Constructing Cincinnati.

I’ve been crazy busy at work lately, and haven’t had much of a chance to get out and wander around downtown for a bit. But I was walking to get my hair cut this afternoon and I couldn’t help but notice that there’s a lot of construction going on in downtown Cincinnati again.

They’re still trying to demolish the last little bit of The Dennison Hotel. Apparently, there was some sort of shared common wall issue with the building next door. And now this eyesore has taken the place of a historic building…

The only reminder The Dennison Hotel beside the hole in the ground is this sticker on what remains of the red brick facade…

Across the parking lot, it looks like the new apartment building that was being built across the street from our old apartment is finally reaching completion. And it has a fancy name, Encore.

Seeking of facades, it looks like they’re doing some pretty extensive work on the facade of this building on Main Street judging by the scaffolding…

Right next door, Bay Horse Cafe is open for business…

There’s a Wahlburger’s coming to Sixth Street where Pi Pizzeria used to be…

That will bring the downtown burger joint count to five with Americano, Bobby’s Burger Palace, Bru, Burger-fi and now Walburgers. Also on Sixth Street is all this mess…

The old Trattoria Roma is becoming an Irish pub & restaurant, O’Reilly’s…

And there’s also a new pizza place on Sixth Street called Zablong…

There’s this mess on Eighth Street…

And finally, Deskey has a new front window display…

The more things change, the things stay the same. There’s always something new popping up or being constructed in downtown Cincinnati. 😀❤️

V’s Cafe Wednesday Grillout.

I was walking back to work from getting my hair cut, and I stumbled across V’s Cafe Wednesday Grillout on the little plaza at the corner of Walnut and Seventh Streets just outside of the Aronoff Center for the Arts…

It came down to the Rib Eye Sandwich or the Mushroom & Swiss Burger…

I made a good decision. It was a great burger for just $6. I can’t wait to check out the next V’s Grillout Wednesday! 😀🍔❤️

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati 2017.

After the Reds game, we walked through Oktoberfest Zinzinnati 2017

Samuel Adams and Urban Artifact collaborated on a beer for Oktoberfest…

And it was outstanding…

The Klaberheads were getting ready to perform as we were walking through…

We’ve been to every Oktoberfest since we began dating back in 2011. 😀🥨🇩🇪❤️

Reds baseball game #6.

By our standards, it’s been forever since we’ve been to a Reds game. Our last Reds game was all the way back at the beginning of July. This summer it seemed like FC|C and the Reds were always on the same schedule all season. They would both be in town for the same weekend and then they’d both leave for road trips. On the same weekend. It was very rare to find a weekend when FC|C was playing away with the Reds at home.

Earlier in the week, it suddenly dawned on us that the baseball season was winding down. So this morning, we made ourselves get up and get down to the ballpark for a little Sunday baseball church…

We got a Michael Lorenzen Fathead…

It’s good to be back. We missed you old friend…

The Reds were playing the Pirates this afternoon. And our favorite Pirate was playing John Jaso. Or as we like to call him Jason Jaso…

I wonder how many pizzas LaRosa’s has given away this season…

We had seats up in the Fioptics District…

And we had the place pretty much to ourselves…

Redzilla?! Some sort of new motorized promotional item Gatling gun…

The Reds were really racking up the Ks today…

BARGE!

The live Sunday Mascot Race…

Mr. Red jumped the gun a little early…

And all the other mascot just went down the stairs into the Reds dugout…

BARGE!!

The game was deadlocked at zero until the sixth inning. Eugenio Suarez blasted a two-run shot to left

And then Scotter Gennett went yard with another two-run blast

The Reds hung 5 on the Pirates in the inning afterTucker Barnhart’s RBI triple…

We were one strikeout away from free pizza…

AND THIS ONE BELONGS TO THE REDS! They won 5-2

The Reds ended the game with 10 strikeouts, just one away from free pizza.

It was great to be back at the ballpark. We still have tickets for one more Reds game. Our seventh game of this season will be watching our Reds taking on my favorite American League team, the Boston Red Sox in the final home game of this 2017 Reds baseball season. Talk about a good to finish off the season…

😀🌭⚾️❤️

Fusian Friday.

Work was crazy busy today and I didn’t get a chance to get any lunch. As soon as work was over and all the day’s fires were put out, I used Fusian’s handy app to place a to-go order so I could bring home some delicious Fusian sushi for dinner tonight…

When I got over to Sixth Street, my order was waiting for me all set to go…

The hardest part was sitting next to all that yummy sushi on the bus ride home and not being to dig in…

Genifer got a California roll. And I got Shrimp tempura…

And spicy tuna…

YUM! 😀🍣❤️

Seen and noted.

I saw these succulents outside of Woods hardware on Ninth Street…

I always want to bring home all the succulents. Taken with Instagram. 😀🌵❤️

Taco Tuesday.

It was Taco Tuesday again at Silverglades Deli on Eighth…

Taco Tuesday is extra awesome when you had Burrito Monday the night before! YUM!
Taken with Instagram. 😀🌯🌮❤️

Seen and noted.

There’s a new Korean restaurant in downtown Cincinnati called Haru …

I can’t wait to check it out really soon. 😀🍜❤️

Total Solar Eclipse.

The last time the United States saw a total solar eclipse was in 1979. One of my earliest memories I remember is watching that solar eclipse through a pinhole projector. I don’t remember if we were in the pathway of the total eclipse back then or if was just a partial eclipse. But this time around, we were going to see a significant partial eclipse…

And here is today’s total eclipse as seen from my office window at work in downtown Cincinnati. I started recording a video on my iPod Touch around 2 pm. I let the video run for 45 minutes. I used the Hyperlapse app to  condense the footage of eclipse to just 3 minutes and 45 seconds. But that was still pretty boring and the changes were still really subtle so then I ran the condensed Hyperlapse video through YouTube’s Creator Studio to condense 45 minutes of eclipse down to just 37 seconds…

The partial eclipse was pretty dang impressive when you condense it to just over 30 seconds. 😀🌞🌘🌚❤️

Good evening.

Good evening from downtown Cincinnati as I was leaving work to catch the bus…

And Good evening from Northside when we were walking Oscar…

Taken with Instagram. 😀☁️❤️
