finally.

The day got off to an overcast start…

Good morning from Northside…

They started working in front of our house again this morning…

There was a lot going on for quick second on our street…

And that’s the progress they made today…

Good evening from Northside…

Mack and Oscar were all tuckered out…

It’s not everyday construction equipment rips up your street, let alone your front yard. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿšง๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Goodbye, Ikea sofa.

Our Ikea sofa has seen better days. We don’t really sit on it very much anymore. The dogs kind of claimed it and started sitting on it more than we did. We ordered a new one that’s supposed to be here pretty soon-ish. It’s still a nice sofa, comfy and functional and all. But it’s just become kind of dingy…

So this morning I listed it on Nextdoor

We didn’t feel right charging someone for it. But we didn’t want to see go to the dump. It’s still nice enough that someone could still get some good use out of it. Some college kids picked it up this evening…

We got a lot of good use out of it…

It was a really nice sofa. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿกโค๏ธ

Timehopping.

Three years ago, we were at our 257th Reds baseball game at Great American Ball Park, give or take a game or two…

Our plan for this summer was to drop FC Cincinnati entirely and go to many more Reds baseball games. We’ve just gone off FC|C completely. We enjoy the Reds games so much more than the soccer matches. GABP is my happy place. And I really missed going to baseball games this summer.

Of course, that plan never materialized. So thanks for that, COVID-19.
Hopefully, next summer. Thanks for the memories, Timehop. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฆ•โšพ๏ธโค๏ธ

Or maybe tomorrow?

They showed up bright and early to start working on our street again…

And the drilling started in front of our house…

Good morning from Northside…

This morning we popped our flowers out of the ground…

It was well after 1pm and they still weren’t working on our house yet…

And they must have accidentally hit the water main…

Because all of a sudden, our street was a river. Again

And that was all they managed to get accomplished today.

Good evening from Northside…

Our street is a patchwork quilt of steel plates right now…

For dinner tonight, we had another one of the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meals for dinner tonight. This one was Stroganoff Pork Meatballs with potatoes and peasโ€ฆ

It was another really delicious dinner. The stroganoff sauce has always been one of my favorites. We really like the Kroger Prep+Pared Home Chef Express meal kits a lot.

Maybe they’ll work on our house tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿšง๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿœโค๏ธ

Constructing Northside?

Can you believe today is already the first day of fall?

Good morning from Northside…

It looked like they were going to make it to our house to start working on our water line this morning…

So we pushed our rocks back and pulled up our bricks…

But by this afternoon, they still hadn’t got to our house yet…

It seems like our house is littered with clusters of dog toys…

We had delicious Ramen noodles for dinner tonight…

I stumbled upon these incredible Korean BBQ Ramen noodles at the grocery. They’re so tasty and good, and a little spicy.

Good evening from Northside…

Maybe they’ll start working in front of our house tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿšง๐Ÿœโค๏ธ

Constructing Northside.

Construction has made its way into Northside. They’ve been working on Hamilton Avenue on and off for a while now. And when I was walking home for the bus stop this evening, I noticed the construction was starting to migrate from Hamilton in our direction. At the intersection of Brookside and Pullan…

And on Donaldson around the corner from our house…

Up by the school, someone lost their 5…

Good evening from Northside. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿšง5โƒฃ๐ŸŒ„โค๏ธ

It’s what’s for dinner.

Genifer made vegan green chili mac ‘n cheese for dinner tonight…

It was awesome! I would have never had known it was vegan if Genifer hadn’t told me. And of course, there was regular delicious garlic bread…

I love garlic bread. I hope Genifer makes this mac ‘n cheese again really soon! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿœโค๏ธ

Good morning from Northside.

Good morning from Northside. The first day of our long holiday break is off to a pretty chilly start this morning. Brrr. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โ„๏ธโค๏ธ
