Later this afternoon, we headed out to Geri’s house for a Fourth of July BBQ. On the way out to the burbs, we stopped at a Walgreens in West Chester. And inside Walgreens, we found a floor stand I designed for Venus featuring Four-Time World Surfing Champion & US Olympic hopeful, Carissa Moore…
The floor stand really looked terrific. And the next wave of my Venus displays featuring Carissa Moore are going to be arriving in stores very soon. Be sure to keep an eye out for them. It’s always neat when you see your designs come to life out in the real world. Pretty neat stuff!
When we got to Geri’s house, we grilled up a whole bunch of goodness…
YUM! Stuff always tastes so good on the grill even though I left the burgers on the grill a little too long. You can’t beat a Fourth of July cookout.
And then we were back home. Good evening from Northside…
As we settled in for the evening, we got ready to watch some fireworks from our third-floor bedroom window WyzeCam. We’ve been hearing fireworks around us every night for the last two weeks. So we were expecting quite the show tonight…
And we weren’t disappointed…
And here are all the little videos I captured combined into one long video…
And then the fireworks we could see out of our windows were done. We could hear all sorts of fireworks going off all around our house until very early in the morning. We just couldn’t see them.
We hope everyone had a happy and safe Fourth of July. 😀🇺🇸❤️
This evening we were invited to our friend Robert’s house in Mount Adams to watch the annual big Labor Day fireworks spectacular. Even when we lived downtown, we usually didn’t bother with the Labor Day fireworks because it’s just a mess of people and traffic. But we were invited and a bunch of our friends were all going so what the heck. He had an incredible view of downtown and the Ohio Riverfront from his patio, perfect for watching the fireworks. It was definitely the best view we’ve had for watching these fireworks. We had a very colorful Uber ride to Mount Adams…
I also took a video of the entire spectacular fireworks display with my Polaroid CUBE+. That video ended up being just under a half hour long, and there was a lot of chit-chat in the background. So I sped up the video and condensed it to just five minutes and cut out all the sound…
I’ve never really played a whole bunch of drinking games. It’s a fact that people find somewhat shocking. When I was younger, we would just go out and get drinks. We didn’t play games. We’d just get drinks. Drinking games always seemed pretty silly. What’s not silly was the view of downtown from Rob’s place…
Everyone headed out to bar hop in Mount Adams, and we hopped in an Uber to head back to Northside. It was a really fun night. 😀🎆❤️
From what I was told, the procedure went great and the revision was a complete success. Genifer hung out with me until the Reds game was about to scheduled to start and then she left to let Mack out in our backyard to go potty…
The bear Genifer got me for my first left hip surgery kept me company…
They had the best bread pudding. It was delicious. I’ll definitely miss having them bring me the delicious bread pudding with caramel sauce.
After a long rain delay, I finally got to watch the Reds game…
I saw bits and pieces of the game. I guess the Reds lost 12-1. Ouch.
It wasn’t exactly the way I planned on spending my Friday but all things considered, everything went very well. I rested comfortably for the rest of the evening. 😀🏥❤️
Today was the annual Northside Fourth of July Parade.Last year, we skipped the parade because it was raining. And we were trying to get situated afterjust moving into our house. The weather this year wasmaybe a little on the warm side but pretty perfect. The parade was scheduled to step off from way up Hamilton Avenue at noon. So we walked down Pullan Avenue to try to stake out a spot streetside about fifteen minutes beforehand…
While we stood there waiting for our first glimpse of the parade, more and more people continued to line the sides of the street…
There was still no sign of the parade coming down the hill as we continued to bake in the hot noon sun…
So we started walking down Hamilton Avenue towards Hoffner Park…
People a couple streets over from us were setting off fireworks most of the evening. Like really legit fireworks. It was pretty much a full blown Rozzi’sReds Friday Night Fireworks display just spread out over a much longer amount of time. I think they were shooting off fireworks for around two hours. We enjoyed the show right from the comfort of our front porch…
