Ludlow Garage Bistro.

Genifer picked me up from work this evening. On a whim on our way home, we stopped at Ludlow Garage Bistro in the Clifton Gaslight District for a little snack…

We shared the trio of deviled eggs. I love deviled eggs! One was filled with avocado yolk, one with a spicy jalapeno yolk and the center one below was a pickled egg filled with a standard deviled egg yolk center, all served over mixed greens…

The jalapeno one was pretty amazing. The heat really crept up on you very slowly. We also shared a grilled cheeses. And it was a very interesting grilled cheeses. It had both a bacon jam and a tomato jam on it. It was really good. Just very much unlike any other grilled cheeses I’ve ever had. It had a cute, clever name but I can’t recall what it was, and I can’t seem to find their new menu anywhere online. So…

It came with pasta salad. And we added a side of fries. It was a great little snack. We’d like to stop back at some point to try some of their other menu items like their Cuban sammich. I love Cuban sammichs. And Live at the Ludlow Garage looks like an pretty awesome place to catch some live music too. Very intimate. πŸ™‚

Northside nubs.

We walked Oscar up the hill at the end of our street for the first time this evening. And the view from the top of the hill looking back down our street was pretty awesome…

We’re so in love with our street. And it’s pretty amazing how quickly we’re falling in love with Northside… And we haven’t even really ventured out and done anything yet. πŸ™‚

I hopped Cincinnati Metro‘s 17 bus into downtown for the first time this morning…

Thanks for super easy commute, Metro! Taken with Instagram. πŸ™‚ 🚌

Fourth of July fireworks.

People a couple streets over from us were setting off fireworks most of the evening. Like really legit fireworks. It was pretty much a full blown Rozzi’s Reds Friday Night Fireworks display just spread out over a much longer amount of time. I think they were shooting off fireworks for around two hours. We enjoyed the show right from the comfort of our front porch…

And then they set off their grand finale

Very impressive. Afterwards our street was filled with smoke…

It was a pretty spectacular end to an amazing first weekend in Northside. πŸ™‚

Seen and noted.

Happy Fourth of July!

It’s what’s for dinner.

When we were out and about running errands this afternoon, we purchased a little charcoal grill for our backyard. And it was the first thing I started assembling just as soon we got home…

As soon as it was all put together, it had burgers and hot dogs on it…

It’s pretty awesome that the first meal we cooked at our new house was on the grill…

You really can’t beat food off the grill. πŸ™‚

A grey and rainy Sunday was a perfect excuse to head to Ikea in West Chester to get some much needed stuff for our house…

Our new stuff will be delivered tomorrow. Ikea delivers for just $59. Best investment ever. Ever. Taken with Instagram. πŸ™‚

Good evening.

After the FC Cincy match, we watched a few July 2nd fireworks from our front yard…

It was a pretty good evening. πŸ™‚

FC Cincinnati versus Bethlehem Steel FC.

We tried something new for today’s FC Cincinnati match. We caught Cincinnati Metro‘s 17 bus from Northside to Clifton. And holy cow, did it ever make getting over to the match so incredibly easy…

We stopped the St. Clair like we always do before the match to watch the end of the Euro quarterfinal match between Germany and Italy. It went to extra time, and then penalties. And that was one of the more insane penalty shootouts that I’ve ever seen. It seemed like no one wanted to score. But the Germans survived to claim their spot in the semifinals…

With the shootout going so long and the FC|C match starting earlier than normal, we missed the teams walking out onto the pitch, national anthem and The Bailey’s tifo…

At the half, it was 0-0…

SPRINKLES!!!

GOAL! 1-0 FC Cincinnati! Jimmy McLaughlin!

Monkey leash backpack. Monkey leash backpack. Monkey leash backpack…

And that’s the way it would end 1-0 to FC Cincinnati!

FC Cincinnati extended their undefeated streak out to eleven straight games. They are 7-0-4 dating back to April. FC|C’s next home match is a friendly on July 16th as they play host to Crystal Palace of the English Premier League. This is going to be THE event of the summer. We have our tickets. And we can’t wait. Hope to see you at Nippert! πŸ™‚
