Things are getting a bit better?

It was really nice this morning. Genifer and I drove over to get Sidewinder Coffee before she left for the office and before I headed upstairs to get to work.

And this morning, Sidewinder had new cinnamon rolls and I got the last one…

It was a really good cinnamon roll. Not as good as the original cinnamon twists that Sidewinder used to have. Those were some of the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had. But this one was pretty darn good. It reminded me a lot of the cinnamon muffin we shared at Overeasy in Dallas. 😀☕️❤️

But maybe, just maybe, this was a little sign that things are starting to return to normal just a little bit.

Today was a good day.

We got coffee from Sidewinder this morning and they spelled my name with two D’s…

Grey gave us the afternoon off for Easter weekend. Thanks, Grey!

This afternoon, we ran over to Genifer’s office to pickup a laptop. And on the way home, we stopped to get Skyline carry-out for lunch…

Hello, delicious cheese coneys…

Ohmigosh. We haven’t had Skyline in forever! It was sooo good. And later this evening, we ran down the street to Northside Yacht Club…

We picked up some Miller High Life’s and some of NSYC’s famous peanut tequila…

Cheers to the weekend! We wished we would have had the peanut butter tequila for last weekend’s Front Porch Pours. We just hung out, had some drinks and listened to music tonight. It was a good day. 😀☕️🧀🌭🍻🎶🤗❤️

We survived another week of shelter-in-place. Four weeks down.

This morning we walked the four blocks to Sidewinder to get coffee…

Waking up early on a sunny, warm, beautiful morning and walking to get coffee, it felt like being on vacation. It was a wonderful way to start a Sunday at home. 😀☕️❤️

Morning coffee during a pandemic.

One by one, all of our favorite coffee shops have been closing until after the COVID-19 crisis begins to subside. Thankfully, our favorite Northside coffee shop, Sidewinder is still open for business for the time being.

This morning we went to get coffee from Sidewinder…

We got our coffees without any regerts…

We’re very happy and thankful that Sidewinder is still open.

I’m sure we’re not alone when we say we can’t wait for things to start to slowly return to normal. Whatever that new normal will be. 😀☕️❤️

We stopped at Sidewinder for coffee this morning on our way downtown…

And their new artworks on display were these intricately detailed little dioramas…

We love Sidewinder Coffee.

According to Swarm, we’ve checked-in at Sidewinder Coffee either 299 or 300 times…

Either way, we love our Sidewinder Coffee and we’re really glad they’re a part of our neighborhood. 😀☕️❤️

And after getting out coffee, we saw this guy waiting patiently for his owner’s return…

This guy showed up wrapped around one of the utility poles on Hamilton Avenue near the intersection with Chase in Northside…

Sidewinder hot chocolate.

Genifer still gets her Mexican or caramel lattes when we stop at Sidewinder Coffee but the caffeine from coffee makes me feel all jittery so I’ve been on a hot chocolate kick…
