Good morning from Northside.

Taken with Instagram. 😀🌄❤

Working from home.

I was feeling a bit under the weather when I woke up this morning so I decided to work from home today. And the buddies hung out with me all day in our office. I grabbed a couple of photos via our office OscarCam

And then I snapped these while sitting at the desk…

They’re pretty cute. And pretty darn good too. I managed to get quite a bit of work done. 😀💻🐶❤️

Pause for paws.

On our way home from lunch with our friends, we stopped at PetSmart in Oakley to pick up some supplies for our new buddy, Mack. We got him some Mack specific food and treats and a liner for his crate. We also brought home a new large dog bed and a bunch of new toys. When we got home, Oscar immediately claimed the majority of the new toys and the large new dog bed…

“Mack who?” Oscar’s a little ding-dong who is not a big fan of sharing. But remember to check out Oscar’s Instagram. We’re still pondering if Mack is going to get his own Instagram as well. 😀🐶❤️

Meet Mack.

This is Mack…

This afternoon we adopted Mack from SPCA Cincinnati Northside. He was taken in as a stray. He’s a purebred pointer and we were told he’s about 3-ish years old…

Every day for the last two years, I’ve received emails from Adopt-a-Pet.com with all dogs that are up for adoption around the Greater Cincinnati area. Every email is packed with all sorts of beautiful dogs. But none of them really spoke to me. Occasionally I would send forward one along here or there to Genifer. I sent an email about one other dog, Parker. He was a foster and his foster family decided to keep him. I saw Mack in the email and after showing him to Genifer, sent an email to SPCA inquiring about adoption. When I didn’t hear anything back from them, we got up this morning and went over to SPCA to see if Mack was still there. He was. We filled out the paperwork and brought him home. And now we have a new buddy…

Oscar’s definitely been letting him know who’s boss and who runs things around here. And Mack doesn’t seem to mind. He seems to be very easy going. He’s full of energy. But very easy going and carefree…

Being a stray, SPCA gave him the name Mack. We’re in the process of getting him to understand his name. But he listens and responds well when he knows you’re talking to him. He’s neutered, microchipped, completely housebroken, doesn’t pay any mind to the cat, handles all the stairs like they’re nothing, has done okay so far in his crate and already knows sit. We got him a harness instead of a collar. As a result, he doesn’t pull that much on walks. I’ve been able to walk him just fine, recovering hip and all. It’ll take a little bit of work for all of us to get on the same page and figure out a new routine. But that’s what makes it interesting. And 859 days after Milan passed away just like that, we finally have a new buddy in our house. 😀🐶❤️

Look up in the sky.

There were some really pretty clouds this evening when we were out walking Oscar…

😀☁️❤️

Chameleon pizza.

We ordered another delicious Chameleon pizza and wings for dinner tonight…

Now they’ll do a half pepperoni and half cheese pizza…

We also got a ranch and spicy garlic sauce for dipping…

Their pizza and wings are soooo good. 😀🍕🐔❤️

1337!

For some reason, WordPress thought it necessary to send a notification congratulating us on our 1337th post to our blog

I could understand it if it was the 1300th post or the 1350th post or definitely the 1500th post. But celebrating the 1337th post? Seems a little bit odd to me. It’s very specific. But hey, I guess you gotta celebrate the little things too! 😀📮❤️

Pause for paws.

I was puttering around in our office this afternoon. And while we were organizing, Oscar figured out that if he jumped up onto the sofa he could climb up on the sofa’s arm and look out one of the office windows into the backyard…

He sat up there for about a half-hour just watching the backyard. And don’t forget to check out Oscar’s Instagram. 😀🐶❤️

Physical therapy x Higher Gravity.

I had my first session of physical therapy for my hip this evening…

It went pretty good. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. But then again, nothing about this entire hip replacement process has been as bad as I thought it would be. Not even close. At all. I thought every step of this process was going to be far more grueling and painful than it’s actually turned out to be. So in my mind, I either really overexaggerated how horrible an experience I thought this would be and braced for the worst possible scenario at each and every step of this process, or this has been a study in the best possible case scenario for a complete hip replacement. At the end of June, I’ll be having my left hip replaced. It’ll be interesting to see how that experience compares to this experience. I hope it’s very much the same, an identical experience or an even better experience than what I am working through right now. Because this really hasn’t been that bad at all.

Anyway. After my first physical therapy session, we stopped at Higher Gravity for a beer. We hadn’t been to HG for almost three weeks. The last time we were there was to watch Xavier knock off Georgetown in OT back at the beginning of February…

We stopped in tonight because we wanted to try #11, the Hawaiian Speedway Stout

And it was awesome! It was also awesome to be able to get out of the house and do something again…

Only 10 more physical therapies to go! 😀🍻❤️

Good morning from Northside.
