Out in suburbia.

This morning we headed out Ikea in West Chester…

After picking up a few odds and ends at Ikea, we continued on to Liberty Center

After wandering around Liberty Center for a little while, we headed over to Pies & Pints to meet Cleve and Alyssa for lunch…

As the name suggests, Pies & Pints had a bunch of great beers on tap. They didn’t really do tasters or flight but they did do half-pints. We sampled a few of their beers we’ve never tried before. From the right, we tried North High Jalalima Jalapeno Chile Beer, Victory Kirsch Gose, Crooked Stave Petite Sour Rose and Avery Raspberry Sour…

We started with some delicious char-grilled hot wings…

We shared a Classic pie with pepperoni, sausage, roasted mushrooms, banana peppers & tomato sauce…

And a Pine & Swine pie with fresh pineapple, red onions, applewood smoked bacon, feta & tomato sauce…

Pies & Pints has a bunch of great beers and really good pizza pies!

It was a pretty fun afternoon out in suburbia. 🙂

50,000!

Even our clock says pm, this morning the odometer on our 2008 VW Jetta GLI finally went over 50,000 miles

It’s been such a wonderful car. Here’s to the next 50,000 miles! 😀🙌👏❤️

The Bus Stop.

I made my way over to the arcade in Mercantile Center this afternoon…

I was going to The Bus Stop. My 30-day rolling pass expires on Sunday. So I needed to get a new pass…

This month I’m going to try Stored-Value Cards instead of the 30-day rolling pass since Genifer and I have been riding to work together a few times a week. She drops me off downtown and then continues on her way to Covington and beyond…

I love riding the bus. 🙂

Cincinnati T-Shirt Expo.

While out running some errands, I wandered through Fountain Square this afternoon to check out the Cincinnati T-Shirt Expo

Remember when the Cincinnati t-shirt fest encompassed all of Fountain Square? Yeah, not this year. There were just a small handful of booths, and they were tucked away in the far northwest corner of Square…

But there was still some good stuff. Quality over quantity, I guess.

I almost got one of these Northside t-shirts…

Almost. $25 seemed a bit steep for it.

I got Genifer FC Cincinnati leggings she’s being wanting from Cincy Shirts. And I got three cool t-shirts and a pullover from Loyal Clothing all for $40. You can’t beat that. Good stuff. 🙂

Everyday, my bus goes by this great Artworks mural on Back Street in Over-the-Rhine titled Brewing Heritage: Grain to Glass, designed by Jim Effler. It was created back in 2015. Everyday, I also get to stare at what I consider hands down the worst mural Artworks has ever executed. And it stares right back. Relentlessly. With so many great Artworks murals around like Mr. Dynamite, Ezzard Charles: The Cincinnati Cobra, Charley Harper’s Homecoming (Blue Birds), or my favorite: Martha, the Last Passenger Pigeon, it’s just very unfortunate that we got the really short end of the stick. :/

Northside Farmers Market.

We returned to the Northside Farmers Market at Hoffner Park this week. I could see the market as the bus pulled up to the park…

🙂

There isn’t a day that goes by that I still don’t miss my bud dog. He’s never very far from my thoughts. It’s really hard to believe he’s been gone for nine months. I know he would have loved our new house especially our backyard. I miss you, bud. 🙂

We had the laziest Sunday of all-time. We didn’t do anything all day long and it was wonderful. Oscar gets his haircut on Tuesday. He’s going to look so handsome.

#CincyBurgerWeek: Parkers Blue Ash Tavern.

Our second stop for Cincinnati Burger Week was at Parkers Blue Ash Tavern

Since it was happy hour, we ordered some crisp calamari and banana peppers, cocktail sauce and hickory smoked chicken wings with Parkers barbecue sauce, ranch dressing to start since appetizers were on the cheap…

The calamari was really good and the smoked wings were outstanding…

Parkers burger was incredible 60/40 mix of ground beef and bacon with cheddar cheese and bacon aioli. It was a bacon lovers dream, In fact, it was kind of like death by bacon. And I’m good with that. Genifer said, “It was definitely bacony for sure.”

And it was such a tasty burger! The other items on their menu sounded pretty delicious as well. Next time we find ourselves e’ll definitely be back to Parkers Blue Ash. 🙂
