Downtown Cincinnati is almost ready for Blink Cincinnati 2019 this weekend…
Downtown is going to be stupid nuts this weekend. We’re going to just watch the Blink festivities on the Instagrams. 😀👁️❤️

This weekend was Oktoberfest Zinzinnati 2019 weekend in downtown Cincinnati…
And this afternoon, we went downtown to check it out…
Last year, we didn’t go to Oktoberfest at all.
I tried this brat with curry sauce…
It was really good. Something a little bit different. Also a little bit different was the Halo from Busken Bakery…
A Halo is a warm Buskey glazed donut stuffed with ice cream and then hot pressed…
I got the Crown Jewel stuffed with Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip ice cream…
Ohmigosh. It was sooo good.
Next year, we’re taking advantage of this offer, if they do it again…
We made one slow meandering lap of the Oktoberfest. We had a couple of beers and had another brat or two in there. It was fun. Not nearly as much fun all the Oktoberfests as when we used to live downtown. But it was still pretty fun.
PROST! 😀🇩🇪🍺🌭❤️

We went grabbed an Uber down to The Banks this afternoon to go watch our Reds play Sunday afternoon baseball against the Cardinals. It was our fourth Reds game of the season. We were meeting up with Geri, Cleve, Alyssa and their baby, Pippa. When we down to The Banks, we found there was a whole festival going on…
It turns out it was the Cincy Celtic Fest. We hung out there for a second, and then we went into Great American Ball Park to watch our Reds. We had tickets up in the Fioptics District again. I think it’s our favorite section in the whole ballpark…
Usually, we don’t go up into the Fioptics District. We usually just watch the game from the Fioptics terraces. But today, we didn’t the upstairs. And that’s fine. It was pretty warm out and the upstairs had plenty of shade and a nice breeze…
And we got free pizza again…
It was a good game. The Reds snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory to lose 5-4…
I’m really at getting everyone together for group photos at things like this. For whatever reason, it’s just something I never really think about until everyone has gone their separate ways, and then it’s like, “I should have taken a group photo. Dang.” I’ll have to work on that.
After the game, we went back to Aster to wait for the Uber prices to drop…
And then we went home. It was another really fun Sunday. 😀🇮🇪⚾️🥃❤️

Bunbury Sunday! There were a bunch of great bands again today but no one that I really loved. I didn’t take a ton of photos today. We just enjoyed the performances…
Tonight’s headliner was Jack White who closed Bunbury 2018…
Pretty awesome. It was another great day of music at Bunbury! We can’t wait for next year. 😀🎸🎶❤️

After the dropping the buddies at Best Friends, we made it downtown and checked into our room for the weekend at the Renaissance Hotel in the old Bartlett Building at the corner of Walnut and Fourth Streets. Our room was really nice…
And then we walked down to Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove to experience the big fun musical excitement of Bunbury Music Festival…
Genifer got us VIP tickets…
One of the best parts of being VIP was how close you could get to the stage…
One of the first bands we got to listen to was the band we were the most excited about, Third Eye Blind…
It was the first time I’ve ever seen them live, and they were awesome! I took a handful of videos of their performance. After Third Eye Blind finished, we walked across Sawyer to the other big stage. It was kind of a mess to get to over to the other stage. There were really three paths: One to the right through the people waiting in long lines for food, one to the left through the people waiting in lines for the bathrooms or through the center through the people listening to the music. We waded through the sea of people waiting in lines for the restrooms and eventually made it to the other VIP area…
The Saturday night headliner was Incubus…
There were so many great bands that played tonight. It was really a fantastic time. And once again, Third Eye Blind was just terrific. They were the highlight of our Bunbury Saturday. After Incubus completed their set, we walked from Sawyer Point back up from the riverfront into Central Business District, down Fourth Street passed our hotel to get some late night Dominos pizza…
We used to get Dominos pizza all the time when we lived downtown. Dominos pizza is one of the few things we miss about not living downtown. Because Dominos pizza is so good and so cheap…
And then we went back to the hotel to eat our delicious pizza and then we were off to bed. It was a really great Saturday of music at Bunbury Music Festival. 😀🎸🎶🍕❤️

After the Reds game, we walked through Oktoberfest Zinzinnati 2017…
Samuel Adams and Urban Artifact collaborated on a beer for Oktoberfest…
And it was outstanding…
The Klaberheads were getting ready to perform as we were walking through…
We’ve been to every Oktoberfest since we began dating back in 2011. 😀🥨🇩🇪❤️

Today was the annual Northside Fourth of July Parade. Last year, we skipped the parade because it was raining. And we were trying to get situated after just moving into our house. The weather this year wasmaybe a little on the warm side but pretty perfect. The parade was scheduled to step off from way up Hamilton Avenue at noon. So we walked down Pullan Avenue to try to stake out a spot streetside about fifteen minutes beforehand…
While we stood there waiting for our first glimpse of the parade, more and more people continued to line the sides of the street…
There was still no sign of the parade coming down the hill as we continued to bake in the hot noon sun…
So we started walking down Hamilton Avenue towards Hoffner Park…
Instead of standing with the masses, we walked down to Chase Avenue and proceeded over Northside Yacht Club. NSYC was having a Fourth of July USA beer & burger party with a Rhinegeist tap takeover…
Genifer had the Burrito Mexican Lager. I had the Maracuja Gose with Passionfruit. And we shared in the legendary NSYC Burger awesomeness…
That was a really great burger! Afterwards, we walked over to Urban Artifact…
And then we stopped back through Northside Rock n’ Roll Carnival for a little bit…
When we got home, we ordered a delicious NYPD Station House pizza…
When we got upstairs, we could hear fireworks all around us but we couldn’t see any…
But then we started to see some from our bedroom window…
We had a great Fourth of July enjoying all things Northside. Maybe we’ll watch the parade next year. 😀🍔🍺🍻🎸🍕🇺🇸

This evening we walked down Hamilton Avenue to Jacob Hoffner Park in Northside to check out the Northside Rock n’ Roll Carnival in a celebration of all things 45223…
We got a couple of tokens for beer…
Because they had Urban Artifact’s Keypunch on tap!
The first Keypunch of the summer…
Northside’s NYPD and Bridges were serving food…
And so were Dojo Gelato and Red Sesame…
We got some delicious Red Sesame chicken tacos…
They had some pretty neat Northside Rock n’ Roll Carnival t-shirts…
And the proceeds from the t-shirts went to Happen and Bread Winner…
Django Western Taco was also serving food as well…
We had to get a jerk chicken torta with pineapple and elote corn on the cob…
There was a large collection of really diverse and interesting bands all with very unique and distinctly different sounds…
What an incredibly fun celebration of the Northside community. 😀❤️🇺🇸

Despite not being big fans of any bands at this year’s Bunbury Music Festival, we bought tickets for the Sunday lineup featuring Thirty Seconds to Mars, The 1975 and Muse among others. We also had a gift card to 21C Museum Hotel downtown on Walnut Street that my work gave us as a wedding present. If you combine the Bunbury and staying downtown at 21C that sounds like a pretty awesome Sunday.
Genifer’s mom, Geri was kind enough to watch Oscar for the evening as well as drop us off at 21C downtown…
Our room was all the way up on the tenth floor…
Drumroll…
It was such an incredible room that really wasn’t all that much smaller than our old apartment. We sat around for a bit and enjoyed our new digs as watched some of the Reds game in our plush, swanky, new home for the night…
And then we went to get a couple of burgers at BRU…
Before we walked down to Sawyer Point to check out Bunbury…
Surprisingly, this is the only photo my camera strap made it into…
We checked out the view from the top of this Miller Lite bar…
Holy geez was that ladder to the roof rickety…
I ended up using four different cameras at Bunbury. I used the camera on my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and my Samsung Galaxy S. But mostly I used my old point & shoot Canon SX280 to take the majority of photos because of its’ toy camera effect with the dark cornervignetting, blurriness and other distortions like in the photos above and below…
I also took some photos with my Polaroid CUBE…
I also took this video with my CUBE of people just walking passed us as we were people watching while Thirty Seconds to Mars was playing…
Bunbury was such a good time! So much fun. So much great music. We headed home…
And we ordered some Domino’s pizza because Domino’s doesn’t deliver to Northside…
😍❤️
It was kind of weird waking up in downtown Cincinnati again. It definitely had a very distinct deja vu feeling to it…
Especially since you could actually see our old apartment building two blocks away…
I’m going to have to try to source these pillows…
And then Geri and Oscar picked us up, and took us home. And that was that. 🙂
Thank you to Geri for watching Oscar and providing our ground transportation and thank you to Deskey for the wonderful 21C gift card. It made an amazing evening unforgettable on a pretty epic scale!

This afternoon we went drove downtown to check out Taste of Cincinnati 2017…
We got to park for free in Deskey’s parking lot on Eighth Street and just walk a couple blocks down to Fifth Street so that made things extraordinarily easy. Not as easy as when we used to live downtown, but still pretty dang easy. To accommodate that silly Streetcar Cincinnati Bell Connector, this year’s Taste of Cincinnati started at Main Street and continued east down Fifth Street to Sentinel Street ending with Taste of Findlay Market and Fodd Truck Alley. Let’s get to Tasting…
We almost started our Taste with Northside’s Tickle Pickle but they’re right around the corner from our house. We just vowed to get their delicious burgers next week…
We tried the Taste of Cincinnati signature cocktail in a souvenir glass…
Tasty and refreshing. Southwest now flies to CVG! Southwest had a booth at Taste and had people silk-screening bags on demand. We had to get a Taste of Cincinnati bag…
And they were giving away packets of airline peanuts and pretzels. Nice touch! 🙂
Genifer’s all set now with her signature cocktail and her Official Taste of Cincinnati bag…
Across the way, LL Bean had this bootmobile…
More than 550,000 people visited this year’s Taste of Cincinnati over the 3-day festival. Gorgeous weather all weekend undoubtedly played a part bringing people out…
Nathan’s had their famous mustard belt on hand…
We had some amazing jerk chicken and rice from Island Frydays…
Stella Artois had a cool retro airstream at Taste…
We had an incredible empanada in the Taste of Findlay Market. But it was so delicious, I forgot to take a photo of it…
It’s 5 am somewhere…
These little stacking stools by Gateway Fountain would be awesome on our patio…
Food Truck Alley was without a doubt the busiest area at Taste while we were there…
We got a delicious Bee Sting from C’est Cheese…
And we got to see our friend Emily!
We could have spent the rest of the afternoon just eating our way through Food Truck Alley with Red Sesame, Just Jerks, Alabama Fish Bar and Texas Joe just to name a few. But it was so crowded in Food Truck Alley that it was hard to move. So we made our way out and got some Thai Taste Crab Rangoons because I love Crab Rangoons…
This kid’s contraption was genius…
The Bud Bar was back at Taste…
We climbed up top to take in the view from the roof…
In this photo, there are not one but TWO monkey-leash-backpacks…
One of the best parts of our Taste were the VIP passes from CincinnatiUSA.com which gave us access to the VIP area. It was a lifesaver for a place to sit in the shade, catch your breath and enjoy a complimentary bottle of ice cold water…
It was another amazing Taste of Cincinnati. The only problem is you get full way too fast. We can’t wait to see you again next year Taste of Cincinnati. 🙂
Oh! And I almost forgot… We got these amazing refrigerator magnets from Cincy Shirts booth at Taste as well: #TeamFiona and a Cincinnati 3-Way…
Celebrate the 513! 🙂
