Good evening from Northside.

The sky was so pretty this evening as the Metro 17 bus was crossing over the Mill Creek bridge into Northside…

And then later in the evening from atop the hill at the end of our street…

Good evening from Northside. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โค๏ธ

Constructing Cincinnati.

When I was on the Metro17 bus coming home, I managed to grab a pretty blurry snap of the building at the corner of Main and Eighth Streets. It has windows and siding on the front facade now…

I wonder what the apartments will look like on the inside. I heard somewhere that the building won’t be offering any on-site parking. And that’s kinda odd to me. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿšงโค๏ธ

Retro Metro.

While I was waiting at Government Square for my Cincinnati Metro Rt17 bus, I saw one of the two super rad Retro Metro buses!

Back on Monday, Cincinnati Metro launched two “Retro Metro” buses that will be circulating throughout the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority’s bus system to celebrate four decades of Metro service. The buses sport throwback Metro branding from 1986 and a throwback cheap fare to match, just 65 cents!

It’s pretty awesome that I’ve already got the chance to see one of these retro branded Metro buses! #ILoveCincinnatiMetro ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸšŒโค๏ธ

Metro+Transit.

Cincinnati Metro has moved to the Transit app with EZ Fare

The Transit app with EZ Fare gives Cincinnati riders a single, seamless way to pay for almost all of our rides. You can now buy and store passes for Metro, NKY’s Tank, Butler County RTA and the streetcar CB Connector all in one place. Unfortunately, it doesn’t offer a way to pay for the $30 Regional Stored-Value Cards that I like to use. I’ll still have to purchase those at one of the streetcar stations. But it’s still nice to have a couple of Metro passes and CB Connector passes stored in the transit app just in case of emergency. It’s pretty cool really.

Speaking of pretty cool, look at how tall the building is getting across the street from where I used to work…

And I accidentally snapped this photo on the bus, but I kinda like it…

I like riding the bus. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿšงโค๏ธ

That building is going up in a hurry. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿšงโค๏ธ

Woodburn + Che empanadas.

This evening I rode the Metro 11 bus from downtown to East Walnut Hills…

I met Genifer at Woodburn Brewery for a beer and some Che empanadas

I really like Woodburn’s beers and Che’s empanadas. I like them a lot. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿบ๐ŸฅŸโค๏ธ

Brink Brewing’s 2nd anniversary.

This afternoon we hopped on the Metro 17 bus to head up into College Hill…

It was Brink Brewing‘s 2nd-anniversary party

It was pretty busy. A lot of people must like Brink as much as we do…

They had a lot of great beers on tap for their birthday party. We had Mint Oreo Moozie Milk Stout and Business Meeting Oatmeal Stout with raspberry and vanilla…

And we had some lunch from Stellar Street Eats

And there was even some birthday cake!

Happy birthday, Brink! Thanks for 2 great years and here’s to many more to come!

It’s a sign.

They’ve just made the right lane on Main Street downtown a Bus Only lane during the morning and evening rush hours. Here’s the brand new Bus Only sign at the stop where I wait for the Metro 17 bus on Main Street between Eighth and Ninth Streets…

Officials saidย about 635 Metro buses travel on Main Street between Fifth and Central each weekday. Of those, 90 use the far-right lane to pick up passengers at stops along Main during afternoon rush hour from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This lane is the first of its kind in Cincinnati.

It’s nice to see the buses getting some preferential treatment for a change. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸšŒโค๏ธ

I took this photo on the way home from work looking out the window of Metro Rt.17 bus as it crosses over Mill Creek into Northside…

The dotsย were caused by the wrapped graphics around the outside of the bus. I thought it made everything look pretty neat. Taken with Instagram.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸšŒโšซ๏ธ๐ŸŒ†โค๏ธ

One year ago…

I rode the Metro 17 bus into work downtown for the very first time

Cincinnati Metro has made it so easy to get to and from work every day over the last year. Thanks, Timehop!ย Taken with Instagram.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸšŒ
