Genifer made this ranch chicken breaded in Ritz Crackers…
And she made mashed potatoes with broccoli mac & cheese…
And it was delicious! She’s such a good cook. 🙂

In the old location of Huit Asian BBQ on Court Street is Lalo Chino Latino. Lalo is the sister restaurant of the Huit Group’s other restaurant on Main Street, Neuf. I stopped into Lalo this afternoon to check it out…
The item that intrigued me the most was an Asian BBQ Quesadilla…
And it was incredible! I also tried the Chicken Curry Empanadas…
House-made pastry stuffed with curried chicken Served with warm curry dip! Really delicious stuff! I can’t wait to go back to try their Chorizo Potstickers. I’d be really hard pressed to try to decide which place I like better, Neuf or Lola. Both are awesome! 🙂

When I was growing up, my mom would always make this overnight coffee cake for the holidays and special occasions. We very rarely shop at Meijer but we found ourselves at a Meijer this afternoon. And I found this Monkey Bread that looked remarkably similar to my mom’s overnight coffee cafe…
You squeezed one packet of the cinnamon sugar mixture in the bottom of a greased pan, added the little balls of dough and squeezed the other packet of cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the dough…
It off it went into the oven…
Twenty-five minutes later, we pulled it out of the oven, flipped the pan over onto a plate and… BOOM! Monkey Bread!
Now it wasn’t as good as my mom’s overnight coffee cake, not even close. I never really expected it to compete with my mom’s. But it was still pretty good stuff. 🙂

This morning we got up kind of early to go over to the Sprint store in Rookwood to get Genifer a new phone. She ended up getting the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Pretty sweet phone. On the way home, we were going to stop by the pretty new Nine Giant Brewery in Pleasant Ridge for lunch. But Nine Giant was stupid packed. At noon. So we decide to stop at Quatman Cafe in Norwood instead. I’ve been living in Cincinnati for all these years, and somehow I’ve never been to Quatman. Quatman Cafe is famous for their burgers. They’re always mentioned whenever the topic of best burger in Cincinnati comes up…
On Saturdays, Quatman Cafe’s special is a burger, fries and a drink for just $7.50…
Just look at that beauty of a burger…
A half pound of beefy, cheesy, delicious goodness…
Quatman Cafe’s burger really is one of the best burgers I’ve had in all of Cincinnati. It’s an amazing burger. I can definitely see why they are always in the conversation for the best burger. And it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from our home. I see many more of these amazing burgers in our future. I can’t wait to enjoy another again very soon. 🙂

This afternoon we walked down Hamilton Avenue to Django Western Taco for lunch…
After putting away another chicken biscuit with some more amazing Django chips and salsa, we walked down Blue Rock Road to Northside Yacht Club…
We heard that NSYC had the rather difficult-to-find Braxton Brewing Co. x Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Milk Stout collaboration that has Cincinnati all abuzz right now…
And there it is…
It was really very good. I was hoping it would be a little more on the raspberry side. It was very chocolatey with a little raspberry on the back end. But it was still very good. Before we left, we also tried a NSYCÂ concoction tequila and peanut butter…
And that was surprisingly delicious as well. So smooth and peanut buttery. It went down almost a little too smooth. Like you’d go to stand up after a few of them, and wouldn’t be able to feel your legs. Afterward, we walked over to Urban Artifact see if we could find their Caramel Sliderule…
But sadly, they were all out. So we had to settle for just a regular Sliderule. And it’s funny, I actually like it better than the much ballyhooed Braxton x Graeter’s collab…
It was a really fun and tasty afternoon. Do we live in a great neighborhood or what? 🙂

When were at Sam’s Club a couple weeks back, we found a 2-pack of frozen Donatos Pizzas. It’s odd because we didn’t realize Donatos sold frozen pizzas. We’d never seen
a frozen Donatos pizza at any grocery store. We always thought the only way to get the Donatos deliciousness was to order it and pick it up or have it delivered. Tonight, we tried one of the frozen Donatos pizzas, and it was awesome…
It was amazing just how close it was to a Donatos from the store. I think we just found
a new mainstay in our freezer. 🙂

A box of Holtman’s donuts found its way into our office this morning…
And I was like, #eatallthedonuts. They’re so delicious.  Taken with Instagram. 🙂

We had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner again tonight…
I love spaghetti and meatballs! Especially when there’s garlic bread involved! 🍝 🙂

We had dinner from Cactus Pear in Clifton delivered by UberEats. So much good stuff. Genifer had cheese enchiladas. I had chicken quesadillas. And we shared Flameado, a casserole of baked cheese, chorizo, caramelized onions and poblano peppers served with flour tortillas. It was so good and so easy but we ordered way too much food. UberEats makes it so easy to have great food delivered right to your dining room table. We’ll definitely be ordering from Cactus Pear again very soon 🙂

There aren’t very many things I miss about living downtown. Not many at all. I thought there would be more. But there just aren’t. One of the few things I miss is the ability to have Jet’s Pizza delivered. It’s kind of a weird thing to miss. But I just really love their pizza. And there really isn’t a Jet’s close to us in Northside. It’s kind of a bummer. But what are you going to do? The check engine light came on in our car on the way to work at the end of last week. So we had to run our Jetta out to the dealership so they could work on getting that issue resolved. That’s the bad news. The good news, ahem, the REALLY GOOD NEWS… There is a Jet’s Pizza just down the road from the VW dealership! So on the way home, we stopped and picked up some delicious Jet’s Pizza and their outstanding ranch dressing for dipping!!!
We started with some delicious Jet’s bread…
And there it is…
An eight-corner Jet’s masterpiece. Genifer got pepperoni and onions on her half. And I got sausage and mushrooms. So good. So good. Soo good. I love their thick pan crust pizza. It’s just really amazing. I’ve missed it some much! Hopefully, this will hold me over until the next time we find ourselves by a Jet’s Pizza. 🙂
